Arizona Republican Party Chairman Debate Comes to Mohave County – Robert Graham Wins

Word out of Kingman in Mohave County is that Robert Graham owned the room in the debate against Doug Little.

Doug Little arrived to the event late. Present were about 30-40 people which is a great turnout for a GOP candidate’s debate. Newly-elected Senator Kelli Ward was also in attendance.

Graham completely worked the room – talking to everyone before the lunch-meeting started.

Doug Little didn’t appear to move around the room that much only talking to a few people. Graham passed out shirts, buttons, flyers, yard signs and palm cards while Little made an effort to cover up Graham’s flyers on the tables with his own flyers.

Little spoke first. Graham spoke second. When Little launched into his speech, he attacked Graham’s age arguing that he thought Graham was too young to be Chairman. Little also attacked Graham for fighting for the defeat of a tax increase initiative in California – never mind the fact that Graham was extremely active supporting Arizona congressional candidates AND the effort to defeat the Open Primary initiative and Prop 204. Somewhere along the road, Little forgot to hold to the candidate agreement of staying above the negativity.

When Graham spoke, his ideas and vision were well received throughout the room. Compared to Doug Little, Robert Graham’s remarks, vision and ideas were night and day.

When both candidates took questions, someone asked about their thoughts on the United Nations. Little responded first and said that he did not believe that the US should withdraw from the UN. Most people in the room were shocked. Graham’s response to the same question was the opposite. That resulted with the entire room erupting in applause. (Little tried to take back his comments during the applause.)

When the debate adjourned, Little didn’t stay more than fifteen minutes while Graham remained until the last person departed.

It certainly appears that Graham has locked up Mohave County Republicans!

Don’t miss the next Arizona Republican Party Chairman debate tomorrow night – Tuesday, January 22 – to be held in Chandler at Tri-City Baptist Church located at 2211 W. Germann Road, Chandler. Debate starts at 7:30 PM. Be there if you care about the future of the Arizona Republican Party!

Sonoran Alliance has endorsed Robert Graham for Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party.

Finally, we have posted Chairman LaFaro’s speech in entirety:

Good morning –

I’m A. J. LaFaro and I want to be your next Chairman of the Maricopa County Republican Committee.

During these past four months I’ve traveled thousands of miles, met thousands of wonderful people and lost several pounds – and for that I thank you. The journey has been arduous but fun and not without it’s bumps along the way.

This morning, we’ve come to a fork in the road.

You have two choices – you can turn to the left and vote for my opponent or you can turn to the right and vote for A. J. LaFaro keeping the MCRC an independent and unbiased voice of the people.

Why should I be your next Chairman?

I have the proven executive skills and talents to help lead the Maricopa County Republicans during these next two years. Challenging years to defend against the progressive socialists, liberal Democrats and the unions continued attempt to turn Arizona Blue.

My executive leadership skills include being a good planner, organizer, communicator, team builder and a good listener. But more importantly – I’m pragmatic. The top priorities of the Chairman should be raise funds and be the public voice of the Maricopa County Republican Party.

The Maricopa County Republican Committee is made up of twenty legislative districts. Each one a unique franchise. Your neighborhoods, communities, school districts and cities have personalities of their own just like the people we elect to represent us.

My opponent says our party is broken and needs to be fixed. Her plan – not the peoples plan – speaks to a few vague issues that maybe symptoms but will never address the fundamental problem with our party.

The divisiveness and bitter in-fighting amongst our groups.

We all call ourselves Republicans and under that umbrella we have people who are right of center all the way to far right. During my travels I’ve even met some left of center.

There’s probably four groups we align ourselves with – the establishment, the conservatives, the Tea Partiers and the Ron Paul supporters. Each with unique ideologies and beliefs. Many are the same – some are not.

If elected your next Chairman, I would immediately call for a détente of these four groups to come together, clearly identify our common and unique ideologies.

I’m confident one strong common goal we all can agree on is to win elections. To beat the progressive socialists, the liberal Democrats and the unions continued attempt to turn Arizona Blue.

