Arizona Law Enforcement Supports Andy Tobin

Andy Tobin

The support for Andy Tobin’s Congressional Campaign within the Arizona law enforcement community has tremendous support and continues to gain momentum.

Four Sheriffs from Arizona’s First Congressional District have announced their endorsement of Tobin, citing his proven leadership in fighting to secure the border and supporting policies to keep Arizonans safe.

Sheriffs Allred, Sheahan, Richards and Mascher join Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, who endorsed the campaign in October. Additionally, Tobin’s congressional campaign received endorsements from The Arizona Police Association and The Phoenix Law Enforcement Association.

“I am pleased to join my fellow sheriffs in supporting Andy Tobin for Congress,” said Graham County Sheriff P.J. Allred. “It’s important to have a proven fighter for rural Arizona law enforcement in Washington. That is why I am endorsing him for United States Congress in my district.”

“Andy Tobin has been a leader in Arizona State government for years,” said Mohave County Sheriff Tom Sheahan. “I am fully supporting Andy in his bid to become a member of the United States Congress. Andy Tobin will bring that energetic leadership to congress that is presently lacking, especially in the 1st Congressional District of Arizona. Andy will make an excellent congressman.”

“I have known Speaker Tobin for many years,” said Retired Coconino County Sheriff Joe Richards (1960-2004). “As Sheriff of Coconino County for more than 40 years, I am very familiar with the concerns and needs of rural Arizonans. I have followed Andy’s entire legislative career, and I am wholeheartedly convinced that he will faithfully represent the needs of Coconino County residents and all rural Arizonans in Washington. It is for these reasons that I am endorsing Andy Tobin for Congress.”

“As a law enforcement professional, I believe Andy Tobin understands the challenges we face daily and supports our objectives,” said Yavapai County Sheriff Scott Mascher. “Andy Tobin has been a consistent advocate for the law enforcement issues faced in Arizona. I am pleased to endorse his campaign.”

“Andy has a proven record of fighting to enforce the law and protect Arizonans from illegal drug cartels and human smuggling,” said Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu. “We need more people in Washington who have stood tall against illegal immigration and understand its negative effects not only on Arizona but the entire country. As the Sheriff of Pinal County, I see the consequences of the federal government’s refusal to secure our border everyday. I’m confident that Andy Tobin is the only person in this race with the experience, record and the commitment to public safety and border security. That’s why I am endorsing Speaker Tobin for U.S. Congress.”

“Like most Americans, law enforcement and all public safety personnel hold a special place in my heart,” said Speaker Andy Tobin. “My father is a 22 year veteran of the New York City Police Department. I carry the values he instilled in my siblings and myself with me to this day. To have the support of Sheriffs Allred, Babeu, Mascher, Richards and Sheahan will go a long way toward securing our borders and serving rural Arizonans. My sincerest thanks to these great Sheriffs and to all public safety professionals for their daily sacrifice.”

Andy Tobin has demonstrated his unwavering commitment to Arizonians which has earned him the respect and endorsement of our community at large.  We can count on him to represent us in Congress with consistent conservative values and conviction.

Lisa Rigler – President, Small Business Alliance

As a small business owner and president of the Small Business Alliance, I get to work with some of Arizona’s most energetic entrepreneurs on a regular basis. The entrepreneurial spirit and fresh energy I see in other small businessmen and -women are qualities that I also see in Doug Ducey, and I know he will bring them to the governor’s office.

Doug built Cold Stone Creamery from a few shops in Arizona to a worldwide brand, so he’s well aware of the challenges small business owners face. He has an aggressive tax reform agenda that will attract businesses in a dynamic yet fiscally responsible way while also benefiting growing Arizona businesses.

With Doug’s leadership talents, reform-based approach to problem-solving, and positive outlook, I’m confident Arizona will have a bright future if he is our governor.

So, I encourage you to step up and cast your vote for Doug Ducey.  Whether you’re voting early at your kitchen table or you’re going to the polls on August 26th, if you’re looking for a small business champion, Doug should be your choice.

Doug can kick-start our economy, but he has to get elected first. Please sign up for a volunteer shift, put a bumper sticker on your car, and tell your employees, colleagues, friends and family: Doug Ducey for governor!

