Martha McSally Raises $358K in Opening Quarter
Tucson- Ret. U.S. Air Force Colonel Martha McSally today announced that she raised $358,231 for the quarter that ended on September 30th, while she was still exploring a run for Congress in Arizona’s Second Congressional District. McSally officially announced on October 1st that she will be running in 2014.
“People say to me all the time that Washington is a mess, and one person cannot make a difference,” said McSally. “I believe that together, we can make a difference. We can change Washington by changing the people we send there. I am humbled by the genuine enthusiasm and encouragement from Arizonans to step up and serve again. I am so proud to have the strong backing of so many community members and Arizonans who want to make change happen now.”
An overwhelming amount of McSally’s donations were from Arizonans, showing extraordinary community support. McSally reported Cash on Hand of $388,197.29 Arizona’s Second Congressional District is expected to be one of the most competitive races in 2014. In 2012, McSally lost by less than 1% to incumbent Congressman Ron Barber.
