Wil Cardon Statement on President Obama’s FY2013 Budget

For Immediate Release: February 13, 2012
Contact: Katie Martin

Phoenix, Arizona – Wil Cardon, Mesa businessman and candidate for U.S. Senate, issued the following statement after President Obama released his FY2013 budget:

“President Obama’s budget promotes more government spending, higher taxes to fund that wasteful spending and more government debt for future generations. Regardless if you are Republican or Democrat, when looking at this budget from a business perspective, it is clear that President Obama has no real world business experience or concept of Main Street America.

“The President and Congress continue to play politics with the country’s budget and with $15 trillion of debt; we don’t have time for political theater. The President said today in a campaign stop in Virginia, ‘we can’t cut our way to growth.’ America needs a leader who understands that spending cuts will bring us to prosperity, and that more government spending is not the answer. Letting job creators do what they do best is the path to growth, but businesses are struggling to jump through the hoops of big government. Over regulation, higher taxes and Obamacare are three policies from this administration that result in less private sector growth. It is unfair for President Obama and this do-nothing Congress to continue to hinder business owners with their failed policies and political grandstanding.

“As a business owner, I know what it’s like to balance a budget, make payroll, and I have run my business for the last decade completely debt free. There is a way to do this on the national level, but when you have career politicians with zero private sector experience handling the budget, you get career politician results. This was President Obama’s final attempt to write and promote a budget that would fix our dismal economic outlook, but instead, he chose to use this opportunity to stay the course regardless of the disastrous results. We need business men and women to take over the nation’s budget. It is imperative that we send leaders to Washington who know what to do, have a willingness to do it and will get the job done.”

Phoenix, Arizona – Wil Cardon, Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, has received the endorsement of former U.S. Senate candidate Doug McKee. McKee recognized Cardon as a job creator and a consistent conservative with the ability to win as reasons why he is backing Wil Cardon as Arizona’s next United States Senator.

“Since launching my campaign, I’ve been incredibly encouraged by the feedback that I’ve received,” said McKee. “I am honored by the support that I have received but the more I have been out campaigning alongside Wil Cardon; the clearer it became that he is the man for the job. Wil’s background as a proven job creator, fiscal conservative, and as someone who is consistently strong on securing our borders represents our Arizona values. He exudes the character traits we need in our next U.S. Senator. Wil knows what it takes to balance budgets and spend within means. That is a concept the career politicians in Washington don’t understand. Wil isn’t afraid to shake up the status quo because he cares more about doing what is best for our state and not just worrying about the next election. I hope my supporters will recognize Wil’s strength and join me in supporting Wil’s campaign for the U.S. Senate.”

McKee’s support for Cardon was met with great delight as Cardon’s campaign recently announced the endorsement of Arizona businessman and sports management icon Jerry Colangelo. After announcing his departure from the Senatorial campaign, McKee threw his hat into the ring for the First Congressional District highlighting his private sector experience and true love of the U.S. Constitution.

Cardon said of the newest endorsement, “It is great to have Doug’s support. We have spent a lot of time together on the campaign trail and he has great ideas for Arizona. I am glad to have another true patriot on my team that is committed to bettering this country. I look forward to working with Doug as he campaigns for the First Congressional District and know that he will be a great option for voters.”

Doug McKee’s Biography:
Doug grew up in Darien, Connecticut and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Southern Connecticut State University. Prior to his moving out West he worked on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange where he was employed by a private specialist firm. His passion for the great outdoors brought him to Arizona in 1991 when he traded in his Wall Street attire for a good pair of work boots and a new career in the construction industry. He started Grand Canyon Development, a general contracting firm, in 1994 and has been building beautiful custom riverfront homes along the banks of the Colorado River ever since.

Doug has always had a great passion for politics and growing up during the “Reagan Era” he was quickly drawn to the Republican Party, developing his conservative values at a relatively early age. Doug is a true Constitutional Conservative and knows where government should begin and where it should end. He has always worked in the private sector and knows what it is like to earn a living with his hands. He knows what it’s like to own and run a business, to provide for his wife Lori and five children with the fruits of his labor. Ask anyone who has ever done business with Doug and they will all say the same thing – he is an honest, hardworking, fair and dedicated family man.

