Nepotism in Pinal County

The East Valley Tribune’s  Jason Massad wrote a good article in today’s edition of the Trib explaining the nepotism issues going on in Pinal County.

The most stunning revelation of how bad the problem is was presented in the paragraph:

It’s no secret that the county is tightknit. Dolores Doolittle, the treasurer, is the wife of Terry Doolittle, the county manager. Shelly Minter, the sister of the sheriff’s public relations officer, Michael Minter, works in the records office of Sheriff Chris Vasquez, Pyritz said.

And we thought it was bad when the former County Manager, Stanley Griffis, was running the show.

This begs the question, “Is it really that difficult to find qualified people to work for county government in Pinal County?”