Let’s go Doug!

Conservative Leaders Support Diane Douglas

Diane Douglas

Diane Douglas, candidate for Superintendent of Public Instruction, released an endorsement list containing some of the most conservative members of the legislature. Her endorsements also includes former legislators who served with and know John Huppenthal. This is significant because they worked with Huppenthal and yet they are endorsing Douglas.

The most recent poll for the superintendent’s race showed Douglas ahead by 11 points right before early voting. Voters do not seem to be buying Huppenthal’s baseless attacks. Douglas is also doing an effective job of responding with her spirited radio ads.

Here is the list of conservative leaders who have endorsed Douglas for Superintendent.

Senators

Judy Burges (LD 22)
David Farnsworth (LD 16)
Rick Murphy (LD 21)

The National Review Online referred to the Halbig case as “Obamacare’s Biggest Legal Threat.” Pruitt will join Mark Brnovich and other leading conservative Arizona elected officials on the House lawn to discuss why he is supporting Mark Brnovich for Attorney General over Mark’s primary opponent, Tom Horne.

Arizona Conservative Club: Our Final 2014 Endorsement…

Early ballots are going out all over Arizona today, so without further delay, we would like to introduce you to our second and final endorsement of the 2014 cycle!

Jill Norgaard (LD18 House)

Jill Norgaard

Jill Norgaard

This is an open seat race, in a relatively safe Republican district, which means the primary will likely determine the occupant of the seat. Currently, it is represented by Representatives Bob Robson and Jeff Dial, and Senator John McComish, who have aggravated the base by shifting to the left on a host of issues, most importantly the ObamaCare Expansion vote in 2013.  They also walked away from budget negotiations until their demands for more spending were met in 2014.  McComish decided not to stick around for a primary challenge and is bailing out for a JP race, while Jeff Dial is going to try to go over to the State Senate and take his place.  That leaves Robson and an open seat on the House side.

When you meet with Norgaard you are impressed by her overall presentation and ideology.  Norgaard entered the race when she expected to run against Dial and Robson, and she was not intimidated at their financial advantage or by the outside groups that promised to weigh in on their behalf.  She has an engineering background and she is logical and sequential as you might expect.  She is very conservative across an entire range of issues, but her style of presentation reflects the common sense upon which conservative solutions are based more than the emotions that often drive them.  Jill Norgaard will be an excellent spokesperson for our conservative principles.

There are two other candidates in the race:  John King, another conservative who entered the race relatively late, and David Pheanis, who describes himself as a moderate in line with Robson and Dial.  Conservatives have every reason to resist the idea of another Robson or Dial and this race is a chance to elect a conservative and move the district to the right.  In an ideal world, Norgaard and King would both prevail, but Robson’s name ID and $100,000 war chest suggests there may only be one seat likely to be gained here.  Norgaard is our best chance to capture a seat for conservatives.

WHAT TO DO NEXT?

We would invite you to visit Jill’s website at http://jillnorgaard2014.com.  If you like what you read, we encourage you to click on Jill’s DONATE button and make a contribution.

As always, larger contributions are better, but we can still make a large statement by making a large number of contributions, even if they are individually small.  Jill is helped more by 500 contributions of $20 than by 20 contributions of $500, even though the math suggests otherwise.  Towards that end, if you like what you read and see about Jill Norgaard, GIVE SOMETHING!  The amount you give matters, but Jill needs to know that the conservative movement is supporting her, so please give something.

If you have any questions for Jill, her email address is on the right hand side of each page of her website.

Christine Jones’ Record of Donations Reveals Support for Liberal Democrats

Conservatives across Arizona are catching on quickly that Christine Jones is not who she says she is and her political donations expose her as anything but an “unapologetic conservative.”

While at GoDaddy making her millions and planning a run for Arizona Governor, she served as legal counsel. That meant she saw everything that came in and out the door including political action committee donations. What is revealing is that she gave $5,700 to Democrats, including one she lobbied over GoDaddy business matters.

Then there is the $30,000 in personal wealth she gave to the GoDaddy political action committee which went to liberal Democrats and their PAC’s. What is most disturbing is that this self-proclaimed “unapologetic conservative” as legal counsel said absolutely nothing to protest a chunk of her $30K going to unapologetic liberals and their PACs. One would think that senior legal counsel would have protested. She doth not.

