Schweikert Endorsed by NRA for Support of 2nd Amendment Rights

Scottsdale, AZ – District Five congressional candidate David Schweikert has received the endorsement of the National Rifle Association and an “A” rating for his solid support of Second Amendment rights.

“I’m honored to be recognized for my commitment to the principles our Founders established when the Constitution was written,” Schweikert said.  “The U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision in the Heller case ratified the Founders’ intent that all Americans have the right to bear arms as established by the Second Amendment.  I’m proud to be associated with any group such as the NRA that is devoted to protecting each of our basic Constitutional freedoms and I’m grateful for this endorsement.”

By contrast, the organization has given the incumbent, Harry Mitchell, a “D+” rating, which is given to elected officials who “can definitely not be counted on” to protect the freedoms associated with the Second Amendment.

  3. I think they have been helpful to David. I received a letter from the NRA in which there was a “Vote Freedom First” “Vote For Schweikert” bumper sticker enclosed. I can only assume the mailing went to all NRA members in the district.
