SPOILER DEAKIN STAYS IN RACE

In a bizarre speech in front of Legislative District 6 last night, delusional Republican Senate candidate Jim Deakin tried to explain his outlandish claim that he currently is polling at 20%. Disrespectfully cutting off an audience member who tried to question him, Deakin growled, “You don’t get to respond!” Utilizing math skills that would make an Enron accountant envious, Deakin demonstrated his much-touted command of business by explaining that he reached this number by adding the 7% who said they are voting for him in the most recent Rasmussen poll, plus 14% from “undecided” and “other candidates” in other polls. Huh?

Next, he said he is running for office in order to “raise awareness.” What about actually FIXING problems and coming up with SOLUTIONS? Sounds like he wants to “raise awareness” of himself. This self-promoter forgot to mention any tangible actions he would take on behalf of the public.  Boosting your own image is not a legitimate reason to run for office. As long as he stays in the race raising his name recognition, only able to capture a small percentage of votes, he is accomplishing nothing for the rest of us, and is instead taking votes away from JD Hayworth.  JD Hayworth says it best in the clip, “A vote for Deakin is a vote for John McCain.” This guy is reminiscent of another candidate who was a relentless self-promoter interested in change.

When I saw the video all I could think of was John McCain telling people to shut up and sit down. But yes Barack obama in more recent times would be a more fitting description.

Jimmy Lee’s name will go down in political history as the ultimate spoiler. He thinks he has enough support to win a future election, but what he does not understand is he going to have every one of his supporters move to his district to vote for him, I think not. And I bet we can always get a more popular candidate to run against him.

  2. Not so fast Suzanne,
Jim is a true American in my book, he offers his life to be a public servant, he is an accomplished business man and he does not need a job.
That makes him akin to Senator McCain who does not “NEED” a job either.
That is what impresses me as far as his personality is concerned.
Your side, the spoiler-accusation-gang says: “Jim should get out of the race and in addition he should encourage his supporters to vote for our candidate because he needs his votes to get anywhere.
That my dear shows clearly how insecure you are about your chosen candidate who is having a snowball chance in hell to win.
Mr. Deakin and I may have differences of opinions, but never, ever would I suggest for him to surrender to loser-initiated pressure.

  3. johny d. goodes says

Jim is getting behind the scenes support and encouragement from some McCain folk. The goal is for him to siphon votes away from Hayworth.

  4. JD v McCain has turned into one of the biggest Grass Roots versus Washington Establishment campaigns this year. Who would have thought Obama would defeat the powerful Clinton machine? JD is taking on the powerful McCain and has a real chance of defeating McCain. If Deakin’s goal is keeping McCain out of DC, him staying in this race can only help keep McCain in DC. This race is far from over; in fact it is just beginning. If Deakin remains in the race, I remain confident that JD will garner enough support to become the next senator from AZ.

  5. The endorsement for Horst should be enough to prove McCain is backing Deakin.

As far a McCain not needing a job, that’s just plain false. He might not need the money because of his rich wife, but his ego and sense of entitlement needs this job.

  6. Who does JD get along with?

He can’t keep an ally. He can’t keep a seat. He can’t keep a talk show.

Think about it. We want to keep this Senate seat.

Don’t give it to JD. He can’t be trusted to keep it.

  7. Michael Holliday says

As time marches forward it becomes more and more obvious that this is a race between JD and McCain.

But more than that, it’s a race between the people of Arizona for national sovereignty and the peoples of Mexico, Central and South America for amnesty.

On the one hand you have JD who will do “whatever it takes” to stop amnesty. He will also continue his heroic 100% pro-life record.

On the other hand, you have wiffle-waffle McCain who never met a left-wing politician he couldn’t sit down and reach an agreement with, over the will of the people. For instance sitting down with Ted Kennedy to hammer out amnesty for illegals legislation. And, having a less than stellar anti-abortion record.

The choice is clear and JD is that choice!

Jim Deakin put on a good campaign, but at some point he’s going to have to realize he should do the right thing and endorse JD Hayworth.

That is the truest test of character for Jim going forward as a politician.

