Arizona House Members Endorse Tobin

“Andy Tobin never wavers in his conservative values.”

Tobin’s fellow legislators at the State Capitol show an outpouring of support for his campaign today, citing his integrity, honesty and battle-tested conservative values.

“Throughout my legislative career I have always respected Andy Tobin as a fair, thoughtful and diligent legislator,” said Arizona State Representative Tom Forese. “Together, we cut taxes in Arizona, cut state spending, fought for secure borders, fought to protect life, fought to protect 2nd amendment rights and fought against ObamaCare. It is for these reasons, and many more, that I endorse Andy Tobin for Congress in Arizona’s 1st Congressional District. I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to stand behind Tobin as he takes on the challenge of restoring Arizona to its conservative values.”

“As Speaker Tobin’s seat mate for the past four years, I have seen first-hand how much Andy cares about and advocates for the people he represents,” said State Rep. Karen Fann. “Andy has been tirelessly fighting for conservative values in Arizona for years. Whether he’s fighting against federal government overreach and ObamaCare or fighting for the unborn and our 2nd Amendment rights, Andy Tobin never wavers in his conservative values. Sylvia Tenney Allen Endorses Kwasman in CD1

Supervisor Sylvia Tenney Allen – Dist 3
Former State Senator – Dist 5
Press Release –

Endorsement for Representative, Adam Kwasman for Congress

It’s time for me to speak up about who I am supporting for our Congressional District 1 race. We have three Republican candidates. It’s easy to see that Andy Tobin has been chosen by the establishment as the “anointed one,” but that doesn’t make him the “right one.” I have worked with Mr. Tobin at the capitol, and I know firsthand that he plays the political games I’m tired of.

Gary Kiehne’s background in oil and ranching gives him a good perspective on a few important issues, but my choice for our next Congressman is State Representative Adam Kwasman.

Adam is a young man, 31 years old, who is full of energy, passion and fire. He never stops, he never backs down. He believes in what he says and what he does, and he has the courage to face the beast. We need the smart, vibrant young people of his generation to save this country from the catastrophic debt that is crushing us, from the excessive regulations that kill industry, and from the unceasing attacks on our individual liberties.

Adam loves the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He loves the traditions of his fathers. His integrity and his character are rooted in a thousand years of history and a devotion to Godly principles. I have heard Adam pray, and his prayer warmed my heart.

Adam’s grandfather was the first of his family to be born in America. His great-grandparents had come from Ukraine when they arrived in America they only spoke English in their home because “now we live in America.”

Adam was born and raised in Tucson. He works as an economist, consulting for financial advisors, forecasting how our tax, regulatory, and legal framework affect economic growth. He earned his B.A. (cum laude) from Tulane University and an M.A. in economics from George Mason University. We need economists in Washington who understand the dangers of government debt and the foolishness of printing more and more money.

Adam’s fight for Constitutional liberty began while working at the Cato Institute’s Center for Constitutional Studies. He knows and loves our Constitution and the governing principles our nation was founded upon. He will not play political games. He will stand on principle.

This election cycle, I am looking for someone a cut above the typical political candidate – someone stronger, smarter, and more solid. I’m tired of the usual polished, packaged, glib candidate whom we elect over and over again and who then goes to Washington and breaks our hearts. I am looking for an Adam Kwasman.

Don’t tell me he can’t win. He can if you vote for him. Don’t tell me he can’t raise enough money. He can if you donate to him at www.adamkwasman.com.

We can have a strong statesman in D.C. who will represent us – the people. We can have a congressman who will fight for our issues, who will uphold the Constitution, and who will resist the giddy allure of the Washington elite. We can have someone with a wise understanding of the proper role of government who will be guided by principle, not pressure from special interests. We can have Adam Kwasman. Join me in supporting Adam Kwasman, our next CD1 Congressman.

Jay Lawrence

Jay Lawrence

Phoenix — Today the Arizona Police Association Executive Director, Levi Bolton, joined by Joe Clure, President of the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, announced their endorsement of LD23 Republican Candidate for the Arizona House, Jay Lawrence. “I have spent more than 25 years publicly speaking out for causes like limited government, restoring our Constitutional rights, and letting the free market cure what ails us,” Lawrence stated.  “Having the endorsement of the largest law enforcement associations in the state and in Phoenix gives me feelings of both pride and humility. With your support I am ready to go to work, representing your hopes and dreams, and building the best possible Arizona for all of our families.”

Alliance of Principled Conservatives Endorses Darla Dawald in LD-8 House Race

Darla Dawald

Darla Dawald

The Alliance of Principled Conservatives confidently endorses Ms. Darla Dawald’s candidacy for the Arizona State House Representatives, Legislative District 8.

Darla is a committed conservative Republican who believes in the core principles of the Republican Party; Limited Government, Low Taxes, Individual Liberty and Responsibility. We have no doubt that Darla will uphold these principles and act in accordance with the U.S. and Arizona Constitutions to protect our rights. Darla will not turn her back to the committed conservatives and dedicated precinct committeemen of our great state. She will oppose the efforts of crony capitalists and special interest groups who seem intent on making Arizona a “Big Government and High Taxes State.” Darla is committed to repealing Obamacare in Arizona, including the Hospital Bed Tax. She will eliminate Common Core, the Federal takeover of our schools, returning control of our schools to parents and local school boards, not Washington DC bureaucrats.

