Samuel J. “Joe The Plumber” Wurzelbacher on JD Hayworth

While the mainstream media has been obsessed with Sarah Palin’s visit to Arizona, Samuel J. “Joe The Plumber” Wurzelbacher also made a stop to the Grand Canyon State.

On Friday, he was at the Arizona State Capitol along with citizen activists and members of the Arizona Chapter of Americans for Prosperity. In this clip, “Joe The Plumber” provides a ringing review of U.S. Senate candidate, J.D. Hayworth.

On Sunday, “Joe The Plumber” again made another appearance as the Tea Party Express rolled into Phoenix. There, he addressed the crowd with an assessment of the current political climate, the importance of asking questions and making sure his fellow citizen activists work hard to restore the Republic in 2010.

J.D. Hayworth To Formally Launch Conservative Challenge To John McCain On February 15th

PHOENIX, ARIZONA. FEBRUARY 2, 2010. After filing the necessary paperwork last week, conservative J.D. Hayworth will formally launch his Republican primary challenge to 24-year incumbent John McCain on February 15th.

A temporary web site — www.JD2010.com — has been established to collect donations prior to the launch of the campaign and permanent web site on February 15th.

More announcement details will be released in the coming days.

Since leaving his radio talk show to pursue this conservative challenge, Hayworth has already garnered endorsements, donations and grassroots enthusiasm such as his straw poll thumping of Senator McCain at the Maricopa County Republican Party’s annual meeting ten days ago.

Vulnerable to the more conservative Hayworth on taxes, social issues and illegal immigration, McCain has resorted to attacking Hayworth on spending, despite Hayworth having a better lifetime rating from Citizens Against Government Waste.

McCain also voted for the $850 billion bailout of the big banks, which included $150 billion in pork, proposed a $300 billion bailout for mortgage lenders and, according to the Heritage Foundation, sponsored an amnesty bill in 2007 that would have cost taxpayers $2.6 trillion over the long-term.

“Chuck Todd and many others are right. This will be one of the hottest races in the country because this will be democracy at its very best. It will be an intense debate between a moderate with a transparent election year conversion and a conservative willing to respect but also stand up to the flip-flops and unreliability of a moderate masquerading as a maverick,”. Hayworth said.

“John, long a crusader against big money in politics will, ironically, try to use his special interest millions to silence our enthusiastic conservative support,” Hayworth said. “Arizonans, who are tired of a senator seeking to please the Washington elites, will rally to our cause and lead us to victory August 24th.”

East Valley Tea Party Holds “Superbowl of Candidates”

Today, the East Valley Tea Party organization conducted its first “Superbowl of Candidates.” Like the Tea Party movement across the country, it was a roaring success. Plenty of candidates attended including more gubernatorial candidates than I knew were running (Tim Willis, Bruce Olsen, Steven Slaton, Ray Yount, Buz Mills, Governor Jan Brewer and Treasurer, Dean Martin). Other statewide candidates included John Huppenthal, Margaret Dugan, Ted Carpenter, Thayer Verschoor, Barbara Leff, Brenda Burns, Gary Pierce, Taj Oladiran and Congressional candidates, Janet Contreras, David Schweikert, Chris Salvino, Eric Wnuck, Easton Kelsey and Jeff Smith. County Attorney candidate, Bill Montgomery also attended.

State legislative candidates also attended including Russell Pearce, Kirk Adams, James Molina, Adam Armer, Kelly Townsend, Brett Petillo, JD Mesnard, Jeff Vance, John Fillmore and Scott Bergren.

US Senate candidates Chris Simcox and Jim Deakin rounded out the list but the biggest pleasant surprise to appear was former congressman and soon to announce US Senate candidate, J.D. Hayworth.

Hayworth was a big hit with the crowd and he was continually prompted by supporters to challenge John McCain in the Republican Primary. The recent conservative talk show host is planning to formally announce some time in the next three weeks but is raising money in what will be a challenge against McCain’s multi-million dollar political machine. Grassroots supporters are already coming out of the fields asking how to give to his campaign. The campaign website is up and running and taking donations online and the support is coming in from all over the country.

Here are a few photos from today’s event featuring JD Hayworth and Congressional candidate, Janet Contreras, whom we helped debut right here on Sonoran Alliance.

JD Hayworth Going Live, Going National!

JD HayworthIf you haven’t noticed already, JD Hayworth is about to launch a major challenge to Senator John McCain. This statewide race is about to go national as indicated by JD’s media appearances in the last 24 hours. He’s been all over the radio from Denver to Philadelphia and San Diego back to Phoenix. Tonight he appears on nationally syndicated Lars Larson’s show at 6:30 but before that, you’ll be able to watch him play Hardball with Chris Matthews at 3:30 (Here’s the lead up story from the other night).

There’s no doubt that this race will go national – even more so than the Florida Primary where Governor Charlie Crist is facing a challenge from Marco Rubio for the Florida Senate seat.

Sonoran Alliance is being hammered by requests for how to contact and support JD Hayworth as his campaign ramps up. Although his website is not up and running, it should be within the next 24 hours. (Watch for it at www.JDHayworth2010.com) In the meantime, if you want to donate to the campaign please send donations to:
