Antenori Radio Ad

Senator Frank Antenori has been serving Arizona in the State Legislature with the same distinction he served you in the U.S. Army Green Berets.

Now David “Tax Man” Bradley wants you to fire Antenori and put him back in the Az Senate.

You remember Bradley, he is the guy who wants to raise property taxes and sales taxes for folks on fixed incomes, the gas tax, the soda tax, the beer tax, the wine tax, and even a tax on hair cuts.  You name it, Bradley wants to tax it.  He’s the guy who voted to spend $3,000,000,000.00 we didn’t have nearly bankrupting the state.

Bradley says Frank is angry!?.   Well, when you see the mess Bradley and his cronies have made and the damage that they’ve done to our economy you should be angry.

It’s people like David Bradley who created and sustained this mess.   It’s folks like you who elect the Frank Antenori’s of the world to clean it up.

Now “Tax Man” Bradley is mailing literature with a picture of himself with Barry Goldwater Jr.  The Goldwater Institute gave Bradley a grade of F and he was one of the  “The 10 Lowest Scoring Legislators in 2010″.

Don’t let David Bradley and his cronies distract you, it’s about jobs not personalities.

NRSC Launches Volume 3 Of The Carmona Files: Richard Carmona’s Resume

Includes Bullying Colleagues, Being Fired And Suing His Former Employer

WASHINGTON – Throughout the past year, Richard Carmona has constantly misled voters about his so-called impeccable resume, but today the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) released the third volume of the “Carmona Files,” which reveals that throughout his career Carmona has consistently bullied his colleagues, has been fired from his job and has tried to sue his former employer.

While it’s been well documented that Carmona does not work well with others and that he makes insensitive jokes towards women, it’s been forgotten that Carmona has consistently been removed from various jobs.

Carmona has been dismissed from the Tucson Medical Center, forced to resign from the Pima County Health System and was never re-nominated to be Surgeon General. And when he leaves, he has sued these healthcare facilities, which diverts millions of dollars that could otherwise be used on patient care.

“Richard Carmona loves to brag about his resume, but what he doesn’t tell you is that on numerous occasions he has bullied his colleagues, been fired for his actions and then proceeds to sue his former employer,” National Republican Senatorial Committee Executive Director Rob Jesmer said today. “This is a critical election for our country, and Arizonans deserve to know who the real Richard Carmona is.”

The Carmona Files is an ongoing conversation and series informing voters about Richard Carmona the Democrat nominee for the U.S. Senate in Arizona. Please visit – carmonafiles.com – to view “Women in the Workplace,” and “Medical Malpractice.”

Day 14 of Kyrsten Sinema’s Refusal to Release List of Murderers She Defended

Arizona Republican Party

Sinema Not Yet Responding to Letter of Inquiry into Her List of Clients

PHOENIX – With just two weeks until election day, Kirsten Sinema’s campaign is still refusing to release the list of murderers she claimed to defend.

Kyrsten Sinema, running for Congress in Arizona’s Ninth District, once proudly boasted about her work as a “criminal defense attorney who represents murderers.” (Shawn Macomber, “The Marginalized Mainstream,” The American Spectator, June 14, 2006)

Today marks Day 14 of her receipt of a hand-delivered letter from Arizona Republican Party Chairman Tom Morrissey asking her to release her client list, including the murderers she claimed to represent. No response has been received.

“If you run for Congress, you shouldn’t be running from your past.” said Tom Morrissey, Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party which is headquartered in Arizona’s Ninth Congressional District. “Sinema is trying to erase her past and pretend she’s someone else, and we think voters simply want to know more about the deeds she’s done than she’s willing to reveal.”

Below is the letter Morrissey sent to Ms. Sinema asking her to stop hiding her client list.

October 9, 2012

Ms. Kyrsten Sinema
123 E Baseline Rd. D-202
Tempe, AZ 85283

Dear Kyrsten:

As the former Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal for Arizona, I strongly believe it is important for the people of Arizona and this Congressional district to know whom you stand with.

In a 2006 interview with American Spectator magazine, and while a member of the Arizona Legislature, you proudly boasted that you were a “criminal defense attorney who represents murderers.”

Your voting record is also troubling.

In 2009, you were one of five state representatives to vote against a bill (SB 1253) that adds drive by shooting to the list of specified felonies that are subject to the felony murder classification. This measure was passed in bipartisan fashion 50-5.

In 2007, you were the Prime Sponsor of HB 2278, a bill to end the death penalty for murderers and rapists. Luckily your bill wasn’t passed.

In light of your pronouncements of support for murderers I ask you to immediately release your entire client list of any murderers you have represented or currently represent.

Most sincerely,

/s/

Tom Morrissey

Jim Sharpe exposes disciplinary judge who disbarred Andrew Thomas

Jim Sharpe radio show interviews former friend of Judge O’Neil

Politically motivated disciplinary judge has lengthy questionable ethical history, should be removed from bench

In a special show about rooting out judicial corruption, the Jim Sharpe radio show interviewed Mark Dixon, a former friend of Bar Disciplinary Judge William O’Neil. O’Neil was specifically selected to preside over bar complaints against Andrew Thomas and disbar him. Dixon has been looking into some of the crooked activities of this judge, ever since O’Neil got involved with shady activities involving Dixon’s ex-wife, ruining Dixon’s life. O’Neil ghostwrote pleadings for Dixon, which is a violation of judicial canons, and ghostwrote a complaint against another judge for Dixon.

Dixon discovered that O’Neil arranged for a short sale of his mother-in-law’s home to his business partner. Meanwhile, his mother-in-law continued to live in the home and still does to this day.  O’Neil bought the home back and became 50% co-owner with his mother-in-law. At the same time, he took out a hefty loan from the credit union where Dixon’s ex-wife worked. All the liens on the home were forgiven. How many of us regular people get to save our homes like that? Complaints have been filed with the Arizona real estate commission and the FHSA, which has assigned it a case number.

Dixon used to take junk to a dump his mother-in-law had on the property. She charged members of the public money to dump garbage there. Turned out it was an illegally operated dump, and taxpayers ended up footing the bill to clean it up!

O’Neil has been presiding over disciplinary hearings of lawyers in Arizona. He sits on a panel composed of another attorney and a member of the public. But the rest of these panels are not independent and unbiased! Robert Gallo has sat on a hearing panel with O’Neil, and is listed as a public member from Maricopa County. But he is not from Maricopa County, he is O’Neil’s NEIGHBOR in Pinal County! He is a friend of O’Neil, not an unbiased member of the public. All of the attorneys who have been the victim of O’Neil’s power trips against attorneys should have retrials with a different judge and an unbiased panel.

When Dixon tried to seek recourse through the legal system, he was told privately by prominent attorneys that he would never get a fair trial in the courts as long as O’Neil was around. The only way he would ever get justice would be to publicly expose O’Neil. So far Dixon has not had much success. One of the local TV stations looked into his story, but backed off, obviously scared of taking on the powerful judiciary. The station told Jim Sharpe they were going to have to consult with their attorneys, and warned Sharpe that he better too!

Dixon contacted the organization Arizona Attorneys Against Corrupt Professional Regulation, and they told him this was typical corruption by the regulatory disciplinary agency in power.

At the end of the show, Dixon asks why Carmen Chenal’s license to practice law was reinstated, while virtually every other attorney who has been disciplined by O’Neil has not been able to get their license reinstated. After having her license to practice law suspended for multiple ethical violations in 2005, O’Neil reinstated her, and she was given a high-level position at the Attorney General’s Office by Tom Horne making $108,000. She is allegedly a mistress of Tom Horne. Tom Horne had a hit and run accident outside of her apartment. Was there a quid pro quo going on with Horne that we don’t know about?

American Post-Gazette wants to know: When is this corrupt judge going to be removed from office?

Prop 204 campaign hiding behind the children

By Graydon Holt

The most offensive thing about Proposition 204 is the cynical ploy to hide behind young children to feather the nest of special interests. Never underestimate the gall of people who want to get their hands on the taxpayers’ money.

The know-it-alls who came up with Proposition 204 are pulling the oldest trick in the book. Trick the voters. Spin a myth that cruel legislators are shortchanging schools, devise a scheme to grab a cool $1 billion a year that the state legislature can’t touch, spread the money around to your friends in the education bureaucracy, and then pretend that all the money will help students and teachers.

Truth be told, the Proposition 204 proponents are control freaks. They don’t like the idea that elected representatives in the legislature spend our sales tax money. Talk about standing our democratic system on its head. What they really don’t like are the legislators the people select.

They should run their own candidates if they don’t like the ones currently in office. That’s how the system works. Get in the game.

Most of all, stop running ads filled with students and scenes of schools. You are using the children. You really want to control the money and decide who gets it – your cronies and pet projects.

Voters are too smart to fall for this scheme. They will reject Proposition 204 on November 6.

Democrat Richard Carmona attack on women only latest in telling remarks by Arizona liberals [ @Carmonaforaz ]

Liberal Democrat Richard Carmona’s attack on a professional woman–calling 30-year journalist Candy Crowley of CNN ugly during a live debate–is only the latest in a string of incidents over the years in which liberal Democrats in Arizona have self-destructed when caught off-guard expressing their true beliefs. A Dr. Phil-type might suggest that the constant stress of pretending to be moderate when you are not might be what makes these politicians eventually snap, but putting pop psychology aside, let’s review some other examples, going back in time from Carmona’s slur against women.

