Academic rigor vs. standards.

Back in August there was a very lively discussion in response to our coverage of the dispute between the Arizona Department of Education and charter schools regarding the sequence in which history is taught.

It looks like a settlement has been reached in the case. We are glad to hear that reason has prevailed and charter schools can now get back to pursuing excellence and Superintendent Horne can focus on what to do about the “failing” traditional public schools in the state that are following “the standards.” A win-win for all.
