UPDATED: Uncivil Protest at Taxpayer Rally at the Arizona State Capitol

This is how the leftist operates. When was the last time you saw conservatives show up at a leftist rally blaring sirens, chanting, and toting “You’re a NAZI!” signs?

From the YouTube account P2012p:

“Uncivil anti-legal immigration activist and militant anarchist harass peaceable coalition of Pro-American, Pro-Arizonian Patriots meeting on Tax Day on the grounds of the Arizona State Capitol. Swastikas, Mexican Flags, Sirens, Mega-phones filled with foul mouth hate ridden shouts from a mob determine to disrupt and incite violence! It is all here!

How much you want to bet that you did not see this on your local news station?”

Maybe it’s time to identify these people and list their names here.

UPDATE – April 17th

Here is a mugshot of the individual arrested during the rally. His name is Timothy Ronald Coomer and is known as a Democratic agitator. Here is his mugshot available for viewing on the Maricopa County Sheriff’s website.

In the State of Oregon, leftist protesters also tried to shout down a Tea Party rally using the same tactics of vulgarity, profanity and anything but civil discourse. The Blaze has made video coverage of that event available.

  1. “When was the last time you saw conservatives show up at a leftist rally blaring sirens, chanting, and toting “You’re a NAZI!” signs?”

No, they just show up to their own rallies with those signs.

  2. “Maybe it’s time to identify these people and list their names here.”

And hey, let’s fight intimidation with intimidation…

  3. Steve Calabrese says

C’mon, Klute, I know you’re smarter than that…but basically, by saying:
“And hey, let’s fight intimidation with intimidation…”
…you just conceded that the leftists are using intimidation as a weapon.

    Thanks, dude. 🙂

    • Hey, it’s an effective tactic, used by both sides… I’m not going to lie and say something is what it isn’t. Intimidation isn’t necessarily pejorative. People protesting the Klan or the Westboro Baptist Church use intimidation to try to get them not to show up, but we don’t call it “intimidation”, we call it the “community coming together” or something.

But I’m not going to be a shrinking violet and wring my heads together like the pansy Carnelian Saloon is here. “Oh! Oh! These awful liberals are giving me the vapors! What is this world coming to when people with other opinions show up to our rallies! I may faint!”.

And then saying they’re going to publish the names of people? Why not just publish their home addresses and the times they’re not home too? It actually would work to stifle dissent, but that’s big “I” intimidation.

      • Carnelian Saloon says

        Klute,

Is it fair game for conservatives and tea party activists to show up at leftist gatherings using a bullhorn and shouting epithets and other incendiary incitations? Is that your definition of civil discourse?

        • “Is it fair game for conservatives and tea party activists to show up at leftist gatherings using a bullhorn and shouting epithets and other incendiary incitations?”

Seeing as how they do it all the time, yes. One of my first memories of Arizona was going to a pro-Gore rally during the 2000 recount at Patriot’s Square in downtown Phoenix, and watching as a group of rightist counterprotestors show up with a bullhorn, signs, and guns.

Or how that guy showed up at the Obama rally in downtown Phoenix with a loaded assault rifle and strutted around like he was a tough guy, thinking he could intimidate the pro-Obama people like a shark trawling through prawn, to quote Alex Ross. Didn’t work, but Lord did he try.

“Is that your definition of civil discourse?”

If the leftist protestors had been there peaceably, and I’m sure there were more than a few, you would have found something else to complain about. I remember when I went to the first Tea Party rally at the State Capitol (I was covering it for the Huffington Post), and there was this one section of people, where these older hippie types were just speaking their mind, not intimidating, couldn’t even be heard over whoever was speaking over the soundsystem, and this was jagoff was not two inches from the hippie’s face, just shouting at him, spittle-flecked, demanding to see his paycheck or other such dross.

You could care less about civil discourse or uncivil discourse, what you want is for everyone to do what you want and shut the hell up about it.

          IT’S… NOT… GOING… TO… HAPPEN.

So just accept that there’s going to be counter-protestors, sometimes loud and abusive, let the police handle the ones who get out of line, and go about your little rallies and tea parties and go home with that sense of self-satisfaction that only rindignation can give you.

  4. The story I did see on the local news was shamefully biased, and made sure to exclude the extent of the disruptions.

I have heard from several credible sources that at least one of the groups out there last night are paid to sit at the Capitol each day and harass those that come and go.

There was one easily identifiable group there supporting the illegal immigration activists – The Phoenix Urban Health Collective.