Most recently prior to that, we had liberal criminal defense lawyer and Democrat District 9 Congressional candidate Kyrsten Sinema, also attacking women, in this case moms who have the audacity to work from home to raise their families. Sinema’s attack on moms is Hall of Fame outrageous:

“These women who act like staying at home, leeching off their husbands or boyfriends, and just cashing the checks is some sort of feminism because they’re choosing to live that life. That’s bulls—. I mean, what the f— are we really talking about here?”

[In fairness, Sinema has made other outrageous comments and proposed truly outrageous legislation, but we're just sticking to one comment per candidate in this post.]

Prior to that, it was Phoenix lawyer and Democrat Steve Owens, running against JD Hayworth, who denigrated Arizona and his own Congressional District (at least the one he chose to run in) as…

“a little, rinky-dink congressional district in the state of Arizona.”

Ouch, Steve! Sorry we’re not ‘cool’ like Berkeley or Hyde Park. Arizonans rejected him that November.

And finally there was liberal Democrat Congressman Sam Coppersmith, running against now-Senator Jon Kyl in their 1994 Senate race. Coppersmith was caught on tape denigrating Arizona’s 4 C’s–cattle, citrus, copper and climate–which he deemed somehow beneath Arizona as a state. [I could not find that quote on Google because that race occurred, yes children, BEFORE there was a Google; it was even before a company called Netscape had its IPO! But trust me, he said it; I had my first political job as Research Director for Kyl's campaign that year and I will never forget that insight into Coppersmith's views of Arizona.]

Kyl dispatched Coppersmith easily that November.

So there you have it, a brief walk down memory lane. Four liberal Democrats pretending to be moderates. They keep their game face on as long as possible, but eventually, the mask slips, and Arizona voters see the real deal. Don’t worry, Dr. Carmona, you will have plenty of company with Sinema, Owens and Coppersmith in the private sector, and the Romney-Flake-Vernon Parker economy will enable all of you to get good jobs that are so lacking right now under Obamanomics.

Downtown Mesa to be future home of Goldwater Library and Archives

The City of Mesa and the Barry and Peggy Goldwater Library and Archives (BPGLA) are pleased to announce the BPGLA will be located in downtown Mesa. The Library will be built on the southeast corner of Macdonald and First Avenue.

“It is quite an honor for my family to see the Barry and Peggy Goldwater Library and Archives locate in downtown Mesa and become a step closer to reality,” Michael Goldwater said. “Not only will it preserve and tell the story of my father’s life and career, but it honors his commitment to ‘collect, preserve and disseminate’ the history of Arizona and the United States.”

The BPGLA will house a remarkable collection of manuscripts, photographs and rare books owned by the Senator. The Library will also preserve other notable 20th century political and public policy collections including the papers from of the Arizona Congressional Delegation dating back to statehood. The BPGLA will be recognized as a Center for the Study of Congress, raising the profile of one of the premiere Congressional collections in the U.S. In addition to its own materials, the BPGLA will exhibit collections on loan from both Presidential Libraries and other Centers for the Study of Congress.

“Having the Goldwater Library and Archives in our downtown is a tremendous honor for Mesa,” Mayor Scott Smith said. “The combination of the Library, the new colleges and universities along with the light rail extension will create incredible opportunities for both Mesa and Arizona.”

The BPGLA will be housed in a three-story, 40-thousand square foot LEED certified building. LEED is the United States Green Building Council Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design registration. The building will include an exhibition area, reading room, café and automatic archival retrieval system.

“This building will house Arizona’s history as seen through the eyes of Senator Goldwater and others who represented our great state in Washington, D.C.,” District 4 Councilmember and BPGLA Board Member Chris Glover said. “I could not be more proud that this great facility will call downtown Mesa home.”

The Library will be built on City land subject to the City and BPGLA reaching an agreement on the terms. The design, construction and maintenance of the BPGLA will be privately funded. Fundraising is just beginning for construction and the establishment of an endowment fund. The goal is to open the BPGLA in 2016. It is expected to attract an estimated 57,000 visitors per year.

What YOU can do to stop the Prop 204 tax hike!

AFP Arizona

New poll shows the Prop 204 tax hike is losing!

AFP-Arizona activists can help defeat it!

Dear Arizona Taxpayer,

With barely two weeks left until Election Day, we must keep running until we cross the finish line.

