Republican Faction Just Can’t Let It Go

By Millennial Maven

What the liberal mainstream media and Democrat elites are doing to President Trump is despicable. They tried to de-legitimize his election and cast doubt on it. Now they are putting off approving his nominees. Obama hold overs in the agencies are leaking information to try and damage the Trump administration. People are trying to make it impossible for President Trump to build the team he needs to accomplish the promises he campaigned and won on.

The same thing is happening in our own state GOP. Last month, Jonathan Lines, Gabby Mercer and Bob Lettieri were all fairly elected…from the credentialing process to the vote tabulation, the process was clear, open and transparent. No challenges were lodged to the credentials report, and no issues were raised during or immediately after the credentials committee submitted and the state body unanimously approved the credentials report. Now, Mercer and Tim Horne (not an elected State Officer) wants to undermine the election process, the credentials committee, and the duly elected State Committeeman by going on a self-proclaimed “fishing expedition.”

In further evidence of Mercer’s disruptive agenda are the events that took place on the morning of February 21, 2017. Chairman Lines invited Mercer to the State Party to review all of the documents that she is responsible for and begin planning the upcoming Excomm meeting. Instead, Mercer arrived with Horn, along with Timothy Schwartz, and the three of them proceeded to badger and threaten AZ GOP staff. While Secretary Mercer had requested a number of documents to review, it was clear that her only intention, and the only intention of her group, was to attempt to obtain control of the proxy forms and credentialing documents, ostensibly to remove them from the office. For obvious reasons, these demands were rejected, causing another round of belligerence and threats.

Like the Democrats and mainstream media in Washington, DC, it’s time for O’Connor and his minions to accept the results of the election and move on. While it’s true that the race was close, Lines actually won by three times as many votes as Bob Lettieri, our new treasurer. Yet neither Eric Morgan nor Wes Harris has attempted to challenge the results.

To review:  The credentials report was given multiple times and less people voted in each of the three elections than were credentialed and yet they continue to try and cast doubt on Chairman Lines term as chairman. They continuously spread rumors, attack his staff, and now Mercer, Horne and Schwartz want to review all the proxies and look for non-existent “fraud. This is a direct attack not only on Chairman Lines, but on the dozens of activists, credentials committee volunteers and State Committeemen who openly and transparently conducted the election.

Never before has a new chairman been attacked so much in his first month in office. Chairman Lines hasn’t attended his first RNC meeting yet,  hasn’t been given the time to get his team in place, nor has he even had his first fundraiser and executive committee meeting. Yet the constant campaign, procedural maneuvers, rumors, and fake news have been designed to keep him from governing.

Let’s hope the AZGOP has had enough of the nonsense and is ready to move forward as a board and as a body to accomplish conservative victories and elections success here in Arizona. Don’t let LD 23 and the AZRA club disrupt our ability to have success in Arizona as we work to Make America Great Again.

Herman Cain to Visit Tucson, Endorse Gabriela Saucedo Mercer for Congress in AZ-03

TUCSON, AZ – The campaign for Gabriela Saucedo Mercer is pleased to announce former Presidential Candidate Herman Cain will be visiting Tucson on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. Cain will be attending an event supporting Gabby’s candidacy for the U.S. House Of Representatives in Arizona’s congressional District 3. The event will take place from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at The Viscount Hotel located at 4855 E. Broadway in Tucson.

Gabriela Saucedo Mercer endorsed by Arizona State Representative Brenda Barton

TUCSON, AZ – The office of Congressional Candidate Gabriela Saucedo Mercer announced she has received the endorsement of Arizona State Representative Brenda Barton.

Rep. Barton released the following statement today:

“Gabriela Saucedo Mercer, a naturalized citizen carries on that torch of freedom that brought so many to our shores. Outspoken, feisty Gabby disarms you with her easy laugh and willingness to listen. She’ll work hard for Arizona; she’ll work hard for the country she chose as her own. I am quite pleased and honored to lend my name as endorsing Gabriela Saucedo Mercer for Congress. She’ll make us proud and she won’t boycott Arizona!!”

Candidate Saucedo Mercer has released the following response:

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of State Legislator Brenda Barton. She has been serving the people of Arizona and understands what it takes to represent the people. She has been an inspiration to me. She also encouraged me to apply to the Dodie Londen Excellence in Public Service Series program which prepared me to run for office. Again, I am honored and very grateful for her support.”

Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett Endorses Gabriela Saucedo Mercer for Congress

TUCSON, AZ – The following statement was delivered by Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett:

“If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result, voters should elect Gabriela Saucedo Mercer to Congress and stop the madness. Gabby understands the issues that matter most to the residents of southern Arizona. From education to jobs and the economy, it is time that we have a new advocate in Washington.

“Gabby’s candidacy offers southern Arizona voters a real opportunity to end a decade of ineffective representation. Unbelievably, Congressman Grijalva led the charge for an economic boycott of his own state two years ago. Don’t we need a voice in Washington to fight for us, not against us? Let’s send Gabby to Washington to be a part of the solution, not the problem.”

