Former Arizona Representative Sam Crump Formally Endorses

Conservative Candidate J.D. Hayworth

Sam CrumpPHOENIX, ARIZONA. MARCH 5, 2010. Former Arizona State Representative and current congressional candidate Sam Crump has formally announced his endorsement for U.S. Senate candidate J.D. Hayworth. Crump is currently campaigning for Congressman John Shadegg’s seat in CD-3 which is also Senator John McCain’s backyard.

Rep. John Shadegg announced in January that he would not seek reelection.

It is yet another example of Arizona Republicans abandoning the 24-year incumbent in favor of his conservative challenger.

Hayworth has been endorsed by Maricopa County Sheriff Arpaio, the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, Tax Day Tea Party, top Arizona Conservative Len Munsil, the Gun Owners of America, and the National Border Patrol Council, among many others.

Vulnerable to the more conservative Hayworth on taxes, the Second Amendment, pro-life and pro-family issues and illegal immigration, McCain has engaged in transparent election year flip-flopping.

McCain also voted for the $850 billion bailout of the big banks which included $150 billion in pork, proposed a $300 billion bailout for mortgage lenders and, according to the Heritage Foundation, sponsored an amnesty bill that would have cost taxpayers $2.6 trillion over the long-term. And despite 28 years in Washington McCain now claims he was ‘misled’ on the bank bailout vote despite expressing no such concerns at the time.

Most recently the incumbent introduced big government legislation with Democrat Senator Byron Dorgan that would strip away consumer choice and crush small businesses selling vitamins and health supplements in a giveaway to big drug companies.

Comments

  1. Sam Crump is being outpolled by Dan Quayle’s son….LOL!

  2. Um… Does anyone out there actually care about crump or his endorsement?

  3. No body does care about Sam Crump – and in John McCain’s corner? Pretty much everybody else who counts, as far as having political capital to spread around.

  4. Yeah!

They’re all looking for handouts from “The John” and the CofC!

The race has just begun gentlemen!

I have to agree with AMT, frank and VSB. JD must be taking WHATEVER he can get. What’s next fictional characters? Seriously, JD do you even realize how big of a JOKE you are?

  6. Stephen Kohut says

The only joke is McRINO thinking AZ will buy his once every 6 years conservative koolaid again. No sale!

  7. Well intead of 2% I guess Sammy will now drop to ZERO! (borrowed that from a friend of mine)! This is way too funny!

  8. Wow- JD pulled out another endorsement… finally! If you compare the two endorsement lists it speaks volumes. Reps. Jeff Flake, John Shadegg and Trent Franks — all of whom served in the House alongside former Rep. J.D. — are on board with McCain. Says something!

  9. “JD must be taking WHATEVER he can get. What’s next fictional characters?”

    Foghorn Leghorn endorses JD!

  10. Stephen Kohut says

I wonder when McRINO will run out of money to buy more endorsements, as if those matter to voters.

  11. Iris Lynch says

I agree that endorsements are of no matter to the voters unless it happens to be a next door neighbor they admire. The average voter does not pay attention to all the intricate details as do the folks commenting on this blog. In fact, the tea partiers are such a phenomenon that the liberal left is beside itself trying to read the tea leaves. Endorsements? Half of the voters have no idea who these ‘endorsers’ are!

  12. “Endorsements? Half of the voters have no idea who these ‘endorsers’ are!”

Half the voters have no idea who Sarah Palin is? LOL!

  13. And given the current congressional delegation’s role in creating a welfare/warfare state which is heading for a Weimar financial abyss, who the hell would want their endorsements?

  14. Not only do I take Quayle over Crump, but Crump is about as much of a joke as JD. If JD cannot come up with one morally sound endorsement, he will continue to make a joke of himself. And as for endorsements, we the voters know and care. If we do not know who they are, we google them, read and learn. This is the only way to make sure we do not elect someone that is not qualified for a position; ie-Obama…and JD is certainly not qualified to run against McCain.

  15. Stephen Kohut says

The only endorsements that count occur on 8/24 and 11/2 this year. All else is hot air.
