Graf returns from successful D.C. trip.

IMG_5763.JPG      The Republican nominee for CD 8, Randy Graf, arrived at the Tucson airport a little after 4:00 pm on Saturday. He was greeted by a large contingent of enthusiastic supporters.

His visit to D.C. went very well and the powers-that-be in the party would like to keep the seat in the Republican column.

Randy met with and received support from Speaker Dennis Hastert (IL-14), Majority Whip Roy Blunt (MO-7), Chief Deputy Majority Whip Eric Cantor (VA-7), Deputy Majority Whip Tom Feeney (FL-24), Chairman of the RSC Mike Pence (IN-6), and Republican Policy Committee member Phil English (PA-3.) Not bad for a quick trip to the capital.

Graf also met with and got the backing of NRCC Chairman Tom Reynolds (NY-26) and all of the Arizona Republican House delegation except one.

Randy stepped off the place with checks in hand. I hope that Gabby was not counting on the Republicans abandoning CD 8 as part of her strategy.

Here is an article by Daniel Scarpinato of the Arizona Daily Star covering the event.

  1. Sorry I couldn’t make it. I was there in spirit.

  2. Randall Holdridge says

The Star reports that Graf returned from his money hunt to D.C. with $20K, and the “promise” of another $100K at some future date. This after he met with the Speaker and other GOP bigwigs.

Spin this any way you like, this was not a successful fund-raising mission, and doesn’t meet sniff test criteria for real party support.

  3. Oro Valley Dad says

I think Randy pretty well demonstrated that the candidate with the most money does not always win. The point is the party is on board. Of course the campaign needs to get out there and raise funds on its own, which Graf has shown that he can do.

In the last few days of the primary the Minuteman PAC ran some devastating ads against Huffman. (I loved TV Ad1.) I would not be surprised if the same thing happened again in the general.

I understand Gabby has received a lot of money from Emily’s List. I wonder if CD 8 is ready for a congresswoman who is beholden to the abortion industry.

This will be a tough race down to the end but Graf is not going to be left out to dry by the party or the issue groups that agree with him.

  4. All people deserve wealthy life time and business loans or collateral loan can make it better. Just because freedom is based on money state.