If Jim does this, it will be seen as a true unselfish act and desire to do what is best for Arizona: toss out McCain now!

It will also be the ultimate act of defiance against the “establishment” he purports to stand in stark contrast against.

If he doesn’t, and we get McCain and amnesty, all of Jim’s promises of personal dedication and future sacrifice will pale before the chance he had to oust McCain and prevent disaster. Jim’s first campaign will be his last.

Talk is cheap Jim Deakin! You’re never going to get everything now! Instant gratification is only tolerable for crying babies!

However, it’s the people that need to realize this and vote for JD. Which I believe they will do.

You see, the basic survival instinct of the American psyche will kick in and they’ll realize they should go with the man most likely to succeed and most likely to protect us from the dangers of liberalism, now!

    That man is JD Hayworth.

Any other vote is a pipe dream and not well thought out.

As for “20%” of the vote for Deakin, sounds like more fantasy and wishful thinking. If Arizonans want a vote to self-destruct, vote Deakin–you’ll get McCain!

  8. Jacobite says

    Travis:

We as Republicans, want to capture McCain’s seat, you as a RINO want to ensure that the seat will further a liberal “big tent” agenda!

Sorry, but an incumbent who seeks out Kennedys, Finegolds and Liebermans to advance programs and who has twice flirted with changing his own registration is no longer needed to speak for Arizona!

Let him take the “honorable” Spector road which he has previously mulled and with a little bit of luck, take you. “Ann” “Molly/Lisa” Horst, LD17 & GOPrano with him!

  9. Jabob its YOU & the HKP’s who will be leaving the ‘scene’ after Aug 24th. Almost feel sorry for you people, but don’t.

Already enjoying the ‘excuses’ you all are making as to why the ‘Huckster’ is going to lose.

And you blame Jim Deakin? Hilarious stuff.

    Keep it up HKP!

Have a Safe & Happy 4th of July holiday!

  10. JD will do “whatever it takes”….paying his wife from his PAC, receiving money and skyboxes from Abramoff, losing his seat in a safe Republican district, and the “consistent conservative” selling his soul by being in the infamous free money infomercial. Good job Foghorn Leghorn. It will be so funny when Deakin beats JD.

    Ha, ha!

Hardly! Hawking miscellaneous cash and hawking out the entire country to illegal aliens are two different creatures. Or, can’t you see that?

How can McCain fight for Arizona when he didn’t even fight to win the presidency but rolled over, and even supported Maobama?

JD’s one-time faux pas has no future impact on the crash course our country is currently on, and was, in-part, due to JD getting sheisted by some sheisters.

On the other hand, McCain knows full well he’s in bed with the minority vote in trying to secure amnesty through comprehensive immigration reform.

McCain acts against the will of the people, in the face of 70% American support for SB 1070 that tells illegals to “go home!”

If anyone’s sold their soul, it’s McCain. And he’s selling it, along with our future, pretty cheap!

If McCain wins, you better give your soul to God because your a** will belong to a socialist state, through comprehensive immigration reform amnesty, which will radically reshape America overnight into a third-world nightmare!

Any conservative candidate that plays fast and loose politics with abortion is on a different moral plane. That candidate is and was John McCain.

Actually, if anything, JD’s bought himself a new soul through his adherence to God, family and country and a 100% pro-life voting record.

Nice try Joe Schmoe. It’s time for McCain to go!

So marrying money qualifies someone to be a senator? That’s one of the more bizzare lines of reasoning. Just when I think I heard it all from the allegedly conservative McLame apologists.

  13. Walt Stephenson says

My concern is that there has been so much vile rhetoric that we can not heal after the primary. I do not support JD Hayworth but if he wins our primary I will campaign for him just as hard as I would for John McCain. I hope all you feel the same. President Reagan would and did no less.

  14. Michael Holliday says

    I just saw something CRAZY!

Wait a minute Jimmy Lee: I actually defended your right to spew gibberish (your phony poll stats) in a prior post, asking the JD people to respect your right to speak at these events and you said to the people, “YOU DON’T GET TO RESPOND!” when they questioned your fudged stats.

    Wha-?

