NFIB says Congressman has done big things for small business
and that its members need him to bring reforms to the Senate
PHOENIX, ARIZ., October 16, 2012 – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) today announced its support for Congressman Jeff Flake (R-6) in his race for the United States Senate.
“Jeff Flake is one of the steadiest defenders of small business and free enterprise in Congress and he understands very keenly the need for fiscal reform, tax reform and regulatory reform,” said Lisa Goeas, NFIB Vice President of Political and Grassroots. “He knows that the only way for America to get back on track is to grow the private sector, which means reducing the burdens imposed by the federal government.”
Flake earned a perfect voting record on small business issues this session by pushing to repeal the controversial federal health care law, which NFIB strongly opposed, and other reforms that would expand the country’s energy supply, reduce regulations and reign in the EPA. At the start of every congressional session, NFIB surveys its members on key issues to identify their positions. Then the organization tracks the votes of every member of Congress and the Senate and applies a score form zero to 100 percent (the best), which becomes part of its Voting Record. In the current session Flake turned in a perfect 100 percent.
“Jeff is a principled reformer and a consistent defender of small business,” said Goeas. “It’s very important for Arizona small business owners to send him to the US Senate. He understands their concerns and he’s willing to fight the tough fights.”
NFIB State Director Farrell Quinlan said that the US Senate sorely needs more members like Flake who understand that the status quo in Washington is no longer acceptable.
“The United States Senate hasn’t passed a budget in three years,” said Quinlan. “There’s not a small business or a household in Arizona that could survive without some fiscal discipline and that’s exactly what Jeff Flake will bring to the institution.”
Flake’s endorsement comes from NFIB’s Save America’s Free Enterprise Trust (SAFE), the association’s political action committee, and is based on positions regarding key small-business issues including health care, taxes, and labor and regulatory issues.
Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its members in Arizona to help turn out the small-business vote for Jeff Flake this coming Election Day.

So “status quo in Washington is unacceptable” so we send someone who has spent 12 years in Washington to fix it?
That’s one hell of an endorsement… I assume they like him because he is an open borders loving amnesty pushing RINO, so these businesses can keep getting their cheap labor
First of all, this election isn’t JUST about the interests of business, big or small. It’s about the interests of ALL Arizonans. How does JEFF FLAKE fare in THAT regard?
Well, Jeff Flake co-authored, along with “progressive” Democrat Congressman Luis Gutierrez of Chicago, the STRIVE Act illegal alien amnesty legislation. Hidden in Flake’s STRIVE Act was, word for word, Harry Reid’s beloved DREAM Act illegal alien amnesty legislation. That is the same DREAM Act which B. Hussein Obama just illegally shoved down our throats by executive order!
Flake’s STRIVE Act, and the DREAM Act hidden within in, were at direct odds with the interests of the people of Arizona where illegal immigration and illegal aliens contribute significantly to crime and shcool overcrowding and result in millions upon millons of dollars in unnecessary costs to Arizona taxpayers!
Flake was assigned to the powerful House Judiciary Committee where people like Republican Congressman Darryl Issa are doing a great job in taking the Obama administration to task. Flake was assigned to that committee but was actually kicked off by his own Republican House leadership for “bad behavior”! Nice job representing the people of Arizona, Jeff!
Last, but not least, Jeff Flake lied to Arizona voters. When he first ran for a House seat he promised voters that he would serve only three terms in the House. When confronted with that pledge, upon seeking a fourth term, Flake stated simply, “I lied!” No one accused Flake of lying. Flake himself admitted that he lied!
So here we have a U. S. Congressman from Arizona who sought to have Congress pass the DREAM Act illegal alien amnesty legislation, who was kicked off the House Judiciary Committee by his fellow Republicans and who is a self-admitted liar! Flake thinks that, based upon that failed and dismal record in the House, Arizona voters are going to reward him by making him U. S. Senator from Arizona!
Sorry, Jeff! The people of Arizona deserve BETTER than you to represent them in the U. S. Senate. We are not beggars and we don’t have to settle for the bottom of the barrel!
The person posting as ‘conservative american’ is a mole, a fraud, and a Democrat plant.
Hi ‘ya, Pascoe!
Have any hard facts to make a case for your boy Flake or are you just going to engage in character assassination like Dr. Cristina Beato, LOL!
Yeah, you fit right in with the Flake gang. Nothing to run on so you call the opposition names! Very effective, LOL!
Have a nice day, Illegal Alien!
Here’s one just for you, Pascoe Vale! Watch as Jeff Flake tries to defend his STRIVE Act illegal alien amnesty legislation to Lou Dobbs and Republican Congressman Brian Bilbray!

