ACT NOW to stop the Prop 204 Tax Hike

AFP Arizona

URGENT Action Items Below

Dear Arizona Taxpayer,

AFP-Arizona Needs YOU to help us defeat Proposition 204!

While current polling shows that Arizona voters are prepared to reject the Prop 204 tax hike on Tuesday, we must keep the heat turned up in the last days before the election.

The facts on Proposition 204 are simple:  It makes the temporary sales tax increase PERMANENT, which would cost Arizona taxpayers an additional $1 billion per year and potentially cost the state 15,000 jobs.  Arizona families are already hurting in a bad economy, and this is worst time to raise taxes and harm economic growth. Prop 204 also provides an already bloated education bureaucracy – Arizona’s total education spending has increased over 60% in the last decade, even as a smaller percentage of funds has gone to the classroom – with even more money, while failing to provide real reform to Arizona’s education system.

PLEASE TAKE ACTION!

AFP-Arizona is asking you to do the following:[1]

• Take whatever NO on 204 yard signs you may have to your nearest polling location on Monday night (Nov 5).

• Take any extra NO on 204 yard signs you may have to key polling locations (use the email below to ask Bill where your closest key locations are).

• Hand out anti-204 literature at your nearest polling place on Tuesday (use the email below to ask Bill for a printable version of AFP-AZ’s anti-204 talking points).

•  Per Arizona law, no materials (yard signs, literature, etc.) may be distributed or placed within 75 feet of polling locations.

Please contact Bill Fathauer AS SOON AS POSSIBLE at 480-332-0477 orbfathauer@afphq.org to volunteer for these actions.  (If you contact Bill today, or over the weekend, you will help us reduce our workload on Monday and Tuesday.)  Even if you can only volunteer for an hour or two, your help will be vital in stopping a massive tax hike that will damage the Arizona economy.

Thank you and keep up the good fight!

For Liberty, Tom

David “Tax Man” Bradley

David “Tax Man” Bradley is running for State Senate in LD10 against State Senator Frank Antenori.

Bradley’s Voting Record

David “Tax Man” Bradley was an Arizona Legislator for eight years so he has an eight year voting history but he never talks about his voting record. His votes in the Arizona Legislature show a reckless and dangerous record of raising your taxes, spending the state into debt, squandering the rainy day account, and destroying jobs.

David Bradley sponsors raising taxes on Gas, Beer, Wine, Property Taxes  and YOUR HAIRCUT!!

Sponsored Bills in 2010:

  • HB 2757 – Increases taxes on gasoline.
  • HB 2758 – Impose new taxes on all services.
  • HB 2759 – Imposes a tax on soda.
  • HB2107 – temporary soft drink tax
  • HB2447 – Liquor tax

Bradley’s Quote on SPENDING

In an interview with Andrea Kelly from the Arizona Public Media, “Bradley said he thinks it is incorrect to say he didn’t want to balance the state budget. He said he wanted what he called comprehensive tax reform — adjusting sales, income and property taxes — instead of across-the-board spending cuts,”

Bradley is rated, “Hero of Big Government” by Americans for Prosperity.

Bradley’s Votes on EDUCATION

Bradley supports Unions – not teachers, not students, and definitely not quality education.

Bradley received a D- for Education from the Goldwater Institute.

NFIB: No Spike in Hiring for Small Business

WASHINGTON, D.C., November 1, 2012 — Chief economist for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) William C. Dunkelberg, issued the following statement on the October job numbers, based on NFIB’s monthly economic survey that will be released on Tuesday, November 13, 2012. The survey was conducted in October and reflects the responses of 2,029 sampled NFIB members:

“Anyone expecting big economic news on the Friday before the election will be sorely disappointed. October, not unlike the last several months, proved to be another weak job creation month. Pessimistic uncertainty within the small-business community continues to dampen hiring plans. According to the October survey, owners stopped releasing workers; the average change in employment per firm rose to just 0.02 workers—essentially zero. While this development ends a four-month run of employment reductions (September’s number was a seasonally adjusted -0.23), it is no reason to get excited. Employment is still 4 million lower than it was in 2008 (first quarter).

“Last’s month’s surprising Household Survey will likely ‘right itself’ after its shocking 893,000 net new jobs (most part-time), a reading that is historically inconsistent with our current anemic two percent GDP growth. The unemployment rate will likely rise a tenth of a point or two, and only about 110,000 new jobs will show up in the Payroll Survey.

“Seasonally adjusted, 11 percent of the owners reported adding an average of 2.7 workers per firm over the past few months, and 10 percent reduced employment an average of 2.9 workers. The remaining 79 percent of owners made no net change in employment. Forty-eight (48) percent of the owners hired or tried to hire in the last three months and 38 percent (79 percent of those trying to hire or hiring) reported few or no qualified applicants for open positions.

“The percent of owners reporting hard to fill job openings fell one point to 16 percent of all owners, the second monthly decline in a row. This is not good news for the unemployment rate as it has a strong negative correlation with this series.  Twelve (12) percent have openings for skilled workers, two percent for unskilled and three percent for both.

“Job creation plans remained weak, with a net four percent planning to increase employment, unchanged from September and 6 points below the August reading. Not seasonally adjusted, 10 percent plan to increase employment at their firm (unchanged), but 12 percent plan reductions (up 1 point). Not seasonally adjusted, hiring plans were strong only in the East South Central states.

