  1. Conservative to the Core says

It’s interesting that in Laura Knaperek reports shows that’s she’s using Nathan Sproul company, Gordon and Lisa James, and had to return extra money back to Jason LeVecke. This is the same group that fought the employer sanctions and the same group that is sponsoring the ballot intitiave that will water down the employer sanctions. This group is also having a fundraiser for a man that’s been a Republican 5 Day before filing to be a candidate for the State House. Very Interesting……..

  2. Two interesting things in two different races. I see Knaperek lent herself $50,000. I’m not sure why since it doesn’t get her anywhere near competitive in that race, but she’s actually raised far less money than Mark Anderson, who nobody gives any chance to win.

And in CD8, Tim Bee’s burn rate is WAY too high. So many consultants for a man who doesn’t even have a primary. That’s a candidate who isn’t very good at saying “No” right there. He hires everybody!

  3. Big Sister says

Conservative…or should I say Jamie, get over it. The echo chamber whining is getting tiresome. So what! Your not so veiled attempt at pulling this story over to point out your personal interest is disgusting. To draw a story about FEC reporting out into the weeds, make connections to people in hopes of guilt by association just to get around to your husbands race smacks of desperation.

    Maybe you should get counseling.

  4. kralmajales says

    Tim,

Interesting points both. Schweikert seems to be leading the pack on funds to take on Mitchell. Ogsbury appeared to have a pretty bad quarter overall…way less than $100K…that wont cut it against an incumbent.

As for Bee, it looks like he now has over $600 on hand. He raised a respectable over $300K this period. Your point about the burn rate is right on though. He had about $500K on hand at the end of the LAST quarter. I want to see Giffords numbers. She had well over a million on hand last time and I suspect, at this rate, will be able to bury Bee in ads linking him to Bush and conservatives at a time when he wants to appear a sensible RINO, moderate.

  5. kralmajales says

Oh…District one is going to be the big story. Sidney Hay added a paltry amount to her campaign coffers. In a district as big as Pennsylvania, she cannot afford to be so far behind Kirkpatrick. Anne is going to dust her.

    I still don’t get why ya’ll couldn’t find a better candidate than a mining lobbyist…especially now.

  6. kralmajales says

By the way…I am sooo sorry…I should have led with this…

THIS IS A GREAT POST…GREAT WORK CANDIE.

  7. Conservative to the Core says

    Big Sister,

You assume too much. I’m just another concern reader that pays attention. Especially to border issues.

You might want to hold personal attacks on people until you know what your talking about. (PS…Liberals usually go for personal attacks instaed of debaing the issues)

Obviously, the open border crowd supports Knapereck over Schweikert for a reason. It’s just interesting that invite was out at the same time. I read more than one blog.

  8. cd5 is alive says

I am a republican, a conservative and most importantly a proud American. I stand by Laura Knaperek and love how she has ran such a refreshing campaign. I know that she will be the winner and can’t wait for 9-2-08!!!

  9. I haven’t given to CD1, 5 or 8 yet… I’d like to give to Schweikert, but he’s doing pretty well on money right now. Bee’s performance on the budget and the marriage amendment means he doesn’t deserve the money. Frankly, I may give my money to Hay in CD1 because she’s an awesome conservative and that will be the cheapest race, so my money will make the most difference there.

  10. Conservative to the Core says

Hay has been a long time Republican Party supporter and a great conservative. She’s friendly ,warm and very down to earth. It would be a great investment.

  11. I beleive that the CFG chose Dave a little too soon. He doesn’t resonate well the the voters of CD5. As a matter of fact, f you take out his mortgage loan he gave his campaign and the money from the CFG. I think he finishes close to last in money raised.
I have been to 2 debates and IMO David has finished last both times. He has no substance or style. I cant see him take out Harry.
I feel that Laura is our best hope at getting the party united behind 1 candidate to beat Harry and win back the CD5 seat. I know that her cash on hand might not be as high as Jim or Dave, but she is running a grassroots campaign and I am supporting her. I have my yard sign and bumper sticker and will do all I can to help her win.

  12. Well Momma, you’ve done a good job supporting Laura and knocking the frontrunner. That’s your job I suppose. I wonder who has more contributors, Schweikert or Knaperek. That’s one good way to measure grassroots support. We could compare signatures as well, although I think Schweikert had more than Knaperek but less than Ogsbury. Of course, Ogsbury might have paid for some… Oh well, I guess we’ll see in another 6-7 weeks!

  13. My support for Laura is not a news flash, since when is she an open borders person? Good grief! Will some people stop at nothing to make others look bad just so they won’t?

I read this post, started to write and backed off because I knew my words would be associated with evil immigration and twisted…So, here is the disclaimer…I am not a supporter of amnesty or open borders. Look at the kidnapping stats and the number of police officers killed in the line of duty, all related to illegal aliens. The recent shootings involving Mexican nationals dressed in police uniforms…remember my husband is a Phx. Police Officer and this is not a new thing. I am as frustrated as anyone and want an answer, too…now! Just because I do not agree with Goldwater or with LaVec (sp?) doesn’t mean I can’t have an opinion on who would best serve on ALL the issues on Congress.

So…DO NOT EVEN TRY TO PAINT ME WITH THE OPEN BORDERS BRUSH!

Get off the open borders label. You are short on sense and understanding and long on hot air. It is summer in Phoenix, we have enough already.

  14. Great post, Ann. I didn’t even want to reply to Conservative 2 the Core’s remark about trying to tie Knaperek to the open boarders crowd. What a shame that we have a “conservative” spreading this innuendo that Laura Knaperek is for open boarders. Shame on yourself, Con2thecore.
Tim- Why must you bag on Knaperek for loaning herself 50k? Would you rather have seen her loan herself maybe 250k? Anyways, there are 2 weeks left until early voting begins, so lets see what happens. Remember w/ 5 major candidates, 1 can’t buy the vote as easy as he/she may like.

