McCain: Shape Shifter, No Statesman

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, July 6, 2010

Phoenix, AZ (JULY 6) – In what must be the most bizarre, incredible, unbelievable, disingenuous political flip-flop of all time, Sen. John McCain is now trying to convince Arizona voters he does not support amnesty.

“No amnesty. Many of them (illegal aliens) need to be sent back,” McCain said during an interview with KOTH-FM in Tucson, when describing how he would deal with illegal residents.

He went on: “If we get the border secured, then a temporary legal worker program has to be part of it.”

“Voters are not as naïve as McCain thinks,” said Mark Sanders, spokesman for U.S. Senate Candidate J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ). “Everyone knows that McCain has been a champion for amnesty for the 12 million illegal aliens in this country. Everyone knows he sponsored the McCain-Kennedy legislation to impose amnesty, and everyone knows he and President Obama are going to push amnesty through after the election, if McCain is there.

“This latest shape-shifting move by McCain strips him of any hope of being regarded as a statesman,” Sanders said. “Leaders lead, followers follow, McCain just engages in the most cynical flip-flopping seen in decades.”

In 2003, McCain made clear his support of amnesty:

“Amnesty has to be an important part because there are people who have lived in this country for 20, 30, 40 years, who have raised children here and pay taxes here and are not citizens. That has to be a component of it,” McCain told the Tucson Citizen. “How can we have a temporary worker program if we’re not allowing people who have been here for 30 years to hold their jobs here?”

Contrary to current wisdom and spin, McCain has got some “Splainin” To Do.

A vote for John McCain is a vote for amnesty.

Nice to see that John’s true flim-flam nature, once again, shows itself in the face of political pressure.

We need a guy that’s been ahead of the curve on the illegal alien issue, we need Hayworth.

    Time for McCain to go…

  3. The greatest evidence of shape-shifting in that post is that ridiculously posed and airbrushed picture of JD! But, then again…it does exemplify the reality that is JD. All for the cameras.

Funny thing is, John McCain’s campaigning harder against a fellow republican, JD Hayworth, than he ever did against Maobama!

Isn’t that curious, that John McCain is campaigning so hard for illegal aliens over US citizens?

I mean, 70% of US citizens want illegal aliens out of the US–no amnesty, no Comprehensive Immigration Reform, no Guest Worker Program, nothing, out!

Yet, McCain can summon the wherewithal to advocate for amnesty at the same time he’s attacking JD Hayworth relentlessly, whereas he DEFENDED Obamao as a good family man when running against him for the presidency.

Yes, John McCain is one confused guy!

Interesting how everyone can, and does, scramble for the illegal alien over bona fide the US citizen! That is, until it’s time to scramble for the vote. Then, they test the air and “tell ’em what they want to hear!” in order to get the vote.

See how the left-wing president John McCain gave–us because McCain refused to fight against him–i.e. Maobama, scrambles to sue Arizona, ASAP, but doesn’t act so decisively to secure the border from narco-terrorists!

Question: Ask yourself “who’s friggen’ side is Obamao and McCain really on anyway?”

Clue: Watch what they do, not what they say!

Answer: Not on your side if you’re a law abiding legal citizen!

    It’s time for JD Hayworth!

Don’t believe me? Ask Sheriff Joe Arpaio who he’s voting for!

Our GOP Senators, including McAmnesty and Minority Wimp Kyl, are more interested in having another election issue, illegal immigration, to add to healthcare than they are in using their 41 votes in the Senate to deal with this issue or any of the other issues critical to the GOP’s conservative base.

With 41 votes the GOP could bring virtually all action in the Senate to a dead stop. By using the Senate rules on filibusters, objections to calls for unanymous consent, hard quorum calls, etc. they have the ability to shut Congress down until and unless our border is secured. Will they? Not hardly. The first thing that is removed from a Senator when they are elected is their spine. Instead we get press releases, never to be implemented 10 point plans and political posturing. If AZ’s two Senators think their ineffectiveness goes unnoticed by the party’s base and the +70% of Arizonans that support SB1070 they are living in a vacuum.

Stephen, that is the truth. The next time they go across the aisle, I’d appreciated it they bring someone back.

Ditto to what Jane 001 says! Good words Stephen. I recently spoke to a conservative congressman here in the SW part of our country. He said that while there are 100-120 conservatives in the House, there aren’t more than 10 in the Senate if THAT many!

That’s why replacing the Progressive RINO is Imperative! It would send shockwaves throughout the elitist country club Republican enclaves in our country!

    Samuel Adams,

The GOP Senators are a gutless pack of progressive RINO’s that will take us at least 6 years to pry out of office but there is hope. It it started with giving Utah’s Bob Bennett the boot. In prior posts Jeff Vath, AKA TonyGOPrano, was bragging how his boy, Bridgewater, McRINO’s 2008 Utah Chairman was going to kill the Tea Party favorite, Lee, in the Utah primary once Bennett was tossed. Old Jeffy was dead wrong there as were all those who thought Sharron Angle would lose the Nevada Primary to Sue Lowden, the ex-GOP state chair that was tossed out on her butt by the now Tea Party convervative packed Nevada GOP. Rand Paul won by a landslide in Kentucky’s primary. So, buck up! There is progress and a lot of work still to do.