Using Arizona’s children as a shield for their special-interest boondoggles, proponents of Proposition 204 want to take a billion dollars a year from Arizona families – at a time when many families are still struggling and breadwinners are out of work.

Prop 204 boosters have told voters that the tax is necessary to aid an underfunded education system, even though overall education spending in Arizona has increased over 60 percent during the past decade.

According to a new report by the Goldwater Institute, per-pupil spending in Arizona has increased by 9 percent in real terms over the past decade — even after recent budget cuts!  And the Arizona education system now puts a smaller proportion of available funds into the classroom than it did before the massive Prop 301 education tax was passed in 2000.

The good news is that the spending lobby’s tactics may be failing.  recent poll suggests that a majority of Arizonans now understands that a massive tax increase is not the right move for our state’s fragile economy. Throwing more money at the education bureaucracy isn’t the right path forward for our education system.  Our children and our classroom teachers need real reform.

What can YOU do to make sure that Prop 204 is defeated?

Here are some of the many ways you can get involved:

·        You can host a NO on Prop 204 speaker at your civic group.

·        You can drop off literature at the homes of voters in your precinct.

·        You can place a NO on Prop 204 yard sign on your front lawn

·       You can distribute NO on Prop 204 signs to your neighbors.

·        You can do what I did, and use glass paint to write “NO on Prop 204! Tax hikes will not fix our schools!” on the back window of your car…

AFP-Arizona hopes you will continue to stand with us in the fight to defeat Proposition 204! To get more involved in this effort, please contact Bill Fathauer at 480-332-0477 or bfathauer@afphq.org and learn more at www.votenoon204.com.

Congressman Ben Quayle Opposes Proposition 204

Warns Taxpayers of the Negative Impact a Permanent Sales Tax Increase Will Have on Arizona’s Economic Development

PHOENIX —Today, Arizona Congressman Ben Quayle joined State Treasurer Doug Ducey in opposition to Proposition 204. The unintended consequences of Prop 204 has the list of community and business leaders rallying against the largest permanent sales tax increase in Arizona’s history growing by the day.

“This tax increase will not only hurt all hard working Arizonans, it will also make Arizona a less attractive place to do business,” said Congressman Quayle. “We have the ability to stop a permanent sales tax increase that will force current and future generations to pay a $1 billion annual tax. Voting ‘NO’ on Proposition 204 will stop this special interest tax increase that has no accountability and offers no real reform for our education system.”

Congressman Quayle has spent his tenure in Washington fighting for smart tax policies that reward, rather than punish, Americans. Prop 204’s permanent tax increase on Arizona families sends the message that not only that Arizona is closed for business, but also that the state does not care about the families that continue to struggle during this economic recovery.

“Congressman Quayle has fought tirelessly against policies that burden families,” said Doug Ducey, Chairman of the No New Taxes, No on 204 committee. “Raising sales taxes 18 percent on every purchase will not help families, not attract new business to our state, and not help promote existing business growth throughout Arizona.”

Proposition 204 Could Cost Arizona’s Private Sector 15,000 New Jobs

By Stephen Slivinski, Goldwater Institute

The supporters of making the temporary 1-cent sales tax increase permanent – which is what the passage of Proposition 204 would do – claim that what they are proposing isn’t a tax hike, it’s simply an extension of an existing tax.

The permanency of Proposition 204 would only be so innocuous if you assumed that nobody changed their behavior on the expectation that the tax would go down. But businesses have to make decisions today based on assumptions about the future. If they believed that the sales tax rate would go down in 2013, as current law states, we can assume they would have made long-term business plans and hiring decisions based on that.

Economic models make predictions about future growth based on these sorts of assumptions, too. Ample empirical evidence already supports the conclusion that rising tax burdens can shrink employment growth. As such, an unexpected tax increase – which is the best way to describe Proposition 204’s halting of an expected tax cut – should be expected to dampen job growth.

The State Tax Analysis Modeling Program developed for the Goldwater Institute by economists at the Beacon Hill Institute based at Suffolk University in Massachusetts, integrates just those sorts of assumptions. The model is based on historical data on how tax burdens have changed economic patterns in Arizona. When you take into account the unexpected $1 billion tax load that would exist as a result of Proposition 204, you discover that overall private employment growth could be lower by at least 15,000 jobs each year than it otherwise would be as a result of the higher and newly-permanent sales tax rate.

There will be job growth as a result of Prop 204, but likely only at the construction firms that receive government contracts as a result of the tax hike and the education bureaucracy. The state would be better off with 15,000 jobs created across all parts of the economy than more jobs created that are dependent on the growth of government.

Stephen Slivinski is a senior economist with the Goldwater Institute.
