Obama Recruited Richard Carmona As Part of Democrats’ Election-Year Ploy to Sway Latinos

PHOENIX – As federal immigration authorities in Arizona begin today to implement the Obama Administration’s new “deferred action” immigration plan, Arizonans should be reminded that in addition to suing Arizona for enforcing immigration laws, the Obama Administration also previously injected itself into Arizona’s political landscape when Barack Obama personally called Richard Carmona to urge him to run for office and become one of Arizona’s U.S. Senators. Arizona Republican Party Chairman Tom Morrissey yesterday called Obama’s plan to sway Latino voters a “sad campaign ploy.”

In June, Obama announced a new policy to allow young illegal immigrants that meet certain criteria to apply for temporary “deferred action” or an exemption from deportation from the federal government.

“Congress already rejected this half-hearted immigration reform, so President Obama did an end-run around Congress to buy time to get more Democrats like Richard Carmona elected,” said Tim Sifert, spokesman for the Arizona Republican Party. “Obama and his Democrats have a record on immigration that is as bad as their record on jobs and the economy, and simply putting another Democrat like Richard Carmona in the mix is not the solution.”

President Barack Obama & Democrat Leader Harry Reid Personally Recruited Richard Carmona

“On September 23, President Obama called Richard Carmona to encourage him to run,” said one Democratic strategist. (Alexander Burns, Obama courts Ariz. Senate candidate, may contest state ‘heavily’, Politico, 10/06/11)

Carmona is one of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee’s favorite candidates and was personally courted by President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to get into the race. (David Catanese, Bivens clears the way for Carmona, Politico, 3/27/2012)

Obama personally called Carmona and asked him to run, and Carmona told The Hill in February that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairwoman Patty Murray (Wash.) were also among those who reached out to court him. 1. For us who know all about Jeff Flake, if Flake wins the primary Carmona may be a good alternative. Jeff should remember what he did Russell Pearce, remember what he told us why he did not show up to vote for Cap and Trade. oh that is right he lied to us. Again. His term pledge was another lie. He shoved immigration reform dowm our collective throats, after we told him no, he told us GTH. He promotes the Dream Act, over the American Children, he is running the nastiest campaign ala John McCain here in Arizona, knowing he is lying about Wil Cardon. I for one have had enought with the trio of liars supposedly representing us, Oh I forgot they are representing themselves.

    • You make a good point CD9. A vote for Carmona would be the perfect gift to those who have nothing – drooling mongoloid Republican voters who say “how high?” when McCain and Kyl say jump. A vote for Carmona is the perfect response to the McCain-Kyl attempt to control Arizona politics. As another poster pointed out, Carmona is older and would be out of office many years before illegal alien – sucking Jeff McFlake. Think of the rush it would be with a Wil Cardon (or second prize) Carmona victory. Maybe it would give John McCain a fatal heart attack – likely the only way we’ll ever be rid of him. We have already been served a hors d’oeuvre, watching McCain and Kyl suck their underpants up internally over the impending defeat of their boy Ben Quayle. I say if Cardon is defeated: ‘Carmona long and listen to – the discontent of Beltway.’

I believe that Republicans ALSO approached Dr. Carmona to run. To me, that proves that he is a man of the people…….people who are sick of polarizing politics. We are just lucky that Carmona believes in the basics of healthcare and women’s rights!

    • Could be. But I suspect the young unmarried ‘red shoes and orgasms’ female demographic are ALSO holding dance cards for the re-election of der fuhrer Barack Hussein O’Hitler. Is that really lucky?
