Republicans up, Democrats down in state’s second fastest growing county

Phoenix, AZ – For the first time in history, Arizona Republicans have taken the lead over the Democrats in Pinal County voter enrollment.  “It’s a great day to be a Republican in Pinal County. I’m thrilled that the Republican ideals of lower taxes, strong families, better educational opportunities, and safer communities have taken hold in Arizona’s second fastest growing county,” said Randy Pullen chairman of the Arizona Republican Party. “We have the strongest ideas, we have the strongest organization, and we have the strongest message.  You can be sure that Pinal County will be changing from blue to red for a very long time.”

David West, chairman of the Pinal County Republican Party echoed Pullen’s sentiment,

“With these new and historic registration numbers, the voters of Pinal County now have real choices to represent them in local and state government.  These choices will bring them a better managed government with real solutions instead of empty promises.” West continued, “No longer will Pinal County have to be satisfied with the status quo. The Pinal County Republican Party looks forward to fielding superb candidates in 2008.

The new enrollment numbers for Pinal County are as follows:

Republican: 35,663
Democrat: 34,358
Other: 29,643

“In Pinal County and around the state, Republicans are energized to win at the local, state and federal level because we’re refocused on making our great state an even better place to call home and an even better place for our children and grandchildren.” concluded Pullen.
