Send JD to Washington – Defeat the tyrants

COMMON SENSE

“In the following sheets, the author hath studiously avoided every thing which is personal among ourselves. Compliments as well as censure to individuals make no part thereof. The wise and the worthy need not the triumph of a pamphlet; and those whose sentiments are injudicious or unfriendly, will cease of themselves, unless too much pains is bestowed upon their conversion.”

Send JD to Washington – Defeat the tyrants

In 1776, just two days before Christmas, Thomas Paine wrote: “These are the times that try men’s souls…Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered.”

The Continental Army was in tatters, and the British were confident of victory. During the night of December 25th, 1776, General George Washington led his ragged army across the Delaware and marched them south to Trenton, NJ, leaving a trail of blood seeping from the burlap-bound feet of shoeless soldiers determined to defend the new nation. Cold to the bone, and weary from the march, they attacked and defeated Hessian troops loyal to the oppressive British Crown. Their victory marked a turning point in the fight to bring us liberty.

Tyranny has returned to our shores, and we are once again confronted by an implacable enemy. Thomas Paine was right. Like hell, tyranny is not easily conquered. It takes tireless, courageous people to overcome tyrants. JD Hayworth is one of those people.

We do not ask you to cross icy rivers nor march shoeless into battle. We ask only that you help fund the battle against those who would bind us in virtual chains as real as any of hardened steel.

It is just a small thing to write a check, but together our efforts can make the difference between liberty and slavery. To honor those who gave us freedom, and to preserve it for ourselves, our children and grandchildren, please give generously to the cause of liberty.

All contributions are greatly appreciated, but are limited by law to no more than $2,400. Please make your check payable to JD 2010. It is the least we can do.

Comments

  1. McCain got served! Now it’s on!

  2. I support JD and all but this was a little ridiculous…

  3. PHX Conservative says

LOL! LOL! Comparing JD to George Washington?! C’mon……. Give me a break.

  4. RepublicanSOS says

It wasn’t a comparison of JD and George Washington, it’s about sending JD TO Washington. It’s a call to inspire a sense of duty. We must step up. My check’s in the mail.

  5. Cry havoc! and let slip the dogs of war, that this foul deed shall smell above the earth with carrion men, groaning for burial.

  6. So, what you’re saying is JD is both a messiah and a celebrity? This haigography is really a bit much.

Can’t wait until McCain runs the “JD in a Tank” ad.

  7. I like it. It is a call to action to protect the great State and the Country. McCain is the tyrant trying to destroy anyone who disagrees with him. It’s time to move the old warhorse out to pasture. Maybe he can help Cindy with her NO H8 campaign.

  8. Been on vacation, looks like I missed a lot.
I think what is being said is JD represents the common people. McCain represents mostly himself, oppression and the political elite. The anger directed at McCain is not unfounded and is widespread. You can argue that it’s unwarranted, but it is real.
Johnny changes positions every election. We expect it. Now we are fed up with it.

With Obama in the white house and McCain looking for another high profile democrat to align with, we can expect to see more McAmnesty bills. It took the whole country to stop them last time and we had a Republican president. Will we be able to stop McCain/Obama reform?

This will be a David v. Goliath race. We know what happened the first time.

  9. Blue Meanie says

His website is UP! Looks like just a place holder right now but the contribute button works. I just used it. It wasn’t a lot but it is what I can afford right now. I’ll keep sending a little at a time as I can. McCain must go!

  10. So when JD was sent to Washington before what were his great accomplishments? Seems like he did little but get real cozy with some questionable lobbyists.

  11. In all the years McCain was in Washington, what did he do except inspire a nation wide revolt against his amnesty bill. Oh that’s right he did get the attention of the supreme court with his trophy bill McCain/Feingold. Why is it that everything he is known for, other than his attacks on the republican base, has a democrat attached to it?

Bilbo brings up a good point. Can we stop another amnesty bill with Obama as pres?

  12. nightcrawler says

That was then and this is now. The author of this Common Sense is a student of history. If he is who I think he is, he has made his mark on the Arizona political landscape in the last decade, no question. While I don’t agree with his positions all the time, he is true to his core values and is at the very least predictable.

JD, albeit a kindred spirit, is a different animal altogether. A top drawer orator on matters of public interest, a commentator, a pundit, a poor man’s historian, a populist. This call to action is not aimed at the intellectual, but rather the reactionary. Even so a vote is a vote.

  13. Did anyone hear Mark Levin call McCain out? He is supporting J.D. and will help bring in national attention and money. Go J.D.

  14. Dee Ann:

Yeah, and I heard Glenn Beck take a couple of whacks at McCain the last couple of days.

He’s gonna get called out and on quite a bit of baggage accumulated over the past quarter century!

And btw Todd, I can remember McCain’s cozying up to Charlie Keating. And unlike DeConcini he refused to return the money!

I could go into his “spoiled brat” attempt to change parties after his 2000 Presidential bid blew up and his spiteful creation of McCain-Feingold to punish his intra-party opposition.

I could also bring up his attempt to climb on Kerry’s ticket in 2004 and his desire to bring Joe Lieberman on board for his run last year….but we’ll save that for later!

If there is anyone who merits a political euthanasia more than the PPOW, I havent’t found him or her!

  15. Sorry to Jim Deakin and Chris Simcox but did anyone really think that either one of them had a chance?

Now with JD in the race, the electorate is alive, excited, fired up! The last time we saw that happen (across the country) was when McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate.

This time JD has got the base fired up and Palin is feeling pressure to walk away from McCain (read her Facebook page lately?)

Unlike any other Republican Primary across the country, there is no bigger contrast than the one between JD Hayworth and John McCain.

This is going to be a great race that defines the Republican party at the National level.

  16. Check out michellemalkin.com She has another good article about McCain. She called him a Geraldo Republican. It was an old article that she updated.

  17. “And btw Todd, I can remember McCain’s cozying up to Charlie Keating. And unlike DeConcini he refused to return the money!”

I completely agree – neither one should be senator. It still doesn’t change the fact that the absurd post above seems to ignore that he already went to Washington and had less than stellar results.

  18. We need a real Conservative in there. Go JD

  19. YOu need to give my bird 1 privlidge. you dipidydoodle!