Gee, that didn’t go too well, Jeff! It’s tough when your fellow Republican House members oppose your illegal alien amnesty legislation, isn’t it?
There’s a big foreign policy bone of contention right now between Obama and the Israelis. Israel wants Obama to commit to a “red line” regarding Iran’s development of nuclear weapon capability. Obama doesn’t want to commit to any sort of line which, if crossed, would trigger military intervention. Each day, Iran moves closer to having the ability to create and deliver a nuclear warhead! Where has Flake been in all of this?
“Rep. Jeff Flake has said that his work as a Mormon missionary in Southern Africa in the early 1980s sparked his interest in foreign affairs. But what the Arizona Republican Senate candidate doesn’t often speak about is what he did after returning to the United States. Between 1990 and 1991, Flake was a registered foreign agent for Rossing Uranium, a company which operates a mine in Namibia that is among the world’s largest suppliers of the nuclear fuel.”
Alright. Nothing wrong with that… or is there something wrong with that?
“The Rossing mine has come under scrutiny for its financial ties to Iran. While the firm Rio Tinto owns 69 percent of the mine, the Iranian Foreign Investment Co., which the Treasury Department describes as a “wholly owned” subsidiary of the Tehran regime, holds a 15 percent stake. Iran has held its share of the company since the 1970s.”
Nice work, Jeff! You went on a Mormon mission to Southern Africa, came home and lobbied for a uranium mining company, with a mine in Namibia, which supplies nuclear fuel and which is 15% owned by the government of…IRAN!
Now THAT is what I call “foreign policy expertise’! Clearly, we need somone with that sort of “expertise” representing Arizona in the U. S. Senate! NOT!
While Jeff Flake has been making heroic efforts to garner the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business, Dr. Richrd Carmona has been out on the streets of Tuscon putting his own life in grave danger to save the lives of at least two women. That’s right, Dr. Richard Carmona, who Cristina Beato of the Flake campaign claims has a “problem” with women!
“In 1999, he happened to be driving by an accident scene in Tucson while in plain clothes and saw an enraged driver attacking a woman; when he stopped to help, the driver shot at Dr. Carmona, who was grazed in the scalp and then shot and killed the driver.”

“1999: shot and mortally wounded a deranged murderer”
“One fall day in 1999, on a busy street in Tucson, Arizona, Dr. Richard Carmona shot and mortally wounded Jean Lafitte, a mentally disturbed man who had just stabbed his own father to death.”
“Carmona, a Tucson trauma M.D., had been on his way to a football game when he stopped to deliver first aid at what appeared to be a traffic accident. When he got closer to the scene, bystanders told him Lafitte was armed. Carmona returned to his car, retrieved his Pima County Sheriff Deputy badge and gun, identified himself repeatedly and warned Lafitte to drop his weapon, news accounts say. Instead, the gunman blasted away at Carmona–one bullet grazed Carmona’s head. Carmona returned fire, mortally wounding Lafitte. Next, he triaged the wounded man. And later, he was credited with saving the lives of bystanders and Lafitte’s girlfriend, whom Lafitte was going to kill next.”

“Lafitte was arrested 13 times between March 1991 and November 1992 for charges including kidnapping, sexual assault, aggravated assault, domestic violence and using the telephone to threaten or intimidate, court records show.”
“In 1992, he was convicted of aggravated assault for trying to strangle his girlfriend as she testified against him in a Superior Court preliminary hearing on accusations that he had committed domestic violence against her in an earlier incident, said O’Connor.”
“Lafitte, who was handcuffed, jumped up as the woman was in the witness box and wrapped his handcuff chain around her neck, O’Connor said. She was injured, but recovered.”
“Lafitte served five years in prison on that conviction and was released Oct. 12, 1995″.

So this guy was attacking a woman and planned to kill his own girlfriend. He had already killed his father earlier that day. Dr. Carmona didn’t just ignore what appeared to be a car accident. He stopped to help and then realized what was going on. When the bad guy fired on Carmona, grazing Carmona’s head, Dr. Carmona returned fire, putting a definitive end to the threat.
How many of you women out there would object to Dr. Carmona showing up on the scene if your life were being threatened by an armed criminal and known murderer? Would you send him away, saying that, “Cristina Beato says that you have a problem with women!” I think not!
In this day and age, when it seems that women have to fend for themselves, it’s nice to know that there are men out there like Dr. Richard Carmona who won’t simply walk on by! Dr. Carmona ALMOST took one in the head to save those women. He’s a hero, not someone who has a “problem” with women!
McFlake is loved by the COC crowd, because his dream of amnesty for 40 – 50 million illegal aliens, including criminals and terrorists, and his Open Borders model will continue to provide cheap slave labor to the COC illegal employers. But is this good for US?
This model steals jobs from Americans, depressing our economy. It forces huge increases in the size & scope of all levels of gov’t to address all of the needs of his huge new entitlement population, most of whom will not find jobs. How to pay for this? – raise taxes and further depress the economy, forcing more & more Americans out of work. It further endangers innocent Americans who will be victimized by this population of criminals and terrorists.
And don’t forget McFlake’s love for Cap & Tax legislation that will require even more gov’t and regulators, paid by tax dollars taken from American taxpayers. It will also force more taxes on American business & industry, further depressing our economy and forcing even more Americans out of jobs. It will also cause the prices of every consumer good and service consumed by American households to skyrocket. Can we afford that? Is this really good for US?
AZ and US deserve better.
God bless America.
