Donald Trump a Conservative? Not likely. See in his own words!

The Donald, in his own words:

1) “I probably identify more as Democrat.”
Interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, March 2004

2) “I’ve been around for a long time. And it just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans.”
Interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, March 2004

3) “Nancy — you’re the best. Congrats. Donald.”
Handwritten note to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, January 2007

4) “Bush is probably the worst president in the history of the United States.”
Interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, March 2007

5) “I’m totally pro-choice.”
Interview with Fox News Sunday, October 1999

6 ) “I want to see the abortion issue removed from politics. I believe it is a personal decision that should be left to the women and their doctors.”
Remarks to reporters, December 1999

7) “I’m very liberal when it comes to health care. I believe in universal health care.”
Interview with CNN’s Larry King, October 1999.

8 ) “The Canadian plan also helps Canadians live longer and healthier than Americans… We need, as a nation, to reexamine the single-payer plan.”
Writing in his book, The America We Deserve, January 2000

9) “By imposing a one-time 14.25 percent net-worth tax on the richest individuals and trusts, we can put America on sound financial footing for the next century.”
Writing in his book, The America We Deserve, January 2000

10) “I think he [Obama] has a chance to go down as a great president.”
Interview with NY1, November 2008

On a separate note, I know there are many people pinning their hopes on him to vindicate the “Birthers”.  Someone wrote a comment on this site last week about Donald being a false-start.  That he will “find” the “real” birth certificate in an attempt to kill the birther movement once and for all.

I agree with that assessment.  There are no political saviors.  The savior came 2000 years ago.  If you are looking for another one, then you need to spend some time in church, because you are a blasphemer and heretic.

Especially in light of the quotes above, my spiritual assessment notwithstanding, do you really believe Don Trump as being a reliable conservative?

Doubtful.

Teaparty, y’all!

  1. You better be ready to sit out the 2012 election then… When palin, huckabee, trump, christie, and rubio all don’t run our party will be stuck with romney or pawlenty… 2 absolute closet libs

  2. Oberserve says

You’re suggesting Trump is NOT a lib? huh? Did you not just read what he said about HIMSELF?

  3. I just can’t believe anyone is taking Trump seriously. The guy is just trying to drum up ratings for his reality show.

  4. The big question is: with a solid Democrat-platform supporting history, backed up by copious amounts of donations to Democrats, why is the Democrat-favoring media presenting TRUMP as a potential GOP candidate when he’s a Democrat by donations and associations? Huh?

And on what planet are those on who are telling Conservatives and Republicans that we HAVE to vote for TRUMP or we get Huckabee or …Romney or somebody whatever? Maybe Liberals are so used to telling people how to think, they don’t realize that their narrative doesn’t work on poeple who aren’t interested.

If TRUMP was as bold as he makes himself out to be, and as concerned about the nation as he insists, he’d be declaring his candidacy as the DEMOCRAT challenger to knock Obama out of the nomination. TRUMP to “haul the Democrat Party back from the brink of catastrophe” or something like that, not flirting around tossing his bangs as he is doing.

TRUMP’s platform is .. TRUMP. In big letters, fading and intensifying illumination… sound… maybe some poofy fog to make the pulsating laserlights show up better. Economic policy? Foreign policy? Refer to the Democrat Party Platform.

  5. Andy Bernard says

He’s clearly doing this for publicity, but a little bit of me wants to see his victory speech concluding with ‘President Obama…YOU’RE FIRED!’

  6. John Doe, P.E. says

He’ll never run. First, I believe he won’t face the scrutiny of disclosing the finances of his operation. I don’t believe he’s as wealthy as he wants upcoming voters to believe and I’m pretty sure his campaign finances would confirm this.

Second, how do you operate a casino and require a Chapter 11 filing? Bankrupting a casino – really? Along with 2 other bankruptcies I can’t support him from either a fiscal or social perspective, much less his ability to guide a nation.

Of course, my dad was wrong when he told me “no one will elect a Hollywood actor for president.”

  7. At least he’s honest about war – it’s for the oil or it’s a waste of time. He won’t run. And he’s a dem.

  8. The fact that Trump is polling well in a Republican primary (all because he said Obama wasn’t born here, by the way) just shows how weak the GOP field is, not some media conspiracy to screw over the eventual Republican candidate.

    …………………………

Oh! Which Republican primary is that?
TRUMP wants Obama to show his papers, but we haven’t seen TRUMP’s filing papers, have we?