We have a challenging task ahead of us these next two to four years as we fight for God, family and country.

You have the opportunity to elect Team LaFaro today – a stronger team with a much stronger message to help defeat our enemies.

I’m asking for your vote and support for A. J. LaFaro, April Riggins, Jose Borrajero, Jeni White and David Ludwig so we can keep Arizona Red – Dark Red!

Ronald Reagan once said:

“Without God, democracy will not and cannot long endure.”

In closing, I want to say may God bless you and God bless America!

Getting Back to the Basics – Our Plan to Build the Party

Arizona Party Builders

We can be on the “right” side of the issues but as we learned the hard way, if we don’t communicate them, raise money, recruit conservative candidates, register voters and get voters to the polls we will not win elections. We must get back to the basics and build the infrastructure of our party if we are going to succeed. Our plan will prepare us for victory in 2014 and beyond.

Below is an outline of our plan to build the Maricopa County Republican Party.

1. Build Our Party’s Image and Effectiveness
We will work to “Build Our Party” by increasing our fundraising efforts, developing leaders, providing the tools to make the grassroots strong and effective, and greatly expanding our online and social media presence.

2. Build Strong Voter Registration and Get Out The Vote (GOTV) Programs
It’s a simple equation: Register more voters and get them out to vote and we win!

3. Provide Training and Resources for Precinct Committeemen (PCs)
PCs are only powerful if they are trained and equipped. We will provide them the tools they need to be effective.

4. Provide Training and Resources for District Chairmen and Officers
Districts will thrive with strong, effective leaders. We will provide the tools and support to help district chairmen and their teams be successful!

5. Recruit, Train and Support Candidates for All Offices
All politics is local. We will help districts to recruit, train and support Republicans to run for office at all levels. Our goal is to have a Republican in every race. If we are going to prepare for the future it is imperative that we begin recruiting and preparing the next generation of leaders.

Meet the Team: Lisa Gray

Arizona Party Builders

Lisa Gray

Candidate for Chairman
Lisa Gray
I am running for Maricopa County Republican Committee Chairman because I love our Party, our Principles, and want future generations of Americans to enjoy the same freedoms that we have. My goal as your Chairman is to get back to the basics and BUILD OUR PARTY! We are desperately in need of a reboot and my team and I are the leaders with the experience and PROVEN track records to do this. Words on a resume don’t mean anything if results and accomplishments don’t back them up.

When you review my resume you will see that I have been very committed, involved and elected to many leadership positions. In each position that I have been fortunate to serve in, I had a plan and a unified team with a vision that worked to make each organization more effective. I have also been recognized through various awards for my leadership, hard work and dedication.

As I have visited with Precinct Committeemen, District leaders and elected officials across the County, a common thread that I see, is that there are amazing people in our Party, who want to work together and WIN elections. TOGETHER WE CAN DO THIS!

Meet the Team: Paul Brierley

Arizona Party Builders

Paul Brierley

Candidate for 1st Vice Chairman

I am running for 1st Vice Chairman of the Maricopa County Republican Committee because I know what our party can be if we work together for a common cause – electing Republicans! My style of leadership can be summed up in a few words: Thorough, Fair and Effective. As Graham County Chairman, I started a trend of increased Republican registration and Republican office holders, and we were named “Most Improved County” by the AZGOP. As the LD21 (Chandler) Chairman, we raised money, trained and equipped PCs, and were named “Best District” by the AZGOP.

Leadership is about equipping our Precinct Committeemen to be the best activists they can be, no matter what stripe of Republican they might be. When our leaders are bent on being activists themselves, they automatically divide the party. When our leaders fundraise and train and equip our PCs, we unite behind a common cause. I am thrilled to be on the Arizona Party Builders team, because Lisa Gray and the entire team have proven themselves with this style of leadership. Elect our team, and you WILL SEE RESULTS!

Candidate for 2nd Vice Chairman

Hello, I am running for re-election as your MCRC 2nd Vice Chairman. Per the bylaws, my primary role is to be our liaison to Republican Clubs and Organizations.
