Arizona Republican LD-30 Chairman Resigns – No Special Meeting

Apparently, a special meeting was scheduled for tonight – Monday, September 30, 2015 – in order to conduct a recall election of Gary Hirsch.

That meeting has been cancelled.

Here is a statement released by Maricopa County Republican Committee Executive Director, April Higgins:

The Scheduled “Special Meeting” per the MCRC By Laws, for this evening for LD 30 Precinct Committeemen has been CANCELLED. Chairman Gary Hirsch has officially resigned as Chairman of LD 30.

Even more telling about the machinations on LD-30 was a recent Facebook post by Lisa Gray on :

Precinct Committeemen following the saga in LD30…here’s a picture of the number of PCs that showed up for their LD meeting tonight [September 14, 2015]…even though roughly 98 PCs were recruited and appointed outside of the county bylaws (because some just don’t have to follow the rules). They recruited these 98 for ONE reason and ONE reason only and that is to recall the current Chairman that was elected fair and square. So what was on tonights agenda? PC Training. You’d think that more that 15 would show up out of all those newly appointed PCs with such a topic.

Let me say this…because you aren’t going to read this in the biased Briefs… Chairman Hirsch and the LD30 board have done a PHENOMENAL job getting that district up to basic standards that were long overlooked and overdue. It’s a darn shame that they’ve had to put up with the constant conflict and harassment by the former Chairman…all because he didn’t win reelection. I sure would like to see his fellow LD Chairmen rally behind Gary and support him…because what is going on in LD30 could happen to ANY LD Chairman and district.

It’s too bad when political egos and ambitions get in the way of moving political agendas [editor’s note].