  5. Tea Party: Camera Ready

Useful for displaying to the entire world hypocrisy, outright lying and lovely court-room acceptable documentation for illegal activities.. like University of Wisconsin medical staff openly enabling fraud by providing “sick notes” without any medical examination, expressly so that lying AWOL teachers could get PAID for their illegal striking as the students they cared so much about sat outside locked school doors in the snow. If doctors who promote socialist agendas are willing to enable teachers to defraud in order to protect union interests, then all parties involved are already habituated to lying, so anything they CLAIM, on lurid demogogic signs, irate interviews and street posturing should be considered lies engineered to enable a particular political agenda.

Here in Arizona, a bystander camera is very helpful to police who get pummeled by glass bottles by peaceful illegal protesters. If one cannot help a police officer directly because of personal danger through mounting violence, providing the injured officers a photo that can help identify their sneaky attackers is certainly always appreciated. As for truthfulness, if someone has already lied to enter this country, lying about everything else in order to stay here is easy.

Circumstances require more than beyond the common-sense “Trust, but verify.” In these times, case, “Verify, then trust” is the only un-naive strategy.

  6. When I watch this clip from last night’s news, I am wondering what the message is:

    http://bcove.me/coxybkk4

Sure there were protestors; not excusing them. But who is the angry white man? And how are you trying to “hold politicians accountable” when the lead speakers are themselves subject to huge recent allegations and controversies, costing taxpayers millions?

Senator Pearce was pretty defensive when asked about his unfulfilled promise to produce proof of his recent statements.

Republicans, we need be ethically head and shoulders those who oppose us; otherwise, our message will be mocked and the title of “hypocrits” will be well-deserved. Clean your own glass houses and maybe the opponents will quit thowing stones.

    ……………………………………….

That is not possible. The Left routinely makes up accusations if they can’t find any.
Hysterically accusing Tea Party people of being NAZIs should be roundly condemned by ALL honest people, regardless of political party, but one side is conspiculously silent when they know it’s bunk. It’s useful to poison the atmosphere, so opponents will throw stones, regardless of the lie. It gives them just enough of a fig leaf of phony righteousness to justify acting abusive if they can demonize Republicans and Conservatives.

  8. Of course calling people Nazi’s in unacceptable. Unfortunately, it’s used by both sides..

Just saying there has been plenty of “bad publicity” arising from some high level Republicans that has incited plenty of criticism.

Also think the Tea Party could have chosen better spokespersons, given the current local environment of “bad news’ mostly aimed at our party. An event called “Feet to the Fire” is inviting bad press.

  9. Andy Bernard says

Whenever I’ve been down at the capitol there has been a healthy homeless population milling around. Now apparently someone has given them signs and bullhorns.

Different location, same message. Can we get Breitbart down in AZ?

  11. Andrew Breitbart is going to be in Tucson on April 30 for a Tucson Tea Party event.

Of course calling people Nazi’s in unacceptable. Unfortunately, it’s used by both sides..

    …………………………………

Yeah, yeah, but one side is using it all the time. NAZI has a clear, defined, dictionary meaning: National Socialist Party.
Calling free market Republicans and Conservatives “socialists” is, by the definitions, either a total ignorant confusion or a lie, isn’t it?

The Democrats are becoming much more open in their use of “socialist” to describe themselves. “greeen” policies have been detailed by former close Obama advisor, Van Jones, as “sociialism.” so calling them “socialists” is accurate, isn’t it?

And why the double standard? Democrats are allowed to be the worst human beings on the planet, excused for every abuse and manipualtion, but it’s OK because they aren’t “hypocrites.” But Republicans or Conservatives are required to be “perfect,” but that’s an impossibility. Republicans and Conservatievs are like everyone else – we have to work with what we have. Groveling to meet the opposition’s patently self-serving, contorting criteria is the first thing to label as “unacceptable.”

How about the Democrats improving their personal selves and public conduct of their DUTY to the People’s Business? “Not a hypocrite” could be said of the ax murderer who shrugs he shouldn’t be judged because he never signed on to the commandment, “Thou shalt not murder,” nor the liar will be let off for “it was fake but accurate.”

  13. William Crum says

To the Dem or the GOP, I would like to ask only one question: Who really benifit from a tax cut? .The rich or the moiddle class.

  14. Who benefits most from tax cuts? The middle class which works hard to become rich, by operating small business in trades, for example, like carpentry – at roughly $250,000 business off which the owner/operator can take home as annual salary anywhere from $50,000 to $100,000 after expenses, taxes, so forth.
The small business owner uses the small business as a springboard to the $1million – $2 million and so forth. Many never acheive that, but they sure want the opportunity.

