Brewer v. Obama….

Today “wise” men from the east will make a visit to our lovely state.  With them, they will bring gifts of malarkey, double-speak, and duplicitous intentions.  You have to wonder what the east cost elitists with their full-blown cases of Potomac Fever must think of our homegrown Governor.  With her determined demeanor, boot-straps style and not a bit of entitlement to be found, she has a proven record of accomplishing what others cannot. Janice K. Brewer makes up in grit and integrity what she might lack in pretentious polish and I’ll take that any day!

The very real cost of our porous border affects Arizona unlike any other state.  It is right that Governor Brewer is taking on the challenge.  She is definitely up to it!

The Republic columnist, Laurie Roberts, who says she doesn’t necessarily like SB 1070 appreciates Governor Brewer advocating for the state and has this to say about the meeting:

Maybe Obama’s staffers will be bringing a pile of gold today when they meet with Brewer, to satisfy their debt. If not, was I governor I might be inclined to toss in one more gift for Obama’s staffers to deliver to the White House . . . a summons.

Not a bad idea!  They bring us their gifts, we give them ours.

  1. Oberserve says

    Oh, please.

Jan Brewer raises taxes on Arizonans by 1 BILLION per year and is pro-amnesty and you want us to believe she’s conservative?

    That’s dumb.

  2. It is odd that there has been this big spike in right wing idiocy coming out of Arizona though. Texas has a higher background level of crazy and right now Arizona is like a supernova taking the attention. I wonder how long it will last.

Actually it isn’t that strange. Arizona has been moving gradually towards the middle over the last twenty years. The population has doubled in that time and a big part of that spike wasn’t old retirees who tended to be conservative, but a lot of younger families moving from blue states, etc. In 2008 McCain only received 53.4% of the vote here in Arizona, his sixth lowest vote total among the states he won. Now think about that, his home state was one of his least supportive states. Had McCain been from Texas, Florida, etc., he likely would have lost Arizona.

This state has a long history of very conservative, often racist politics and the supporters of those policies aren’t happy that they are consistently losing ground to moderates and liberals (simply termed as liberals in their tirades). Because of how the state legislature is set up conservatives still have a major majority in both houses but, when Napolitano was governor, she vetoed a lot of their stupidity. In fact she set the record for vetoes in the history of the state. You take her away, bring in Brewer who is a wing-nut’s wing-nut, and you see incredibly stupid legislation that was shut down by a reasonable governor make it out of the state house. At the same time you see an increase in non-conservative population as well as an increase in non-white population and the far white err, right is freaking out.

  3. So what’s it called when an Apache Arizonan supports SB1070? A Navajo?

What is it called when Democrats ignore their concerns as law-abiding citizens and instead cater to foreigners who have no legal right to be here, who are taking jobs from Native People, undercutting them by accepting under the table lower wages and no legally required benefits.

Someone’s displaying blatent racial preferences all right, but it isn’t Conservatives or Republicans. ONE Party consistently employs the term, “racist” every time it starts losing an argument.

The Democratic Party, in its bitter clinging to slavery provoked the United States into civil war. They didn’t care what they did to the country then, so here we are 150 years later and it seems they STILL don’t care what damage they do.

HOw come APache and Navajo aren’t offered in Arizona schools for language studies, but Spanish is?
