Welcome to the Sonoran Alliance, one of Arizona’s premier and top rated conservative political blogs! We are an alliance of political writers and activists dedicated to reporting and promoting conservative news, ideas, opinion and principles throughout Arizona and the Sonoran Southwest.
Some of us are considered political insiders while others have been involved as activists for years. Several of us work in federal, state, county and city government while others have worked on high-profile political campaigns or for non-profit organizations. It is because of the key positions in which we serve, that it is in our best interest to write under pseudonyms. However, some of us are indeed ”out-of-the-closet” when voicing our political opinions.
Of course, we invite you to visit us regularly, read our postings and to feel free to leave your comments on postings you feel passionate and principled about.
Would you like to contribute to Sonoran Alliance? We are always looking for talented conservative researchers and writers. If you believe you have something to contribute, please send us an email at sonoranalliance@gmail.com
You can also send us tips on news items to sonoranalliance@gmail.com.
OUR WRITERS
“Dionysus” Shane “Rogue” Wikfors, a.k.a. “DSW,” has been a conservative activist ever since the decade of Ronald Reagan. A native Tucsonan, Shane joined the Navy after graduating from Canyon Del Oro High School in 1982. After serving aboard the USS Enterprise as a Navy “Nuke,” Shane returned home and enrolled at the University of Arizona where he pursued a Bachelors of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Economics, Political Science and History). The same year he graduated (1994), he made a bid for the State House as the sole Republican in a district controlled by Democrats and liberal Republicans (Pima County). He narrowly lost. Two years later, he joined with another Republican for one of the same House seats. Unfortunately, they both lost as Democrats dominated elections with Bill Clinton at the top of the ticket. In 1998, Shane began the Masters of Business Administration at the University of Phoenix. He graduated in 2000 with his MBA. That same year, he and his family relocated to Mesa so he could take on the role of Executive Director of Arizona Right to Life. He served there until 2006. Currently, Shane owns and operates Red Mountain Consulting and Development Arizona’s premier conservative political consulting firm which provides services to political candidates and non-profit organizations. In his other spare time, he serves on several organizational boards. Shane began Sonoran Alliance in 2005 in order to promote the conservative messages, values and principles as an alternative to the liberal media. Since then, Sonoran Alliance has grown to become one of the most read political blogs in the State of Arizona. You can email Shane at sonoranalliance@gmail.com.

Veritas Vincit - VV are my initials. And aside from the Bible which is my daily bread, there are a couple of values I hold dear…
“Privacy is a major element of freedom, without which people and nations cannot exist.”
“If we don’t believe in freedom of expression for people we despise, we don’t believe in it at all.”
“Armed we are citizens, unarmed we are subjects.”
About me? I’ve traveled around the sun for more than half a century. When I was born, there were 4 billion less human beings on the planet. Imagine that, 7 out of every 10 people (or cars if you like) didn’t exist. Do you have any idea what the beaches or highways were like then? I remember when America was free and you didn’t have to wear your crash helmet to ride your bike!
I was born on an island off the West Coast of North America south of the 40th latitude and John Foster Dulles had Hillary Clinton’s job. Some years later I graduated high school, again on an island, only this time a little further west and again south of the 40th latitude. I hold a graduate degree and am a life member of that smarty-pants club which I generally don’t care much for – but having the membership card is pretty cool I suppose.
I’ve logged thousands of miles on the Pacific Ocean by boat as well as ship, and have never lost my sense of the Almighty when I look out over endless horizions where the sea meets the sky. Since then I’ve discovered that the desert is pretty much like the ocean, without the water of course. But seriously, when you think about them, there’s not a whole lot of difference. These days, I can’t get enough of the Arizona sunsets framed by my dining room window. This is truly a state which God has blessed.
Someone wise once told me, you don’t find the desert … it finds you. And somehow, it all has to do with freedom.