    Ha, ha!

Nice! Just what we need, another dictator!

Jimmy, why don’t you tell us your position on abortion. I’m curious…

    Deakin, Deakin, he’s been sneakin’
around back corners and dark alleys
so McCain gets the Senate seat.

His tongue is glib, though he does fib
McCain is his man and that’s worth a repeat

The author of amenesty arrived too late
to shut the south border and its wide open gate

JD’s the man; he has the plan
not from today, or here and now
but for years and years, he took the vow

elect him to serve, and he with verve
will block illegals crossing with nerve

  16. Hatshipsuit says

Deakin knows he will not be elected but he has no desire to do the right thing, and that would be to bow out of the race.I heard him speak, mostly to bad-mouth his opponents, and offering no intelligent solution to our problems, but his views are at least closer to JD’s than McCain’s.
He will not do what is best for our country, his over-sized ego needs feeding at all cost. He is no better than the Dems.

  17. We have got to remove McCain. Deakin doesn’t pole 20%. He needs quit trying to play the spoiler role. Like I say we need to remove the RINO McCain & Deakin is just going to make it tougher.

  18. Deakin could drop out today and it wouldn’t make a difference. JD is way too far down to overcome his own campaign and history.

JD is unelectable, Deakin is not the problem. True to form, JD must have someone to blame for his failures because he is perfect. Didn’t you know?

The JD camp knows they will lose. But they must make the loss about Deakin and not JD or he is toast for any future races. After having lost his own seat and now this…he is toast anyway.

You: JD is unelectable, Deakin is not the problem. True to form, JD must have someone to blame for his failures because he is perfect. Didn’t you know?

Me: Not only is JD electable, he’ll be elected. McCain, like the other wishy-washy Repubs and Dems, is being put out of office to enjoy his retirement.
    _____

You: The JD camp knows they will lose. But they must make the loss about Deakin and not JD or he is toast for any future races. After having lost his own seat and now this…he is toast anyway.

Me: JD will solidify his position during the debates and the voters will realize this is the right time for Hayworth.

McCain is not only toast, he’s moldy toast with three-day-old Granny Butterball’s Arizona-style Buffalo Chip Cactus Jelly on it. In other words, he’s very unappetizing to an exhausted populace seeking reprieve from the illegal alien onslaught!

On the other hand, this is Deakin’s last stand: brief, uneventful, opportunistic and unprepared. The question is, does Deakin have an ounce of authentic statesmanship in his body?

Be prepared for a JD Hayworth victory in a few months!

As far as McCain. I simply won’t vote for him.

  20. Claire Skye says

Mr. Deakin is in this race for his own ego. If he really cared about defeating Senator McCain he would drop out and endorse JD. But Mr. Deakin holds his own personal gains over true Conservative principles!

  22. McCain is a senile old man that should have been put out to pasture years ago. He can’t remember who he is much less where he lives or who he took money from.

Alright, alright! Charlotte’s casting a very large spider web, so let’s tackle her McCain-esque wiffle-waffler assertions one at a time:

Charlotte: I have yet to hear JD’ ‘raise awareness’ or offer any solutions to, ‘fix the problems.’

Me: JD was on TV with Sheriff Joe yesterday taking on a socialist La Raza supporter over the issue of illegal immigration. JD’s solution was stark: implement an SB 1070 type Bill nationally! How’s that for a solution! We’ve got illegal aliens hauling a** out of Arizona faster than you can say yeehaaw! How’s that for a “surge?”

Charlotte: I also find the comment – “On the other hand, you have wiffle-waffle McCain who never met a left-wing politician he couldn’t sit down and reach an agreement with, over the will of the people.” You are so ignorant to think that the will of the people is only your vision.

Me: Umm…Charlotte! Earth to Charlotte! Hello! Anyone home? You’ve got friggen’ 70% of the American people that want illegal aliens out–now! We’re in a Great Recession. Jobs are precious. Oh, McCain wouldn’t know that, he’s fabulously wealthy, so he can afford to play fast and loose with our future means of subsistence.