Republican voters need to know that they won’t get an unapologetic conservative if they vote for Christine Jones. We followed the money and we hope you will too.

Here’s the recent press release from the Ducey campaign regarding the unapoligetically-exposed Christine Jones:

An ‘Unapologetic Conservative?’

PHOENIX (July 28, 2014) – Lawyer-lobbyist Christine Jones famously calls herself an “unapologetic conservative,” but her background says otherwise.

During the 2008-2012 election cycles, Jones donated nearly $6,000 to Democrat candidates running for Congress. She also gave $30,000 to the GoDaddy PAC, which in turn donated more than $81,000 to 23 Democratic Senate and House candidates over the same time frame.

“Apparently, it’s not enough for lawyer-lobbyist Christine Jones to mislead voters on her resume and border security plan, she’s also deceiving them about her so-called ‘conservative’ credentials,” said Melissa DeLaney, spokesperson for the Ducey campaign. “Christine Jones has donated thousands of dollars to liberal Democrats and she still calls herself ‘unapologetic?’ It would be laughable if it weren’t so alarming. If she doesn’t apologize to true conservatives for her lies and deliberate attempts to mislead Arizona voters, then I guess she really is a phony.”

PHONY JONES IN HER OWN WORDS & ACTIONS

Arizona Conservative Club Makes First 2014 Endorsement

Banner Art for FB

(REPRINTED FROM PRESS RELEASE TO CLUB MEMBERS – July 27th, 2014)

2012 was our first cycle, and with everyone getting used to the concept of how our group worked we chose to endorse in just one race.  We endorsed Darin Mitchell as a challenger to incumbent, and uber-liberal, Russ Jones.  Jones was the incumbent, Jones had the money, Jones had a geographic base, and Jones had the outside establishment groups.  It turns out that our guy had the message and our guy got the votes!  Since then, Darin Mitchell has not disappointed in the Legislature.  He has been the #1 or #2 ranked conservative on most scorecards, including AFP and Goldwater Institute.  We would have done well just electing an average conservative instead of Russ Jones, but we hit a home run with Darin.

So the bar is set pretty high for 2014.  We plan on getting involved in two races this cycle and want to introduce you to our first endorsed candidate.

Steve Smith (LD11 Senate)

SSmith CCEC

This is an open seat race, in a safe Republican district, which means the primary will likely the occupant of the seat.  Currently, it is represented by conservative Al Melvin, who ran for Governor until earlier this year.  Melvin is supporting State Representative Steve Smith in this race and he is doing so for the same reasons we are.  Steve Smith exploded onto the political scene in 2010 when he upset Rebecca Rios in a lean-Democrat district.  Rios and her father (Pete) had represented the district for more than two decades and Smith’s victory was the upset of the year.  In 2012, the Democrat majority on the redistricting commission drew Smith into the same district as Melvin.  Smith deferred to Melvin’s seniority and ran as a team with Melvin and Adam Kwasman. Smith is now running for the open Senate seat and is being opposed by self-described moderate Scott Bartle, who admits he was recruited by State Senator Steve Pierce.  This race is the #1 battleground for control of the State Senate by the conservative and moderate factions, and it may play a deciding role in whether the Senate President remains Andy Biggs or if Steve Pierce can get his hands on the gavel again.  That alone would make the race a top race, but let’s look at Smith’s record and you’ll see why he deserves the support.

Steve Smith is the #1 ranked conservative legislator in the entire Legislature.  When your goal is to protect the conservative legislature, defending the most conservative legislator in the entire body is a no-brainer. Steve Smith has a 100% pro-life, pro-school choice, pro-taxpayer, pro-2nd Amendment, pro-Constitution, pro-border security voting record.  He has been named Champion of the Taxpayer, Guardian of Small Business, and he wrote the bill to allow for the collection of private funds for the construction of a border fence.  He has a pile of great endorsements including Sheriff Joe Arpaio and former Senate President Russell Pearce.  Smith is the real deal.

