Senators Johnson, Bee and Pro-Life/Marriage Legislation

While attending a Republican district meeting this evening, a State Representative noted that several important pieces of cultural legislation were being held in the State Senate by Senate leadership. These bills include critical Sanctity of Marriage and Pro-life Protection legislation.

Time is running out as the Senate requires 16 votes to pass this pro-family / pro-life legislation. WIth the loss of Senator Jake Flake, a new Senator will likely be appointed within days. Senator Karen Johnson will be leaving for a vacation which has been planned months in advance. This leaves the Senate with very little time to pass these bills.

This makes Senator Tim Bee the lynchpin to move this legislation and as we all know, Senator Bee is in a critical race for Congress in Southern Arizona’s CD-8.

It appears he is holding it up for political reasons, anyone guess why?

By the way, how is constitutionally enshrining marriage benefits, provided by govt, to only men and women…pro-family? How is that limited govt?

    How is that even just?

  2. Why kind of bizarre pleasure does Kral get out of asking dumb questions? Because he never seems to run out of them…

  3. He just chimes in whenever there’s something about Bee. Kral is part of Gabby’s blogging brigade.

Which question was dumb? I hope you mean the first one…because the second, to me, has no defense.

Conservatism, as I remembered it, was about getting govt. out of the lives of people and not enshrining peoples religious beliefs as restrictions on the freedom of law abiding citizens.

This issue is probably the biggest reason you lost me from your party.

Some losses in life are meaningful changes for the better.

Yep…and if you keep up those losses you won’t ever win elections.

  7. You especially won’t win back CD’s 1, 5, or 8 with those stances…
