FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE

A Panel Discussion: OBAMACARE

Phoenix, AZ – On Wednesday, February 8, 2012, Arizona Mainstream Project (AMP) will bring to the public a panel discussion on Obamacare. Speaking on this panel will be Goldwater Institute’s Senior Attorney Diane Cohen and Director – Center for Economic Prosperity Byron Schlomach, Dr. Jeff Singer, and former AZ Congressman John Shadegg. 550 KFYI Talk Host Terry Gilberg will be the moderator for the discussion.

Each panel member will share their personal expertise and direct involvement with uncovering the facts about The Affordable Care Act and how it has begun and will continue to negatively impact the lives of ALL Americans. You will gain a better understanding of this law and how it applies to your access to health care, the current legal battles, and how you can help stop this anti-American and socialistic agenda.

Diane Cohen:

The Affordable Care Act mandated states to establish insurance exchanges by 2014 or have exchanges set up by HHS. These exchanges are nothing more than invitation-only clubs where only government sanctioned insurers can play. They must meet all the federally mandated medical coverages/benefits specified by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. In an effort to preserve some sovereignty, states, even some who opposed the federal healthcare law, including Arizona, are rushing to get federal money to set up these exchanges. Diane Cohen, Senior Attorney, of the Goldwater Institute will refute this notion. Ms. Cohen has testified before Congress on the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB). She will explain what effect this fifteen-member board of political appointees will have in our future.

Dr. Byron Schlomach:

Byron will discuss how government is at the root of our problems in health care, making it the problem, not the solution. He will show you how our income tax system plays a major role in determining what our health care system looks like and how it operates.

Dr. Jeff Singer:

Dr. Singer will discuss the ways in which “Obamacare” will affect the patient doctor relationship, the relationship of the doctor with the state, the relationship of the patient with the state, the loss of personal autonomy, and the ultimate decrease in quality and rationing of heath care that will inevitably result from “Obamacare.”

John Shadegg:

President Obama promised that the cost of health care would go down and it hasn’t. A recent HHS press release acknowledged that premiums have gone up by as much as 12.8% in the last year after the rates were reviewed by state bureaucrats under the provisions of Obamacare. Obama has also promised that if you liked your health care plan, you could keep it. Yet, we now know that Obamacare mandates will not allow anyone to keep the plan they had. As the nation’s economy struggles, Obamacare increases taxes by 800 billion dollars and crushes jobs. Learn how free market solutions will reform health care in ways that promotes quality and reduces costs for all Americans.

Greetings!

We are in the last stretch before Election Day! We need YOUR HELP to push us over the finish line! Here are the details of two opportunities that you can do to help!

1. Neighborhood Walk! Tomorrow, Saturday October 29th, we will meet at the Bagel Gourmet at 9:30 AM to go out into neighborhoods to talk with voters. The weather is expected to be fantastic, and this is a great opportunity to get a couple hours of exercise in while talking to voters and gaining their support.

2. Phone Calls! We have had many volunteers make phone calls on the campaign and the feedback we get is always the same: people are very receptive to hearing about a candidate! You can join us in these efforts in two different ways. The first way is the Phone Bank we’re doing Monday-Thursday from 5:30-8:00 pm at 3501 N 24th St. here in Phoenix. The second way is to make calls from home! Simply email us and we will send you a list and a script. These calls can be made from anywhere and will only take about 2 hours.

These opportunities will both take only 2 hours of your time and will help elect desperately needed New Leadership to Phoenix! Please help Eric out by volunteering for one of these opportunities!

Anyone who thinks they will be casting a vote for a Republican if they vote for Wes Gullett for Phoenix Mayor is vastly mistaken. Wes is a top supporter of liberal Democrats like Raul Grijalva, Harry Mitchell, Ed Pastor, Tom Daschle, and David Obey. Wes gave Raul Grijalva $1,000 the same week Grijalva called for a boycott against Arizona over SB 1070, and Wes DID NOT EVEN DEMAND A REFUND! (Check it out by going to the FEC website and typing Gullett in).

Well Wes, better late than never, if you are really a Republican why don’t you demand a refund of the money you gave to Raul Grijalva to help him keep his Congressional seat so he could continue his radical left-wing assault on Arizona and America??!! All told, Wes has given nearly $20,000 to liberal Democrats in the last few years.

Wes is also a big contributor to the Arizona Democrat Party, shelling out $500 for them during Napolitano’s reign of error. (Search here). Oh, almost forgot—Wes has so many left-wing flaws that his support for Janet Napolitano almost gets lost in the shuffle. Napolitano almost bankrupted our state, but there was Wes cheering her on. Anyone who thinks this uberlobbyist insider will actually cut government needs to face the facts.

Gullett has also admitted working for the Service Employees International Union, which organized the 1070 boycott of Arizona.

Gullett has also fought to maintain taxpayer funded welfare benefits for illegal aliens, as well as to keep it nice and easy for them to vote illegally (probably for lefties like Wes.) Fortunately the voters of Arizona passed Proposition 200 in 2004, despite Wes’ urging a NO vote on this. Wes thought that illegal aliens should be able to collect welfare from you and me, and not be bothered with things like having to show a real I.D. (NOT a matricula consular) at the polling place.

Wes should not be rewarded for being a RINO—his voter registration is the ONLY thing Republican about Wes. There’s a word for such a shameless play–dishonesty.