His opponent supports Common Core, is the District President of a “C” graded school district, and he supports the ObamaCare Expansion, its $2.8 Billion price tag, and the higher taxes it comes with.  He is soft on social issues as well and opposed Arizona’s efforts to protect religious liberties for cases like Hobby Lobby.

Ordinarily, an incumbent like Smith would be expected to largely look after himself, because he has a fundraising base, name ID, etc.  In this case though, the special interest lobbyists are filling Bartle’s coffers and Bartle is already the top legislative recipient of outside spending.  Smith will likely be outspent by at least a 3-1 margin, so our contributions will make a genuine difference in the outcome of this race.

Arizona’s Conservative Grassroots Leader Endorses Andrew Thomas

Says Only Andrew Thomas Can Be Counted on to Provide Strong, Consistent Conservative Leadership

Rob Haney, immediate past Chairman of the Maricopa County Republican Party, has issued a public letter of endorsement of Andrew Thomas in the race for Governor.  The Arizona Capitol Times has called Haney Arizona’s conservative grassroots leader.

Rob Haney’s explanation of support will be handed out to voters at public meetings, gun shows and other venues throughout Arizona.  They express well the reasons behind the swelling conservative grassroots support for Andrew Thomas:

Why My Vote Is for Andrew Thomas for the Next Governor of Arizona

Seventeen years’ experience dealing with the “Top-Down” direction imposed nationally by the Republican Party elites and in Arizona chiefly by Senators John McCain and Jon Kyl, is why I support Andy Thomas for Governor.  Andy Thomas has a proven track record of supporting and defending the U.S. Constitution and the Republican Party Platform, and he carries the arrows and battle scars that come with that fight.

I have served as a precinct committeeman, State and County Member-at-Large, two terms as Legislative District 11 Chairman and two terms as Maricopa County Chairman.  When I stood up and exposed elected Republican officials for not following the Republican Platform or the U.S Constitution, I was attacked by the McCain led Republican Establishment.  No effort was spared by this group to silence me and others who dared to challenge the McCain ruling cabal. This cabal consists of the politicians, Chambers of Commerce (business owners who depended on the cheap labor of illegal aliens to staff their operations while we pay through our taxes for their benefits), columnists, radio hosts, lobbyists, bloggers, the “Interfaith-Social Justice” liberal class, and the agenda driven liberal lawyer class.

What I experienced was nothing compared to what the McCain cabal had in store for their primary targets: Senator Russell Pearce, Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas, and Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.  These were the three stalwarts who stood for the “rule of law”, represented the Republican grass roots, and most significantly for the McCain surrogates, opposed the illegal alien invasion.  These three had to be stopped  or the rest of the country would be tempted to replicate the Arizona actions that addressed the illegal invasion.

Have you ever known a more direct campaigner than Andy Thomas?  I have not.  Andy tells you his core beliefs, what he represents and the actions he will take once in office to correct government failings.   Others will equivocate about the issues, lie about their true beliefs, and avoid addressing the issues once in office.  Andy Thomas will not prevaricate.  From my experience, I know who the good guys are in the Republican Party and who the bad guys are.  Andy Thomas wears the whitest of the white hats.

In the Republican Party, we have a large quantity of “bipartisan” joiners with the Democrats.  We have very few fighters for the conservative side of an issue.  Even Rubio and Christie, who we believed were with us, have shown their true colors when they flipped using the “patented” McCain Flip-Flop.  We know that Andy Thomas is a fighter representing the base of the party and there will be no flip from him and his record proves it.

It is clear to me that our judicial branch of government no longer fulfills the original intent of our Founders in interpreting the law while being the least powerful branch of government.  They are now not only the most powerful, but hold veto power over all conservative initiated legislation when their liberal friends in the ACLU file suit to stop conservative passed legislation.

They wield this power with a liberal bent worthy of their liberal education and the liberal dominated American and Arizona Bar associations to which they belong.  Judges are selected from this liberal dominated class of lawyers.   It is no surprise to me that these lawyers attacked Thomas where they could dominate the proceedings.  It is also no surprise that everyone from the Maricopa County Republican Committee to conservative columnist Michelle Malkin to even liberal writers at the Arizona Republic denounced the attack on Andy Thomas.

