Laura Pastor

An astute reader found this on the Mexican Consulate website – a photo of Laura Pastor, daughter of Congressman Ed Pastor, at a meeting with the Mexican Consulate on March 27th this year.

Laura Pastor is also a candidate for the Phoenix City Council, which of course begs the question, “Why is Laura Pastor meeting with the Mexican Consulate and why are they touting it on their website?” Is she already cutting deals for the City of Phoenix?

While my Spanish is all right, I’d appreciate a quick translation of this posting on Sonoran Alliance in our comments section.

  1. I think it says, “Thank you senorita Pastor for serving Mexico and its citizens like your father does. We are proud that you do not forget your allegiance to your heritage.”

  2. It says. This a rough but close translation. Kind of disturbing.

The lady Lauara Pator, daughter, of congressmen Laura Pastor, visited the installation of this consulate general.
The motive for her visit was to learn, first hand, the process that nationals go through to obtain documents, so to use the services the consulate gives. In actuality, the lady Pastor aspires to obtain a seat in the city council of the city of Phoenix. During the meeting with the the Consul General, Lady Pastor spoke of her support for the Mexican nationals needs, especially in the area of education, including distinct plans that she proposes to help.

TRANSLATION: (THIS PERSON DOESN’T EVEN HAVE THE SEAT YET AND INSTEAD OF LOOKING TO HOW SHE CAN HELP THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY WHOSE SEAT ON THE COUNCIL SHE WANTS, SHE IS INSTEAD LOOKING TO HELP JUST HER “OWN ETHNIC GROUP” – THIS IS CALLED “RACISM” OR “PREFERENCE FOR ONE’S OWN”) AND THIS IS “AIDING AND ABETTING” CRIMINALS):

Ms. Laura Pastor, daughter of the Congressman Ed Pastor, visited the facilities of the Consulate General. The reason for her visit was to familiarize herself, firsthand, with the procedures of the conationals in order to acquire documents, as well as the services that they receive from the Consulate. In actuality, Ms. Pastor is trying to obtain a seat on the City Council of the City of Phoenix. Together with the General Consul, Ms. Pastor spoke of the support that our conationals require, especially on the topics of education, as well as different plans that she is proposing to aid them.

(Gee, I wonder if these were Russian or Italian illegals if she would be visiting Russia and Italy in order to help get them legalized. I SURE DOUBT IT! Sure sounds like signs of nepotism and giving preference to your own ethnic group over everyone else’s!)

  4. Nepotism is giving preferential treatment for a friend or family member. Given the AZ Republic’s statistics yesterday- 56% of undocumented workers are from Mexico, with 22% were from south and east asia and Latin America. I think its good that candidates for any office who have throngs of illegals in their jurisdiction, familiarize themselves with laws and procedures regulating immigration. Its one thing to pontificate and post your opinions on blogs, but its quite another to be pro-active and really understand the issue.

  5. Was this actually in Mexico? or at the Mexican Consulate here in Phoenix?
