The Republican Professionals are relaunching their happy hour to be called “Politics on the Rocks.” Our launch party will be held at The W Hotel in Scottsdale on Thursday, May 14th at 6:00 PM. The purpose of “Politics on the Rocks” is to bring Republican & Conservative Professionals together in a monthly happy hour where they can network, socialize, and hear directly from prominent politicians and successful business leaders. Politics on the Rocks was started in Phoenix, Arizona and has spread to other cities.
County Attorney Andrew Thomas will be speaking briefly at 7pm, followed by John Jakubczyk from Arizona Right to Life and a libertarian candidate in CD-5.
Did you see the post at Gila Courier obviously written by one of the HO-tel California roommates? http://www.gilacourier.com/?p=1322
They’re trying to spin the fact that they got kicked off the board of the Republican Professionals, saying they’re the true Republican Professionals. And the real reason the legit Republican Professionals, above, is renaming itself to Politics on the Rocks? Because 109-and-feelin-fine Brett Mecum dragged his boss Randy Pullen into it, who told both groups to refrain from using the name “Republican” unless they could compromise.
The renegade Republican Professionals needs to be reined in by Pullen before they get into any more serious sexual harassment. They’re frankly an embarrassment to the Republican Party. http://politicomafioso.blogspot.com/2009/05/rnc-treasurer-az-gop-chair-randy-pullen.html
At one time I had respect to Andrew Thomas but that respect has faded away. He no longer works for the people that hired him but for his own political agenda.
He has become all about grand standing.
I can think of 3 people who better not even think about stepping foot near the W tonight.
Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me.
A Libertarian candidate?! LOL! I heard Barry Hess last night…”the reason the illegal immigration problem exists is because Republicans and Democrats want it to exist. If the two parties fix the problem they are out of a job.” And worse, he says he is out telling college students this garbage all the time!! Thanks for working agianst the Republican Party Republican Professionals–NOT!!!
John Jakubczyk AND a Libertarian on the same night? that’s just great…a great Pro-Life message and a Pro-Choice extremist in the same room on the same night. I would come to hear Jakubczyk but the pro-“choice” candidate is enough to keep me away. Thanks anyway.
I actually chose these speakers on purpose to provide diverse ideas. Nick Coons is an aspiring politician at the age of 30. I thought it would be great to feature a young politician at this event. He will speak on why capitalism does work. John Jakubczyk is an excellent speaker and has a great message. We are very excited to have Andy Thomas tonight as well! Should be an interesting evening to say the least.
I am excited that the Republican Professionals have made the right changes and are moving forward full speed. I hear they have over 300 RSVP’s for this event and getting Andy Thomas to speak is an excellent idea. Word on the street is that the McCain and Romney supporters are backing Republican Professionals: “Politics on the Rocks”
Libertarian candidate? . Harry Mitchell thanks you.
You are right this is just going to help the Democrats in Congressional District 5. Wake up before it’s too late.
At least don’t promote the man as a Libertarian candidate. That will just elect Democrats.

Uh, Charles, do what you want with your party crew but if you’re calling the group “republican” please don’t subject us to a libertarian who’s actually running for office against real republicans.
Is this a costume party? I have a great one from last Halloween!
Mr. Jensen,
You should not be promoting a Libertarian candidate. Your answer doesn’t cut it. There is diversity of opinion within the Republican party. You could have come up with a Republican option for your idea of a format. If our Republican congressional nominee in 2010 loses to Mitchell by 500 votes and your Libertarian buddy gets a couple thousand, we will be able to thank you for giving us another 2 years of a Pelosi cheerleader.
A Libertarian Candidate as a speaker for a “Republican” event?! So much for taking CD-5 back. That’s just dumb and amateur.
It isn’t a good idea to have Libertarians at GOP events? Someone better tell Rob Haney! I hear Haney hijacks the agenda and pushes the MCRC deeper into irrelevancy with his loquacious libertarian lecturers.
