Sam Crump endorsed by conservative leader and former U.S. Senator Fred Thompson

Phoenix, AZ, May 3, 2010 – Former Senator Fred Thompson (R-TN) has endorsed former State Representative Sam Crump (R-AZ) in his campaign to represent Arizona’s Third Congressional District and praised his conservative voting record.

Thompson served 8 years in the U.S. Senate, where he assembled a conservative voting record that won him praise and the affection of millions.  Thompson left Congress in 2006 and returned to the entertainment and broadcast industries.  Thompson’s radio show can be heard nationwide where he continues to discuss his conservative principles and the positive and profound impact they have on our nation.

In his endorsement of Crump, Thompson wrote “Sam is a proven conservative leader.  His principled stand against higher taxes and spending in the state Legislature has helped protect all Arizonans.  He’s a strong supporter of the Second Amendment.  As the owner of a small business he’ll fight for the rights of business owners in Congress. Sam will defend the right to life and he will defend our liberty.”

For his part, Crump said “I am honored to receive an endorsement from a great conservative leader like Senator Thompson.  He has been a leader on matters of domestic and foreign policy, a strong conservative voice for cutting spending and reducing the national debt. I think our nation will always be grateful to him for his role in helping with the confirmation of Chief Justice John Roberts.”

Sam Crump is a U.S. Army veteran and a founding partner in the law firm of Boates & Crump.  He was the charter President of the Rotary Club of Anthem and founded an orphanage in Uganda.  He is also a member of the American Legion.