Those who are tempted to vote for him should also consider what his real ambition is, and that is the Senate seat that Senator McCain will leave in 2016. The timing would be perfect for Wes if he could just get elected Mayor—he could spend four years boosting his profile and getting good press from his left-wing buddies at the Republic, then run.

Senator Gullett would make even the most hardcore JD Hayworth supporter pine for the conservative by comparison days of John McCain as our senator. Gullett is a VERY close confidante of Senator McCain, having worked for him and managed his campaigns.

Let’s not kid yourselves, when we settle for RINOs we just encourage more of them.

NO Wes for US Senator, NO Wes for Mayor. NO MORE RINO’s!

FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE

A Panel Discussion: The Mexican-American “Raza” Controversial Ethnic Studies Program in the Tucson Unified School District

Phoenix, AZ – On Saturday, September 10, 2011, Arizona Mainstream Project (AMP) will bring to the public a panel discussion on the controversial Mexican-American or “Raza” ethnic studies program being taught in the Tucson United School District (TUSD). Speaking on this panel will be Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne, Andy LaFevre (Public Relations Director for AZ State Superintendent John Huppenthal), Loretta Hunnicutt (founder TU4SD), John Ward (former ethnic studies teacher), Lisa Ruth (educator/activist), Rey Torres (President of Arizona Latino Republican Association), and Gabriela Saucedo Mercer (activist/CD 7 candidate). KFYI Talk Host Terry Gilberg will be moderating this panel discussion.

The panel will not only discuss events leading up to Superintendent John Huppenthal’s recent report that found TUSD in violation of A.R.S. 15-112, but will also discuss the real objectives of this controversial curriculum taught in the Tucson Unified School District; these include the overthrow of our government, ethnic resentment, and the redefining of “la familia.” The TUSD Mexican-American Ethnic Studies program is widely seen as a “militant” model to be spread throughout the country.

Each panel member will share their personal experience and direct involvement with uncovering the facts of this issue and how it has negatively impacted the Tucson community and how it affects all of America. You will gain an understanding of its history, the current legal battles, and needed citizen activism to stop this anti-American agenda.

This event will be held at the Phoenix Airport Marriott Hotel located at 1101 North 44th Street in Phoenix, Arizona, from 2 pm- 5 pm, MST. Cost to attend is $15.00 per person.
Where would you look for information? Who would you hire? One of the services that sites like Sonoran Alliance provide is insider information.

In the comments section, please leave your thoughts on Arizona’s political consultants. Who would you hire and why? Who delivers the impossible for their clients? Who loses races for their candidates that they should easily win?

You’ll never see it in the mainstream media, but it’s high time we started figuring it out.

Based on your comments and discussions with other grass roots activists, we’ll have a fuller post next week.

Gullett’s Guts: A political consultant running for office takes a lot of bravery. Lose and it will forever be used against you. That Wes Gullett is even in the discussion about a November run-off is a victory for hm. Win or lose, he comes out a winner.

Quik Way To Lose Quik Mojo: Without any support from a single candidate running for Phoenix office this cycle, Proposition 2 has become a curious campaign with Quik Trip spending heavily to defend afronting a neighborhood in order to build their 27th station in the Valley. They primarily argue we are a good company, so vote for us. But as opponents pointed out in a recent mailer the U.S. Department of Justice fined them millions for discriminating against the disabled and the U.S. Department of Labor fined them nearly a million dollars for ripping off their employees. Calls to mind Homer Simpson’s most famous line.

I Used To Be Somebody: Once prolific Phoenix political consultant Gary Kaasa is no more. Claude Mattox’s inept campaign, fleeced by consultants Kaasa and Joe Yuhas, spells the end of Kaasa’s career and casts serious doubts on Yuhas’ ability to be taken seriously moving forward.

Beware Waring: He will come close to winning outright Tuesday night, but not quite. Over/Under is 15 on his margin over appointed councilperson Bryan Jeffries.

Not exactly Phoenix ’11 election related but here’s a prediction for ’14: Phoenix City Councilman Bill Gates will seriously consider if not run for Arizona Attorney General.

A few weeks ago, we carried a post about Pinal County Supervisor, Pete Rios getting busted speeding. He tried to pull a “well officer don’t you know who I am?” but ended up getting a ticket anyway. That led to some politically incestuous dealings resulting in the police chief of the small rural town of Hayden having his job put on the line.

Earlier tonight, the mayor and council met to discuss the fate of Chief Monty Antcliff who was represented by local attorney, Chris DeRose.

Here is some media coverage by the ABC affiliate out of Tucson, KGUN-9, and a call-in by Sheriff Paul Babeu to the Mike Broomhead show this afternoon:

Mike Broomhead interview with Sheriff Paul Babeu.

Pete Rios is no stranger to threatening people who challenge him. As we noted in the earlier post, Rios threatened to punch fellow blogger Greg Patterson for exposing the scam he had going on his reimbursement for mileage to a property Rios owns but does not actually communte to. All I have to say is that it’s a good thing Sheriff Babeu didn’t pull him over that night!

As the first decade of the 21st century nears an end, the Middle East is a region with multiple conflicts that impact the world, and particularly the United States. With Iran crossing the nuclear threshold, civil wars raging in Iraq, Sudan, and Yemen, Christians embattled across the region, with Israel in existential peril and its survival being questioned, and radical Islam sweeping beyond the region, it is imperative, as Americans, that we have a knowledge and understanding of this region. Historian, author, and radio personality, Dr. Steven Carol can shed light on these issues and answer questions that arise. His books can be purchased at the seminar.