Gabriela Saucedo Mercer welcomes the endorsement by Secretary of State Ken Bennett and responded to the announcement earlier today.

“I thank Secretary of State Ken Bennett for his announcement today to endorse my campaign for Congress. Indeed, it is time for new leadership in Congressional District 3. For ten years, the district has been misrepresented by the incumbent. The Secretary of State recognizes the need for southern Arizonans to have their voices represented in our United States Congress. It is an honor to have his support, and I thank Ken Bennett for helping to lead our state toward better days ahead.”

Gabriela Saucedo Mercer Delivers Statement on Affordable Health Care Act Supreme Court Decision

TUCSON, AZ
– The Supreme Court has provided an opportunity for the people  of The United States to be included in the debate on the Affordable Health Care Act (ACA). Now that the Court has ruled the individual mandate, though unconstitutional under the Commerce Clause, can be upheld under the enumerated power of Congress to tax, it is time for Congress to perform as promised in 2010 for the complete repeal of ACA. With repeal, there will be an opportunity then for Americans to join the debate they were denied in 2009 on how to best reform our healthcare system which has been plagued by bureaucracy and fraud for decades.

President Obama is on record with the claim that the ACA was not a tax, but his lawyers defended the act as a tax during arguments. This historic decision has increased the scope and reach of the power of the Federal government to tax and regulate behavior. Small businesses and the middle class will suffer financially under the biggest permanent tax increase in our nation’s history. If the ACA continues to be implemented, it will only expedite the destruction of free market principles and freedom of health care choices for all Americans.

I am optimistic because the Court’s decision has by default given the decision back to Congress and We the People. We are blessed to live in a Constitutional Federal Republic and a government that is of the people, by the people and for the people. Through this next critical election, we can send a message to Washington by electing representatives to Congress who will bring the power back to the people and stop the encroachment of government.

Gabriela Saucedo Mercer will fight for real immigration reform, endorses Krentz Plan

(TUCSON) – Congressman Raul Grijalva’s Republican challenger, Gabby Saucedo Mercer is calling for real immigration reform. The conservative activist, Saucedo Mercer, endorses the Krentz plan for border security and supports real immigration reform, including a documented worker program along the lines of the old “Bracero” guest worker program.

Grijalva continues his exploitation of difficult social issues for his political purposes. He does not seek solutions, only seeks to create more confusion and acrimony. Last week, Raul Grijalva, with his fellow progressives in Congress, filed a challenge to Arizona’s SB 1070. While many states across the country have similar laws, in April 2010, the Congressman called for a boycott of his own constituents in protest of the Arizona law.

In the press conference called to address his amicus brief, Grijalva and other progressives, including Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, exploited the recent killing of Trayvon Martin, the teenager killed in an altercation with a neighborhood-watch volunteer.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, said a law like SB 1070 will give police “the right to be judge and jury,” which could have disastrous results “in a nation where we all are different. In one case, a hoodie equals suspicion,” she said. “In another case, it is a tanness of your skin, or the coloration of your skin, or maybe the configuration of your face,” according to an AP article.

“To sensationalize and exploit a young man’s death, to argue against national security and the state of Arizona’s attempt to protect itself when the Federal government has failed to do so, is at best dangerous; it is shameful,” said Saucedo Mercer.

Just this month Emilia Palomino-Robles, 42 of Sonora, Mexico, was sentenced to prison, for her role in an attempt to purchase military-grade weaponry that was ultimately destined for export and transfer to a Mexican drug trafficking organization in the Republic of Mexico. The cartel attempted to buy:

  • A Dragon Fire anti-tank weapon;
  • Two AT-4s (an 84-mm unguided, portable, single-shot recoilless smoothbore weapon);
  • A Law Rocket (a Light Anti-Tank Weapon);
  • A Stinger Missile (a portable infrared homing anti-aircraft surface-to-air missile);
  • Two Def Tech grenade launchers and a dozen 40 mm grenades;
  • One M-60 machine gun;
  • One .30 caliber machine gun; and
  • Three cases of hand grenades

“Every day the people of Arizona and our country are at risk from the federal government’s failure to protect our national security and the security of our neighborhoods. Grijalva would rather play politics with our lives than get down to the business of supporting real immigration reform and border security.”

The Krentz plan was developed by Arizona cattleman in response to the shooting death of Southern Arizona rancher Rob Krentz.

Grijalva has little support from fellow Democrats, voters prefer Gabriela Saucedo Mercer

TUCSON, AZ – In a survey of Southern Arizona voters, over 78% of Democrats and Independents disapproved or strongly disapproved of Congressman Raul Grijalva’s performance as their congressman. Republican challenger, Gabriela Saucedo Mercer is the preferred choice of Independents and Republicans.