Cardon Praises Gov. Brewer for Standing up to President Obama’s Pro-Amnesty, Anti-Jobs Agenda

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 27, 2012
CONTACT: Katie Martin

Phoenix, Arizona – Wil Cardon, Mesa businessman and candidate for U.S. Senate, issued the following statement in light of President Obama and Governor Brewer’s Tarmac Showdown:

“I want to applaud Governor Brewer for her steadfast courage in standing up to President Obama. Arizonans understand that stopping illegal immigration and securing our border is a top priority and crucial to the prosperity of Arizona. President Obama, on the other hand, is for amnesty, refuses to fund efforts to keep our borders protected, and thinks we need to give in-state tuition to illegal immigrants.Arizonans can no longer afford to suffer the financial burdens and societal costs associated with illegal immigration. The president and the career politicians in Washington have created this problem with their continual refusal to protect our borders. If we want to get Arizonans back to work and ensure a long-term recovery we must secure our borders now. I applaud Governor Brewer for her courage and leadership.”

Phoenix, Arizona – Wil Cardon, Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, has received the endorsement of Arizona businessman and sports management icon Jerry Colangelo. Cardon’s campaign is continuing to build strength across Arizona and this latest endorsement is generating buzz throughout the business community.

“This endorsement from Jerry Colangelo is a great addition to the momentum my campaign is receiving,” said Cardon. “Having Jerry on my team shows that we are building a coalition of strong business minded individuals who are confident in my ability to be a successful United States Senator and get Arizona back to work. I am very proud to have his endorsement and I am glad he is confident in my vision as Arizona’s next United States Senator.”

Jerry Colangelo highlighted Wil’s tireless commitment to doing what is best for Arizona as one of the many reasons he is endorsing Cardon. Mr. Colangelo’s endorsement comes just weeks after Cardon’s Finance Committee Co-Chairs were announced. This endorsement from Mr. Colangelo coupled with Cardon’s impressive team of Finance Co-Chairs shows great strength going into the 2012 election year.

“Wil Cardon is the leader Arizona needs in the United States Senate,” said Colangelo. “Wil’s ideas and track record of creating jobs in the current economic climate is impressive and should be a tell-tale sign of his ability to get the job done in Washington. As a conservative outsider, Wil is not afraid to make the tough decisions necessary and that is an important trait we need in our next U.S. Senator. Wil Cardon is the only one in the race who I feel confident in having the skills and ability to see our state through these tough times and do what is best for all Arizonans. That is why I am endorsing Wil Cardon to be our next United States Senator from the great state of Arizona.”

Phoenix, Arizona – President Obama will hold a rally Wednesday in Chandler and conservatives want to know; will Congressman Flake be there to support his pro-amnesty, Washington insider friend Barack Obama?

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Congressman Flake was in the front row of President Obama’s rally,” said Katie Martin. “The Congressman is in lock step with the president’s policies and has voted repeatedly to help push through President Obama’s liberal agenda. It is time that Congressman Flake owns up to his Pro-Obama record and apologizes for voting against Arizonans.”

Cardon on President Obama’s State of the Union Address: The President’s ‘Say One Thing But Do Another’ Mentality Must Stop

President claims he wants job creation on heels of killing 20,000 American jobs!

Phoenix, Arizona – Following this evening’s State of the Union address by President Barack Obama, Mesa businessman and candidate for U.S. Senate, Wil Cardon, issued the following comments:

“President Barack Obama addressed a nation that is suffering from record high unemployment and an economic climate that is full of uncertainty. Arizona, along with the entire nation, is looking for assurance from the president during these bleak economic times. Instead, Arizonans received more of the same partisan rhetoric that leads to inaction from the president and our do-nothing Congress. As we watch our families, friends, and neighbors struggle to make ends meet, Washington continues to offer fluffy speeches that theorize about job creation instead of listening to those who have experience in creating jobs.

Wil Cardon has repeatedly called on President Obama to stop worrying about pandering to his political party and urged the president to lead our country.

“Tonight, President Obama called for the creation of American jobs and an American energy initiative. This pro-job, pro-energy independence message comes just a week after the president blocked the Keystone XL Pipeline which killed 20,000 jobs and hindered America’s ability to become independent from Middle Eastern oil. The president’s ‘say one thing but do another’ mentality must stop. We can’t allow his ideologically-driven agenda, which panders to the extreme of his party, continue to crush small business in this country.

“The career politicians in Washington are tone deaf to what is happening in our communities and they are failing our nation. I am running for the United States Senate because in my family we have a saying which is, ‘leave things better than you found them.’ For the first time in the history of our great country, we are in danger of being the first generation that leaves things worse. I don’t know about Congress or President Obama, but that is unacceptable to me. Now is the time to send a new generation of leadership to Washington.”

US Senate Candidate Wil Cardon: Congress Has 84% Disapproval Rating. Time for the Pink Slips!

For Immediate Release: January 17, 2012
Contact: Katie Martin

Proven job creator and conservative outsider calls for new leaders in Washington

Phoenix, Arizona – Wil Cardon, Mesa businessman and candidate for U.S. Senate, issued the following statement after a new poll by the Washington Post and ABC News showed Congress has an embarrassing 84 percent disapproval rating:

“In what other business would an employee still have their job if 84 percent of their bosses disapproved of their performance? These career politicians in Washington are failing our country. It seems that members of Congress have forgotten that we, the American people, are their boss and it is time they are given a pink slip for their poor job performance.

“Across Arizona, families are struggling, jobs have vanished, home values have plummeted, taxes are too high, and unfair government regulations are stifling business growth. Record spending and debt threaten our nation’s stability and our children’s future. The politicians in Washington either don’t get it or they don’t care. With an 84 percent disapproval rating I urge voters to send these career politicians a clear message that we have had enough. I am running for the U.S. Senate because as a job creator and a conservative outsider I want to bring a new generation of leadership to our nation’s Capital.”

Wil Cardon: Obama Administration Wrong for Reducing Troops on Border

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 20, 2011
CONTACT: Katie Martin

Phoenix, Arizona – Wil Cardon, candidate for U.S. Senate, issued the following statement after the Obama Administration announced they will reduce the number of National Guard Troops on the border from 1200 to 300 this coming January:

“The decision to reduce troops on our border by the Obama Administration is unconscionable. The federal government’s abandonment of its responsibility to secure the border is alarming and frustrating. This new announcement shows how out of touch with reality the Obama Administration truly is. Our communities cannot afford less support from the federal government to protect our border. A porous border threatens our safety, curtails our quality of life, and diminishes the economic opportunity of hardworking Americans. I am running for the U.S. Senate because we need a leader in Washington who has the wisdom and the courage to act decisively and secure our borders once and for all.”

Congressman Flake Votes for a Tax Hike and Against American Jobs

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 13, 2011
CONTACT: Katie Martin

Phoenix, Arizona – Congressman Flake voted Tuesday to increase taxes by an average of $1000 a year for all American working families and voted against a new oil pipeline project that would create more than 20,000 new jobs. The Congressman voted against H.R. 3630, which will extend the payroll tax holiday and allow for the Keystone XL Pipeline to be constructed.

“Congressman Flake has been in Washington so long that he doesn’t understand Arizonans need lower, not higher taxes and America needs jobs,” said Wil Cardon, candidate for U.S. Senate. “Career politicians like Congressman Flake just don’t get it.

“The Congressman’s vote to deny working Arizonans more take home pay will continue to hurt working families in this bad economy. Additionally, Congressman Flake’s vote against creating 20,000 new jobs is unconscionable. But what can you expect from a politician who has never spent a day in the private sector, nor ever created a single job.

“In the Senate, I will fight every day to grow our economy by cutting taxes, reducing spending and promoting pro-growth policies that help businesses create jobs. That’s why I am running for the U.S. Senate.”

Last week, Cardon called for comprehensive pro-growth tax reform to fix the country’s dire economic situation and create a stable environment for job creators.
