President Obama on Friday issued an edict declaring that more than 800,000 illegal aliens would be granted amnesty and allowed to legally live and work in the United States.Congressional District One candidate Douglas Wade released the following video in response to Obama’s announcement:
Today our rulers issued a decree. Obama and Janet Napolitano issued a policy edict virtually granting legal status to younger, illegal immigrants in this country . . . this is an unconstitutional end-run around Congress. . .”
However, just two days before at a Saddlebrooke candidate forum, Douglas Wade made completely contradictory remarks about his position on illegal immigration. In fact, according to Wade, all 30 million illegals in the country should be allowed to register with a private business, and then be allowed to live and work legally in the United States. This goes far beyond President Obama’s edict.
See the video below posted on Wade’s own Youtube Channel (scroll to 52 seconds to hear for yourself):
“We’ve got 10 or 20 or 30 million illegals in this country. We don’t know the true number. Many of them are good people, we know that, but we need a humane solution. That solution in my opinion needs to be 6 or 8 centers in the center of America, not down on the border, run by the private sector, not government, to identify every illegal in this country and do it quickly and urgently. Give it a one year goal that everyone must come and register in this country and be identified. Then start the process of either making them legal workers paying legally into our system with absolutely no amnesty, period, ever, we can’t do that again. But get them identified and then get them working into our system legally and paying into our system.”
Wade says that this isn’t amnesty – but if this isn’t amnesty, then what is? Wade’s alleged solution is also an unconstitutional end-run around Congress.
And why does Douglas Wade think that he can change his support for amnesty – which is far more radical than even President Obama’s – when he posted the contradictory remarks himself on his own Youtube channel?
If Douglas Wade is this confused, he’s not ready for primetime.
