Pinal County GOP Leaders Endorse Robert Graham for AZGOP Chairman

PHOENIX – Robert Graham today announced he has received the endorsement of Irene Littleton, a former State Senate candidate who was recently elected Chairman of the Pinal County Republican Committee. Pinal County’s District 4 GOP Chairman Vince Manfredi and newly-elected Constable John Acton also endorsed Graham. Graham is running for a second term as Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party and is actively campaigning in an election to be held at the biennial meeting of the State Committee on January 24, 2015 at the Grace Community Church in Tempe.

“I worked with Robert when I was a candidate for State Senate from LD8. Robert was always there for me. His office provided flyers as well as phone calls for me. Any time I needed his advise, he was there. I got to know Robert during my campaign and believe Robert has the best interest of the Republican Party in Arizona in mind at all times. I endorse Robert for Chairman of the AZGOP and, as Chairman of the Pinal County Republican Committee, I look forward to working with him and his staff for the 2016 elections,” said Chairman Irene Littleton of the Pinal County Republican Committee.

Vince Manfredi, Chairman of the Legislative District 4 Republican Committee in Pinal County, said, “Robert has done an excellent job as chairman. And I look forward to the next two years we take back the White House. Without his help here in Pinal County there’s no way we make the impact we did.”

John Acton, the newly-elected Constable for Pinal County’s District 7, said, “Thank you, Robert, for your help and guidance with my campaign, you have my full endorsement.”

Pinal County is Arizona’s third largest county by population and is home to more than 50,000 Republican voters.

*UPDATED* – A TIME FOR CHOOSING! Will AZ Republicans Side With Boehner or The People?

**[UPDATE: Earlier this evening Rep Paul Gosar came out with the following statement declaring he will vote AGAINST Boehner on Tuesday:

“Trust is a series of promises kept; my vote for new leadership reflects a promise I made to voters when they elected me,” Gosar said. “I cannot stand beside the same leadership that has offered up bills too large to read, used parliamentary tricks to bring bills to the floor and has refused to take swift action against the president and his administration’s unconstitutional actions.”]

In an exclusive interview on Fox News this morning, Texas Republican Louis Gohmert announced that he is joining Florida Republican Ted Yoho in challenging John Boehner for the Speakership.

Both candidates echo the sentiment of the grassroots that Speaker Boehner has nothing but a track record of failed leadership and missed opportunities since taking the gavel in 2011.  His unwillingness to use the power of the purse to reign in Obama in addition to his broken promises that he gave in 2012 to use of ‘Regular Order’ and the Hastert Rule are primary reasons that leave him vulnerable to a challenge.

It is being reported that GOP establishment staffers have been instructed to lie to their constituents telling them that a vote for someone other than Boehner means that Nancy Pelosi can be elected Speaker.   This is simply untrue and shows the establishment’s contempt for the American voter.  In order to win the gavel, a candidate must receive a majority of all the votes cast.  If Boehner does not win on the 1st ballot, then there will be a second ballot, and a third ballot until one Republican gets to the 50%+1 mark.

Where do Arizona’s Republican Congressmen stand on Boehner?  At the time of this post, not a single Arizona Republican congressman has publicly stated if they will support or oppose Boehner for his 3rd term.

Since the rise of the Tea Party in 2009, AZ Tea Partiers have heard Rep Schweikert, Rep Franks, Rep Gosar, and Rep Salmon tout their Conservative ‘street-cred’ in word and activists see this week is the time for action.  Many view this vote on House leadership as the only way they will see real measurable change in DC over the next 2 years.

Will the Arizona Republican Delegation join Rep. Thomas Massie and Oklahoma Republican Jim Bridenstine and side with the Conservative base?  Or will they side with the ineffective, inept, and complicit GOP leadership? Arizona voters will find out Tuesday when Congress votes — until then,  give them a call or a tweet and make your voice heard.

Note: the primary Hashtag on Twitter is #FireBoehner

(We did not include Martha McSally in the contact list above.  This is largely due to TeamBoehner and the Chamber of Crony-Capitalism placing a vast amount of financial resources behind her campaign.  With that being the case, we believe she will side with the GOP establishment over the grassroots)