  15. Conservative to the Core says

I was just at Laura’s website I find it interesting that she doesn’t even address illegal immigration as an issue. That shows how important it is to her.

So before you start the personal attacks you may want to review your candidate.

  16. Conservative to the Core says

To be fair, Jim Ogsbury doesn’t even address illegal immigration.

  17. c2c-Easy there, Tiger. It looks like you are the one with the personal attacks. What counts is the actions of the candidates. I look @ Laura’s track record and her voting history and I am assured that she is the best choice for CD5.

  18. CraigsList says

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=VExjf03z__0

How can you say Ogsbury doesn’t address immigration Conservative to the Core? He basically did an entire TV spot explaining his solution to that very problem.

  19. Conservative to the Core says

Candidates know that their website is the best place to air their views on the issues.Candidates can write as much as they want for little cost. Candidates also know that people that really care about the issues will look to their websites. Illegal Immigration is one of the top issues in this race and yet she ignores the issue. I think that that’s an action that speaks volumes.

  20. Conservative to the Core says

    Craig:

I didn’t know about the youtube, I was addressing his website under issues.

  21. Relax Momma, I didn’t bag on Laura for giving herself $50k, she can do whatever she wants. I’m saying it doesn’t make sense, then you bagged on me for expressing my opinion. Don’t let it bother you, ’cause I’m not gonna stop! (Ann will vouch for me…)

Lending yourself a small amount of money that fails to make you competitive makes no campaign sense. The only thing it did was push her numbers above Mark Anderson’s so she wasn’t in last place of the 5 “major” candidates. Now, she may have a plan on how to win a race with one-tenth the money of other candidates and it may be a great plan. She might have needed the $50k because her plan only works if you have one-tenth rather than one-fifteenth or something. But that’s really not likely.

If Laura Knaperek could win races with one-tenth the money, she would be State Senator Knaperek and Mitchell would have been retired several years ago.

  22. Timmy- Read my words again, please! “Remember w/ 5 major candidates, 1 can’t buy the vote as easy as he/she may like.”
I assure you that The Laura Knaperek Campaign understands this.

Look @ John McCain beating Mitt Romney. Who had the most money? Was it close? I feel that McCain will beat Obama as well. Who has the most money?

    Thank You!

  23. Tim-Besides, you haven’t even put your money where your mouth is, but you are sitting there all high and mighty judging Laura and her campaign like you have some say in what is going on. I look at it like this The candidate you are backing is either getting your vote but not your money (if that is the case than you can’t link fundraising to votes, can you?) or you are still undecided. If it is the former, have a good night, end of discussion, you hypocrite. If its the latter, than I say save your money until the General Election. Laura will be able to use it than.

  24. Momma, I can’t decide if you’re rude or ignorant. Then again, its America, so why can’t you be both?

I’m not hiding behind a fake name calling folks out, just sharing an opinion that you don’t have to read, respond to, agree with, or anything. I’m not undecided and none of them are getting my vote. That’s because I don’t live in CD5, a possibility you didn’t even consider. But I have met all of the candidates and know them quite well.

Now, when it comes to putting money where my mouth is, my email address is tstenger1111@aol.com. Send me your real identity and let’s wager $1,000 on this contest. You are betting on your gal Laura, and I’m betting against her. Let’s see who puts their money where their mouth is.

I know the money is considerable, but then again, so is your mouth.

  25. Dang! Put up or shut up time… I love it!

Of course, there are too many posers on this site and Momma probably isn’t the dude’s real name, eh? So my guess is no put up and no shut up either.

I’m not sure who wins in CD5, but I’m sure its not Anderson or Knaperek. At the end of the day, people don’t vote for people they’ve never heard of before, and those two don’t have the base or the money to introduce themselves. That’s just Campaign 101.

  26. I dont gamble. Thanks for the invite, though. I will keep my hard earned dollars for my gas tank, food and the bills. Oh ya, and donating to the candidates I support.

And lets talk about rude, a quote from Tim S….

“I didn’t bag on Laura for giving herself $50k, she can do whatever she wants. I’m saying it doesn’t make sense, then you bagged on me for expressing my opinion. Don’t let it bother you, ’cause I’m not gonna stop! (Ann will vouch for me…)

She might have needed the $50k because her plan only works if you have one-tenth rather than one-fifteenth or something. But that’s really not likely.”

Tim, that sounded rude and rather sarcastic to me. I am sure you want the last word. I am done. It’s been fun. I hope the best candidate wins. And that folk,s may or may not be the one with the biggest loan made to him/herself.

  27. I’ve read it Momma, and re-read it again, but I can’t see what’s rude. He’s making a point and its not even slightly rude. Sounds like Momma might be a wee bit sensitive on behalf of her gal pal Laura.

  28. Just Win Baby says

Momma’s right Tim, save your money for the General because Laura WILL be able to use it then.

To repay herself for the $50,000 loan she made to prop up her losing campaign!

    Too funny folks, too funny.

  29. The funny thing in all this is that whoever wins the Republican Primary will likely have the support of almost everyone commenting here – well maybe not Kral – as the GOP winner moves into position to take on Mitchell. So remember not to burn any bridges too badly cause you’ll need to cross over one of them to help out in the General.

  30. You got that right!

  31. kralmajales says

    Hey DSW,

    You got that right!

I think it will be interesting to see if this is a brutal primary battle as you hint at. If indeed that this becomes a conservative/RINO debate, I think you will lose out to Mitchell for sure. If it stays positive and everyone comes together…you have chance…but only a small one…to retake the seat.

  32. JWB- U don’t happen to be a Cubs fan do you?