A panel from the Arizona Bar pulled Andy Thomas’ law license.  However, the federal Grand Jury (which is so noted for the ease of securing an indictment on minimal evidence that the term “they would indict a ham sandwich” refers to the Grand Jury) which looked at the same case at the request of the Obama Justice Department refused to indict him or Sheriff Joe Arpaio for lack of evidence.  The Grand Jury is made up of the non-lawyer class and rejected as insufficient the same evidence the lawyer class used to pull his license.  What does that tell you about how out of touch, liberal and dishonest our courts have become?   What it tells voters is that Andy Thomas did nothing wrong and was falsely accused because he challenged the liberal judiciary on issue after issue.  With this simple and honest explanation, he can explain to voters what actually happened and win their support.

The Republican and Democrat ruling class consider Thomas dangerous because they know that once elected he will keep his campaign promise to attack corruption by both the Republican and Democrat office holders.  The “cabal” will devote a great amount of money and effort to defeat him.  They have started with “He can’t win” (because of all the baggage from their charges).  The Republican establishment also stated that Senator Cruz of Texas was not able to win.  But he did, and now is our most effective conservative advocate in the U.S. Senate.

Andy Thomas won the only straw poll in the race so far, by ten points over his closest competitor.  The poll was done by a web site that opposes Andy’s candidacy.  He is picking up signatures and $5 Clean Elections contributions from voters with amazing ease.  I know because I have been at the meetings collecting them for him.

We are not going to reverse the slide into oblivion by the Republican Party by selecting the same type of liberal leaning, milquetoast Republicans for our candidates.  If we do, we will get promises to seal the border, enforce current immigration laws and oppose Obamacare.  But we would only continue to see their promises reversed and conservative principles abandoned while they surrender to Democrats yet claim victory through bipartisan legislation.  This legislation has always moved the political spectrum to the left.  Don’t you think fifty years of this process is enough?

Which is easier to take, a dagger to the chest from a Democrat governor or one to the back from a McCain-supported Republican governor?  But there is another choice.  That is why I will vote Andy Thomas for governor, secure in the knowledge that our laws will be upheld.  You will recall that Andy supported legislation to force judges to deny bond to criminal illegal aliens, he followed the law and prosecuted employers who knowingly hired illegal aliens and he prosecuted illegal aliens as co-conspirators in human trafficking cases.

Do you really believe there are only 11 million illegal aliens in the country, that there is very little inflation, that the border has never been more secure, and that the expansion of Medicaid under Obamacare will save us money?  Where do our leaders come up with this malarkey?  It is from all the people I described in the second paragraph.  Andy has assured me that he will faithfully consult the conservative grass roots of the party as he has in the past.  They have been ignored too long and the party has suffered enormously because of it.

In our hearts, we all know that Andy Thomas would do the best job as governor.  Let’s make sure he gets there.

Immediate Past GOP Chairman Endorses Andrew Thomas

Tom Morrissey, Immediate Past Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party, has endorsed Andrew Thomas for Governor.

Morrissey, who served as state Republican Party Chairman from 2008 to 2012, praised Thomas and urged voters to cast their ballots for him.

Morrissey said, “I support this great man and urged him to run for Governor.  Andrew Thomas is, by far, the leader we have been hoping would arise.”

“I am honored to receive this endorsement from Tom Morrissey, who was an outstanding and solid conservative during his time as Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party,” Thomas said.

Morrissey’s endorsement adds to the list of Republican and conservative leaders and activists who have endorsed Thomas.  They include Rob Haney, Immediate Past Chairman of the Maricopa County Republican Party, Anna Gaines, nationally renowned leader of the fight against illegal immigration, and Andrew Costanzo, the floor leader of the Arizona Republican Party’s censure of John McCain in 2014.

Scott Smith Jeopardizes A Governor Brewer Endorsement

Those who attended the latest gubernatorial debate Tuesday night probably caught this damning revelation by former Mesa Mayor Scott Smith regarding the performance of the current chief executive, Jan Brewer. In this stunning revelation Mayor Scott Smith says he doesn’t believe that state government has really been reformed under Governor Brewer’s leadership.

At a time when each of the candidates are hoping for a coveted endorsement from Governor Brewer, comments like this deserve to put an endorsement out of play and out of reach for Mayor Smith.
