Dolores Huerta endorses Rodney Glassman

This just in to Sonoran Alliance from camp Glassman:

Dear Friend,

As Arizona’s new immigration law goes into effect and early voting begins, I am reminded of why Arizona needs Rodney Glassman as its next U.S Senator. While I have been a staunch opponent of Arizona’s new law, there is one thing that the Governor of Arizona, the State legislature, and I all agree on: John McCain has failed the people of Arizona and our nation when it comes to passing Federal immigration reform. Rodney Glassman is the new kind of leader Arizona needs to go back to Washington, D.C. and work on behalf of all Arizonans to get things done.

Rodney is not a candidate just for Latinos, the environment, women, working families or the business community. Rodney is the next generation of Arizona leadership because he understands the best way to bring people together is to provide everyone with a seat the table. I am proud that he has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the National Education Association, the AFL-CIO Arizona, and even the Arizona Republic, Arizona’s largest newspaper. Most important, though, I would like him to be supported by you.

Please join me today in supporting Rodney’s campaign. Rodney will move Arizona and our nation forward on a path of progress — click here to donate $50, $100, all the way up to $4,800 so that Arizona will be represented by a senator who puts service of the people over service to self or a narrow special interests.

Se Puede,

Dolores Huerta

Co-Founder of United Farm Workers

P.S. The Rodney Glassman for U.S. Senate campaign is quickly gaining ground. We need your help to build an even more successful campaign.

  1. Michael Holliday says

    No. Don’t believe the lie!

We do not need comprehensive immigration reform.

We need comprehensive immigration enforcement as mass deportation of illegals.

    The sooner the better.

Eisenhower threw out 14 million illegal aliens. We can do it again.

    First, make them self deport.

Then, end the anchor baby program.

Then round up the illegal aliens that are left and throw them out.

Then vote clowns like Maobama and Janet Napolitano out of office.

70 percent of Americans support SB 1070 in its original form. The majority not only rules here, but they are actually right!

Anything else is gibberish. I wouldn’t vote any of these clowns in if they were the last candidates on earth.

Now, I’m here to tell you it’s not only OK to voice these sentiments, it’s the right thing to do.

  2. Rodney Britz Glassman is a Republican in Democrat clothes. He comes straight form the Britz – Glassman clan in Fresno County, CA who write a lot of checks to the GOP. He was sent to Tucson to run an ice rink his family bought. They needed to spend some of the money they got from US taxpayers via the agricultural subsidies. A little research on the internet will show who he really is.

Care to cite a source for the 14 million? Perhaps that was a typo? Remember, you’ve already instructed us to not believe a lie, professor.

  4. Mr. Mustachio :{O says

“I am proud that he has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood Federation of America…”

Red flag. Didn’t even get to the rest of the endorsements.

  5. I didn’t read the post at all…just checking to see if Jack Harper posted his rant against CQ on this one too!

  6. Ron,

Not that I don’t believe you (I recall seeing something about his family in the Tucson Citizen), but if he’s really a Republican and scion of a big farming family, how did he get the endorsement of a farm union leader like Huerta?

  7. Yeah let’s all vote for Rodney! He did such A GREAT JOB while he was Tucson City Council member and vice-mayor. Rio Nuevo, the 4th Ave Underpass and the Modern streetcar projects are all disasters that happened under Rodney’s watch leadership.

  8. Kenny Jacobs says

I wonder if Mr. Holliday will ever respond to my question, hmmmm?

  9. @JJ — no one is quite sure – it certainly has me puzzled!!! some hanky panky going on here??

  10. Kenny Jacobs says

Mr. Holliday made statements in his first comment that are not true.

“Official federal statistics show that during the whole decade of the 1950s, the federal government formally removed 150,000 illegal aliens and recorded about 3.9 million “voluntary departures.” So even a whole decade worth of deportations, calculated in the most generous way possible, gets us to less than one-third of the total cited in the e-mail.”

    -politifact :

I understand he has dreams of being a radio star and has posted on other threads on this blog since I requested his proof. But he has no proof because Mr. Holliday is fond of cut-n-paste from chain emails.

Mr. Holliday, shall we delve into the rest of your “work” here?

  11. …And now it comes to pass, even how Glassman spent his family’s money on his campaign was controlled by his old man back in Fresno contrary to FEC rules and just plain good sense. (See the AZ Capitol Times, Aug 22, 2010.) No wonder half his staff quit.

Dolores Huerta will rue endorsing this Blue Dog Democrat-in-the-making as long as he’s a candidate. The rest of us have a duty to help relieve her of this moral burden by relieving the state’s Democrats of having Glassman as their US Senate candidate in November.