Congressman Grijalva called for a boycott of Arizona in his protest of immigration law passed by the state’s legislature. He struggled to secure a win in his last race for Congress against Republican opponent, Ruth McClung.

In the same poll, when asked which candidate voters favored between his new Republican opponent Gabriela Saucedo Mercer and Grijalva, 65% of Democrats and 43% of Independents choose Saucedo Mercer, and 30% of Democrats and 19% of Independents were undecided.

“The congressman turned his back on the people of Arizona. Rather than working with them on the difficult issues facing our region, he called for a boycott. At a time when other representatives were fighting to bring jobs back home to their states, Grijalva was destroying jobs in our state. When I get to the Capitol, I will work to create policies that will allow small business owners to put America and Arizona back to work,” said Saucedo Mercer.

The poll was commissioned by Arizona Strategies.

Southern Arizona Machinations & Prognostications

Interesting predictions coming from our kindred-blogger in Southern Arizona, James Kelly at The Cholla Jumps. Here’s Jim’s latest post:

The weekend has heated up with rumors flying all over the place….

Political alliances are being formed and many being broken, The Tea Party and The Occupy Wall Street folks are actually agreeing on certain points..

The largest previous benefactor of the Pima GOP has taken back the reins of the party telling a moneyed audience ” I’ll take care of the party, you take care of the candidates..”

The Pima Democratic Party begins to move away from the Progressive Socicalists, will Raul Grijalva and his machine survive the political purge? Will that political survivalist Chuck Huckleberry swing right?

Ruth McClung comes roaring back, Clear Channel Communications will help redefine her as a centrist as she mulls support of Gabby Giffords/ Mark Kelly campaign.

Is Sharon Bronson done, will Gabby Saucedo Mercer get a come to Jesus moment to run against her?

Redistricting for the Congressional Districts are going to go to court, a federal judge will draw the lines for the 2012 races. But what about the Legislative Districts? Those will most likely stand. Who is in, who is out? Look for old LD 26 and 28 to be battlegrounds. 27 and 29 will continue to be safe for the Democrats. The old 30 will look similar to its present state with a few more Eastside Republicans packed in.

The Dems and the GOPers are identifying their sacrificial races as I write.

Jonathan Rothschild is out, Rick Grinell is in. Shirley Scott is looking to see what she wins from the machine after she loses her race. SunTran anyone? RTA Commissioner? The verdict is still out on Cunningham/Rawson match-up, as of today Rawson has the edge but Cunningham still has the family connections to give him something after his loss. Commissioner of Soccer/Sports Authority job?

Rio Nuevo news is interesting. As the State takes back control of the TIF, look for a business consortium to buy the lease ( at a discount) from the City of Tucson for the Giffords Family Trust property at 22nd and I-10. Do’t want that thorny issue of taxpayer money funding a Gabby Giffords/ Mark Kelly campaign again.

Politics On The Rocks Event This Thursday Night!

Politics on the Rocks is excited to announce our next Happy Hour Networking Event featuring Sheriff Paul Babeu, Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane, and CD7 Candidate Gabby Mercer on Thursday, March 24th 6:00 PM at Revolver Lounge in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Sheriff Paul Babeu will be presented with the annual Politics on the Rocks Ronald Reagan Leadership Award at the event for his service and dedication to Arizona. We would like to thank our marketing partner Gem Ray and Scottsdale Nights.

The National Sheriffs’ Association recently named Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu as recipient of the 2011 Ferris E. Lucas Award for Sheriff of the Year. An NSA statement described Babeu as “one of the most progressive sheriffs in the country” and cited his strong stand against illegal immigration and Mexican cartels as having garnered statewide and national attention. Babeu graduated from the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy number one in his class. His civilian education includes an Associate’s Degree in Law Enforcement, Bachelor’s Degree in History/Political Science and a Master of Public Administration, Summa Cum Laude.

Mayor W. J. “Jim” Lane served for four years on the Scottsdale City Council beginning in June 2004, and began his first term as Mayor in January 2009. Mayor Lane served on the 2002 Scottsdale Fire & EMS Advisory Committee, which was convened to evaluate and make recommendations to the city regarding the desired level of fire and emergency medical services relative to cost. His community service also includes six years on the Scottsdale Paradise Valley YMCA Board of Management. He chaired the 1999 Kids Campaign annual fund raising effort. Mayor Lane holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.

Gabriela Saucedo Mercer lives on Tucson’s west side with her husband of 24 years, Ted Mercer. Gabriela, “Gabby” for short, set aside her work career with a defense electronics firm in order to raise her 3 children and continue her education. As the kids were growing up Gabriela became more and more concerned about the direction that her adopted country had taken in recent years. She legally emigrated to the U.S. from Mexico in 1986 in order to live in a nation full of opportunity and Constitutional protections of individual liberties. She became a proud U.S. citizen in 1991.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our Happy Hour Networking event on Thursday, March 24th at 6:00 PM at Revolver Lounge in Scottsdale.