Charlotte: Perhaps if you open your eyes you will find that not EVERY democrat and dem policy is horrific?! I am a very conservative Republican but running this Country is more then black and white and McCain knows that.

Me: Charlotte, you’re the perfect compromising McCain supporter. Each year the Democratic party resembles more and more the socialist party. I invite you, as a “conservative” to vote for more of the same gibberish that’s sinking Arizona, California, Nevada and Texas: illegal immigration overload. Like I said, a vote for McCain is a vote for McCain. Need I say more?

Charlotte: JD will not win this election, JD has so much corruption, so many failures that simply cannot be overlooked. We do not need to let ourselves (the GOP) become vulnerable by allowing JD back into our vision, JD is just to egocentric and unintelligent to return.

Me: Name one case of corruption. There aren’t any. NONE. JD Hayworth hawking information on how to get grants is not corruption. I can show you private, flim-flam universities that charge $1,000 a credit for three credit classes for a suspect college degree that’ll cost you $80K+ and is of little worth.

As far as failures, “the man who never falls never stands up.” Any normal human being has successes and failures. I rather see JD’s campaign as a case of “you can’t keep a good man down.”

I picture the Arizona voter remembering how McCain’s Charlotte-type willingness to roll over to the socialist gradualism of compromise with the Democrats led to a vote for Obamao. Thanks, McCain, for not fighting for the presidency. Thanks for Maobama!

  24. Jack Hammer says

    Mike:

Don’t get your trousers in a lump over twits like Charlotte!

She’s living proof of “The Stupid Party” depicted by the late Sam Francis.

On one hand they advertise themselves as “solid conservatives” then as soon as possible line up to “reach out” and “create a Big Tent” to the specifications of the intellectual Left!

These jerks will dance a minuet to a firing squad as long as they can keep their “social standing” while doing so!

Hopefully, they’ll be erased from party leadership here as in other states.

Otherwise we’ll be a poor man’s California within a decade!

  25. Only true conservatives would recognize that we have no real choice in this election. McCain and JD are both awful and Deakin has a few loose screws. So once again we are forced to pick the lesser of two evils. Whoever that is is up to everyone to decide but this site is full of wishful thinkers

Who wants to bet some money that Deakin and Hayworth combined do not get over 45% of the vote?

That’s right! You’re too angry and scowling and I want to rub your feet until you giggle and purr. You see, you are a big grumpy kitty. And I want to hear how your purr sounds, since it’s how felines communicate.

I suppose, you’ve probably been treated roughly by some Republicans in the past, that’s why you’re growling and hissing at me.

Well, Miss Charlotte, you’ve fluffed out the feathers of the wrong bird this time! When I’m done tickling you and rubbing your feet, you’ll purr like a new Cadillac sporting a Rolls Royce engine.

Then, when I’m done feeding you peaches and cream with some strawberry shortcake and a McDonald’s Mocha Frappe, you’ll be clamoring to vote for JD!

    Walt says,
That’s a terrible solution. It adds additional constraints on the Border Patrol and raise’s the threshold for detention and arrest. Currently the Border Patrol doesn’t need reasonable suspicion to question someone’s immigration status. They don’t have to first stop a suspect investigate and detain him or her for a criminal violation before developing reasonable suspicion to request their immigration status.

To implement a SB1070 type law on the Fed’s would make their life more difficult. What I don’t quite understand is why law enforcement doesn’t explain how this law actually raises the threshold for state law enforcement to enforce immigration laws. Peoples rights are more protected know than before or they will be after July.

The way to stop illegal immigration is simple but it seems no one has the political will. Secure the borders, prosecute those employers that knowingly hire illegal aliens and fully fund E-Verify.

  28. Walt:

The last sentence in your above post hits the nail on the head.

The problem with your suggestion with the GOP leadership and monetary funders lies in the fact that in Arizona, these are the folks who would be hit by its enforcement.

Until this state acquires leadership which can think and act on a long term basis and lose its “bed and breakfast” business mentality and cheap, unskilled labor addiction, we’ll be headed for the California abyss!

