Matricula Consular card a failure, but will Napolitano apologize?

You may recall that Janet Napolitano vetoed a bill that would have prohibited government from accepting the matricula consular. Now it turns out that everyone including the police agree this card is garbage.

A recent legal review revealed a Mexican identification card issued to more than 231,000 people in the Valley fails to meet Arizona traffic law, leaving some illegal immigrant motorists subject to arrest during routine stops.

Tucson police Sgt. Fabian Pacheco said officers have the discretion to make an arrest if they feel they cannot identify a subject based on the matricula card alone.

“It serves very little purpose,” Pacheco said. “I can see the Mexican government’s and Mexican Consulate’s attempt to provide something for their citizens . . . but you have to be careful not to interpret it as a legal document.”

When will Napolitano apologize? This is who was best qualified to be Chief of Homeland Security?

Note that the article is talking about cops not taking the metricula card as a driver’s license (why would they anyway?), while the vetoed bill you mentioned would have prohibited all levels of govt in the state from recognizing it.

    Apples and orrnges.

  2. I wouldn’t hold my breath for an apology. She is such a train wreck it is only a matter of time before she says something so stupid she will be forced to step down. Then maybe she can find a nice woman to settle down with and enjoy retirement.

Yes, David, and she is not the only one who has gotten by on sexuality alone, but I think she is already ‘spoken for’.

As for the matricula card, anyone with any sense always knew the card was worthless and could even be purchased by obviously non-hispanic people and non-mexican-speaking sorts for the right price.

This is just one of many ways that the citizens have been duped by their own government, which at one time was us, but is now our ‘lords and masters’. Who would have thought hem-kissing would make a come-back?