Last, but most importantly, she will restore fiscal sanity to the Arizona budgetary process by ensuring the state budget is structurally balanced and our debts are paid.

Please lend your full support and your vote to Darla Dawald.

Challenger Landis Earns An Unusual (and NOT helpful) Endorsement

3 Candidates

Goodyear Mayor trashes conservatives as reason for supporting Landis

Mayor Georgia Lord

Mayor Georgia Lord

In an unusual move for Republican Party politics, Goodyear Mayor Georgia Lord has endorsed Litchfield Park City Councilwoman Diane Landis in her race against State Representatives Steve Montenegro and Darin Mitchell in large part because Montenegro and Mitchell were both conservatives and, as she put it, “What have conservatives ever accomplished at the federal or state level? Nothing, except saying ‘No!’”

While Mayor Lord is certainly entitled to support Landis as an alternative to having conservatives in office, it is worth reminding Mayor Lord of just a few of the many good things conservatives have done in Arizona:

  • Turned the liberal Napolitano deficit into a budget surplus
  • Made Arizona the most 2nd Amendment friendly state in the nation
  • Took major steps to fight against illegal immigration
  • Resisted liberal calls for permanent tax hikes that would cost Arizona jobs
  • Passed major transparency legislation to allow taxpayers to know how their government spends its money
  • Helped Arizona earn the #6 ranking for Economic Climate
  • Made Arizona the most school choice friendly state in the nation
  • Turned Arizona into the #1 state in the country for entrepreneurial startups
  • Cut taxes and turned Arizona into a top-5 state for job growth
  • Protected Private Property Rights
  • Worked successfully to bring the F-35 fighter to Luke AFB
  • And much much more…

“As conservatives, I don’t think that Steve (Montenegro) or I are surprised to be challenged from our left, but I think the Mayor is wrong in her attacks on conservatives both at the state and federal level.” said Darin Mitchell.

“Darin and I ran as conservatives and were elected as conservatives. We owe it to our district to act in its best interest and to govern as we promised to do.” said Steve Montenegro.

In comparison, Landis has consistently earned failing grades from taxpayer groups, was named “Friend of Big Government” by American for Prosperity Arizona, supported the ObamaCare Medicaid Expansion, and has presided over the draining of much of Litchfield Park’s Rainy Day Fund to cover ordinary operating expenses.

John McCain backing Andy Tobin in AZ01

Earlier today Andy Tobin held a high-end fundraiser in Paradise Valley for his campaign to represent Arizona’s Congressional District 1. The seat is currently represented by Ann Kirkpatrick.

The event featured the most recent Republican nominee for president, Mitt Romney. The Tobin campaign had already announced their endorsement from Jon Kyl but the invite for today’s lunch added Jeff Flake and John McCain as “Honorary Chairs” of Tobin’s campaign.

The recent addition of Flake and McCain can mean only one thing – Andy Tobin has cut a deal to support Amnesty once he gets to Washington. Those two senators would not have settled for anything less and they both are vocal proponents for lax enforcement of immigration laws. Voter of District 1 should take note.

Andy Tobin John McCain

This news follows Tobin’s public call for “legal status” for those not legally in the U.S. He added, “We’re not going to be sending all these people home”. Clearly not if he and McCain and Flake get their way. No wonder some have taken to calling him Amnesty Andy.

Matt Salmon asks Tom Horne to exit AG race, Will others follow Salmon’s lead?

Matt Salmon

Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne must dread the vision of seeing his caller ID display the phone number of a member of Arizona’s congressional delegation.

One of those calls occurred this afternoon. It was Congressman Matt Salmon.

Salmon was the first in what I would expect to be several calls from high-ranking Republicans and party officials asking the embattled Attorney General to withdrawal from the race. It’s another version of a political landslide – when you lose the vote of confidence of the political establishment.

At this point, we don’t know whether Senator John McCain, Senator Jeff Flake, former Senator Jon Kyl or Congressmen, Gosar, Schweikert or Franks have made that same call.

Like many other Republicans, I would hope those calls happen soon.

Regardless, I applaud my Congressman Matt Salmon for making the first public call.

It’s never an easy thing to talk a candidate out of a race. It’s even harder to convince an incumbent and fellow Republican to withdraw from a high stakes race. Candidates usually have an abundance of money, ego, divine inspiration or an amalgam of all of the above holding them back from making a political humiliating move. The more pressure they feel from their elected peers, the more political reality penetrates their psyche and it becomes an act of sacrifice rather than humility.

A united congressional delegation and the revoked unwritten endorsement by the state party chairman would have that very effect in the case of Tom Horne.

Republicans are supposed to hold to higher ethics because that’s just the inherent nature of a party that respects moral and ethical absolutes. It’s expected of us and its why Republicans suffer tremendous backlash when someone makes a mistake. We’re the party of higher standards and we have an obligation to self-regulate and discipline our ranks.

Then there’s the political reality that Republicans will lose the Attorney General’s seat to a rambunctious and capricious Democrat only to bring her closer to the Governor’s office. Some of us remember all to well the 1998 Primary in which John Kaites and Tom McGovern beat each other up so badly it paved the roadway for Janet Napolitano to take the office of AG and eventually Governor. Let’s be politically smart this time and save the state from another political dark age.

We all owe Congressman Matt Salmon tremendous gratitude for looking into the future and having the courage to make that tough call to Attorney General Horne. Let’s hope others will also see into the future far enough ahead and set us on a path that avoids political disaster.

Thank you Congressman Salmon!