Me: Walt, JD didn’t get into specifics. What I think he was getting at was that States need to empower local law enforcement with the tools to aid in ridding themselves of illegals. I don’t think he was mentioning anything pertaining to federal law enforcement changes. Yes, those laws are more encompassing and less encumbering.

    Use common sense, man!

  30. I WAS thinking about NOT casting a vote for Senator if McCain wins the primary, but now I think I’ll just vote for the Dem. No difference in my mind between McCain and a Democrat.

This certainly proves that Deakin is a McCain plant in my book! For a McCain sycophant, who must love the power McCain wields, in a very abusive manner, threatening ANYONE who does not kow-tow to his bullying (like JD Hayworth); to support Deakin shows to me two clear ideas. 1. McCain does NOT fear Deakin because he IS SO unqualified 2. John feared JD so much that he ‘recruited’ a “rightwing nutjob” to attack JD from what many would call “the lunatic fringe”.

McCain has been going after JD Hayworth with all the ferocity of a mother bear protecting her cubs. Maybe HE thinks it’s HIS seat like Teddy boy thought about his Massachusetts seat, before Scott Brown proved otherwise.

BUT this started a decade ago. First example: controlling the redistricting commission so that JD’s district suddenly included ASU campus, not a hotbed of conservatism. Second, getting Dept of Justice to investigate JD’s connection with Abramoff AFTER the 2006, costing him $500K in legal fees with nothing to show except JD’s Debt. Third, forcing KFYI to shut JD up with a despicable FEC complaint that was unanimously rejected by ALL 6 members of the bi-partisan commission.

Finally, running all the vicious, lying deceptive ads that are so over-the-top, that even his friendly TV stations have to question them to maintain SOME semblance of credibility. McCain’s henchmen will even photograph JD’s supporters! Perhaps to target them for attacks!? That will be the McCain legacy, petty, vindictive and couldn’t care less about Arizona!

Got fired and wrote a book on what you didn’t do (that didn’t sell well at all).

The Grassroots movement in America wants less government. Look at this bill and its progressive increases in federal employees in multiple areas stepped over five years – wouldn’t you think at year two or three there would be no need to add more judges and lawyers and etc., this is Tea Party material?

Nice stats you’re referencing for JD’s record on immigration. But not so fast!

How is that a Democrat, Ann Kirkpatrick, can get an A- rating while JD gets a C+ rating, and Ann didn’t do anything on a majority of the issues?

    Reduce Illegal Jobs & Presence
    JD Hayworth: B
    Ann Kirkpatrick: A-
Jim Deakin: No Grade/All Talk No Experience

    Reduce Illegal Immigration at Borders:
    JD Hayworth: B+
    Ann Kirkpatrick: No Grade
Jim Deakin: No Grade/All Talk No Experience

    Reduce Amnesty Enticements
    JD Hayworth: B
    Ann Kirkpatrick: Failed to Act
Jim Deakin: No Grade/All Talk No Experience

    Reduce Illegal Immigration Rewards
    JD Hayworth: A+
    Ann Kirkpatrick: No Grade
Jim Deakin: No Grade/All Talk No Experience

    Reduce Anchor Baby Citizenship
    JD Hayworth: A+
    Ann Kirkpatrick: Failed to Act
Jim Deakin: No Grade/All Talk No Experience

As a matter of fact, the only area that Ann Kirkparick, Democrat, acted was the category
    “Reduce Illegal Jobs & Presence.”

SHE ONLY ACTED IN ONE AREA AND GOT A HIGHER SCORE THAN JD!

This shows you how ridiculous these kinds of statistics can be.

I suppose if JD failed to Act or wasn’t assigned a grade, like Jim Deakin, he’d come out like the liberal Ann Kirkpatrick with an A- rating!

Sure, there were areas that JD could have scored higher on but during the Dotcom boom, the economy was different and better and having some mission critical foreign nurses on work permits wasn’t the same as endorsing illegal immigration or amnesty through comprehensive immigration reform.

Look at the context of the situation in the late 1990’s because the situation has changed from then, dramatically, since JD’s been in office with the advent of 911 terrorism and the Great Recession.

JD’s position going forward is clear as a bell. You can read it in his book “Whatever it Takes…”