“Overall, October job creation news is not the surprise that some may have been looking for.”

Democrat Kyrsten Sinema trashes all of Arizona, not just ASU students, to impress out-of-state liberals [ @KyrstenSinema ]

While the Sinema campaign is in heavy spin mode following release of a video showing Sinema mocking the intellectual capabilities of ASU students – the last thing ASU graduates need employers hearing in the weak Obama Economy – a closer look at her past statements demonstrates that she has a record of criticizing all Arizonans when speaking to out-of-state liberals.

Yes, she regularly trashes the state to score points with fellow liberals, up until she reinvented herself as a moderate after this year’s Democrat Primary.

Take her 2009 book for left-wing community organizers, Unite and Conquer. The book, her how-to for liberal activists, included this blue meat for her political allies:

“Arizona is usually near the top of the list in stuff like teen birth rate and high school dropout rate and auto theft rate, but never are we first in something good….” (p. 61)

Attacks like this helped her become a frequent guest on MSDNC, but undercut her “moderate” post-Primary makeover. Nor was this a one-time gaffe. The next year, she told the liberal Washington DC newspaper Politico:

Arizona has “become the laughing stock of the nation.”

She added:

“The vast majority of Arizona is not native born and we have this very large metropolis in Phoenix of people who are from someplace else. Most people don’t feel rooted in the community.”

Don’t you just love her liberal condescension? People who chose to move to Arizona from across the country aren’t “rooted” in the state.

She also did an interview at the left-wing Netroots Nation 2010 where she warned out-of-state liberals not to be like Arizonans:

“Be careful: because if you’re laying down on the job, then your state could turn into Arizona pretty quickly.”

These attacks on the great state of Arizona may explain why she is so hot to get to Washington, DC, where she no doubt believes people are more sophisticated and more like her.

Sinema certainly loves the DC Beltway. As a State Legislator, she actually introduced a bill pushing for the DC Beltway to get a vote in Congress!

That just seems weird until you learn that it is a cause celebre in fringe-Left circles.

You see, until she won her primary this year, she had been an extreme liberal for decades. She even worked for Ralph Nader in 2000 against Al Gore because she believed Gore was too moderate. (I’m not joking – read the link.)

She has trashed Arizona, ASU students, and even Al Gore for not being extreme enough for her tastes.

But YOU get the last laugh on November 6, when you vote for Vernon Parker and force Sinema to face her worst nightmare: staying in Arizona without the ability to damage it from afar with her liberal policies.

Ann Kirkpatrick: A reckless and irresponsible record that cannot be repeated

Jonathan Paton

Kirkpatrick broke the public’s trust, bankrupted our country

Jonathan Paton warned Thursday that Ann Kirkpatrick’s record in Congress was reckless and irresponsible, and said that if she’s elected again, Kirkpatrick will continue to add to our deficit and destroy American jobs.

One of Kirkpatrick’s first votes as a member of Congress was for Nancy Pelosi’s budget, which would have added $1.2 trillion to our national debt. The budget was called “the most fiscally irresponsible budget in the history of the federal government.” (The Union Leader, April 5, 2009)

That’s in addition to her voting for the failed stimulus and ObamaCare – two massive spending packages the country cannot afford.

And who can forget how Kirkpatrick wasted more than $100,000 on bonuses for her staff and campaign aides after she lost her election.

“Ann Kirkpatrick was reckless and irresponsible with taxpayer dollars, voting for policies and spending packages that further bankrupted our country. As if that wasn’t enough, Kirkpatrick went on a personal spending binge after losing her race, burning through more than $100,000 to reward her staff and political aides,” Paton said. “Ann Kirkpatrick has broken the public trust. She simply cannot be trusted ever again.”

County Attorney Bill Montgomery Calls On Kyrsten Sinema to Release Client List

“Kyrsten Protects Criminals, Vernon Protects Families”

Phoenix, AZ – Maricopa County‘s top law enforcement officer, County Attorney Bill Montgomery, is demanding that Democratic Congressional candidate Kyrsten Sinema support her claim to having been a criminal defense attorney and reveal which cases she worked on.  Over the course of her career, Sinema has claimed to have worked for murderers and other violent criminals but refuses to say which ones.

In a 2006 interview, Kyrsten Sinema boasted about her work as a “criminal defense attorney who represents murderers.”    Shawn Macomber, “The Marginalized Mainstream,” The American Spectator, June 14, 2006.

Montgomery is joining Vernon Parker and the entire Arizona Republican Party in demanding Sinema release her client list to support her claims and reveal just who she stands with.

“Democrat Kyrsten Sinema claims to have made a career out of protecting criminals.  She shouldn’t hide who she has defended now just because she is running for office.  Arizona families deserve to know the whole truth so why is Sinema keeping who she claims to have defended a secret.  Vernon Parker has the support of national victims rights groups because he is committed to protecting law-abiding citizens.  I look forward to working with him when he gets to Congress,” said Bill Montgomery, Maricopa County Attorney.

*On Wednesday, the National Organization of Victims of Juvenile Lifers spoke out against Kyrsten Sinema’s “extreme and alarming record on victim’s rights” and gave their support to Vernon Parker.