No one remember the APPLE computer start – in Job’s garage? The taxation structure Obama is promoting would have cut Steve Jobs. Bill Gates, a hundred thousand aspiring entrepreneurs off at the knees. Remember how mansion-dweller Joe Biden laughed at plumbers for having the cheek to think they could want to make $250K a year? Well, yeah, Joe. With a good truck, two assistants and it’s possible.
It seems that the ONLY rich the Democrats want to tax are Republicans. How many of Obama’s Democrat Party affiliated cabinet are multi-millionaire, admitted tax evaders? The Democrats spend a lot of time passing tax laws they studiously avoid themselves. Surely Billionaire George Soros isn’t paying his fair share or he wouldn’t still be a billionaire, even after funding all his dozens of philanthropies like Media Matters. He obviously has too much money. How come he’s never invoked as a bad boy richy-rich and he’s richer than the Koch Bros combined?

Or maybe it isn’t about “rich” but a very explicit political agenda?

  15. SO how come there are people who have resumes that include,”Democrat Party agitator?”
Who would be proud of that? “I’m a Democrat who screams at people for a living.”

So what happens when one harrasses and screams at the dwindling number of people who produce their food, create the products they use and provide the services they expect?

  16. “So what happens when one harrasses and screams at the dwindling number of people who produce their food, create the products they use and provide the services they expect?”

Oh God, please tell me that was a threat to “go Galt”. Nothing is more hilarious than someone trying to barf up that little bit of Randian nonsense… It’s like watching a 7-year-old say he’s going to run away but barely makes it to the corner before he starts running back to Mama.

  17. “…is known as a democratic agitator.”

Are there any sources on that? I am not doubting based on the described behavior, but would just like to see an example if one is out there.

  18. Like the civil right-wing protestors that stand outside of abortion clinics? They don’t use intimidation as a tactic at all.

The bias in this article is appalling, is intimidation only ok when it is used by conservatives? Both sides do it, both sides are wrong. However, I’ve seen it far more on the right than the left. I actually had a student once admit that he was paid by a conservative group to pretend he was a liberal at a rally and to cause violence.

    • Andy Bernard says

I’ve prayed outside of abortion clinics during the 40 days to life campaigns. If muted prayers are intimidation, then left wing agitators are performing verbal assault and causing ptsd in Wisconsin. Quit being a drama queen. You complain about bias here but then consider your own anecdotes to be fact? Bro please.

      • “I’ve prayed outside of abortion clinics during the 40 days to life campaigns.”

I’d like to know what those prayers consisted of… Muted prayers can absolutely be intimidating depending on what the content is.

“…and causing ptsd in Wisconsin. Quit being a drama queen.”

I like the complete and total lack of awareness in this statement.

        • Andy Bernard says

I don’t think you get the comparison/sarcasm, which may or may not have been my fault

    ……………………………….

So, which rally was that and what violence did he perform for his pay?
You turn him over to the police for the violence he confessed to you?

  20. So,, like how come it’s so many white male (DD) Democrat Dudes who show up and cause trouble?
Shouldn’t the Democrat Party be running civility courses to get their males to calm down and learn how to attend rallies without making a scene?

  21. Lorraine McNulty says

@Klute: Don’t you work during the day? Because you seem to spend a lot of time berating conservatives on this website (and others) when you could be actually doing your job. Or is that beneath a liberal?

    • BZZZZT! Wrong answer, but thanks for playing.

      1. The last 5 days I’ve been performing in Nebraska, 2 days at Midland Lutheran University in Fremont, NE, and then at the Encyclopedia Show in Omaha, so this is part of my job – it keeps my acid pen sharp.

      and

      2. What makes you think my job is some dreary 9 to 5 job? While I put in 40+ hours a week at the company, my schedule is dynamic, much like me.

But since you’re so willing to sterotype, let’s play that game in reverse. “Lorraine” sounds like a Boomer or older generation name (I’m sure there are new Lorraines being born in 2011, Lorraine hasn’t been in the top 100 for a looong time). And you’re posting at 3:22PM in the afternoon. So, I’m assuming you’re sitting back, a little Glenn Beck on the TV, enjoying the fruits of my hard work with your monthly government checks, Social Security, Medicare, etc. because me and the rest of Gen X will pay more into the system than we’ll get back… So, you’re welcome Lorraine. I’ll keep producing, and you can leech off me all you want.

You can always spread the wealth by buying a copy of my latest book!
