Anti-Marriage Supporters

While were in the neigborhood of endorsements, I thought you might want to see who is opposing Proposition 107 the initiative that will amend the Arizona Constitution to protect the definition of marriage as that between one man and one woman. This will ensure that some renegade judge will not be able to define marriage between a man and another man or a woman and another woman or a man and 5 women or a man and a dog or a man and a 15-year-old girl or a harem of girls, etc. Believe me, this is a slippery slope and even the dissenting justices on the Supreme Court in the Texas Sodomy case, Lawrence v. Texas, were right on when they said the other judges opened the door to whatever they want marriage to be.

Nevermind my poetic ramblings. Here is the list of supporters:

Of no surprise, you will find the usual suspects: Congressman Jim Kolbe, Grant Woods, Steve May, John Greene, etc.

But did you also see the house candidate in legislative district 11, Devin Slayton? This is the young man running for office in that district who has been the official candidate for the homosexuality community. In actuality, he has been featured in many publications within the homosexual community including the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund (link to Devin Slayton); PlanetOut; and The Advocate.

This should be no surprise as Mr. Slayton has made no excuses why he is running and carrying the banner against traditional family values. If you plan on voting for the gay agenda, than Slayton is your guy.

  1. The Arizona Republic reported her position incorrectly. They issued a correction.

In the August 1, 2006 Arizona Republic Dist. 8 profile, candidate Carolyn Schoenrock was asked:

Do you favor the definitions of marriage and limits on domestic partner benefits embodied in the Nov. 7 ballot measure Proposition 107?

Schoenrock responded: “I believe in one-man, one-woman marriage. (But) if it’s going to affect a lot of people, then we should probably keep it the way it is.”

Maybe I’m wrong, but I took that response to mean that she supports a one-man one-woman marriage. But she goes on to say…”(But) if it’s going to affect a lot of people, then we should probably keep it the way it is.”

I guess I took that response to mean that she supports current Arizona law that prohibits same sex marriage but she was concerned that the “domestic partnerships benefits embodied in the Nov 7 ballot measure was going to “affect a lot of people” consequently she would oppose changing the constitution. I know that is the reason I am opposed to the constitutional amendment.

I can see where the Republic Reporter was just as confused as to what she really supported and what she didn’t support.

But Shane, I am man enough to stand corrected…I should have known that any candidate recruited by Colette Rosatti wouldn’t be able to make themselves clear on the subject.

DSW – You forgot to add Disttrict Eight legislative candidate Carolyn Schoenrock to your list of candidates who are supporting the “GAY AGENDA” If I remember right I received a letter from the Executive Director of AZ Right to Life requesting a Five Dollar contribution for Carolyn Schoenrock.

Last week the Scottsdale Tribune had a chart of local candidates who oppose the marriage amendment. Schoenrock was on the list as were all of the Republican candidates in Distrcit Eight with the exception of John Kavanagh….so young Slayton isn’t alone.

I guess you could say DSW helped his favored candidate, Carolyn Schoenrock “carry the banner against traditional family values”
