Arizona veterans call out Richard Carmona for misleading voters about Jeff Flake’s record of helping veterans
PHOENIX – It’s apparent to anyone watching television recently that Richard Carmona and his fellow Democrats have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to mislead voters about Jeff Flake’s record of supporting veterans.
Veterans that Jeff Flake has helped over years are upset with these false attacks. In a new ad released today by the Flake campaign, veterans set the record straight.

April White, U.S. Army Veteran, Queen Creek, AZ: “The ads for Richard Carmona saying Jeff Flake is against veterans make me sick. The TV news fact check says they’re misleading (http://youtu.be/cjQ3r9IXdiE). They say he’s really voted, for nearly every single veteran and military bill that’s come up. Let me tell you what else he’s done. He’s taken the time to help one individual vet who was struggling against the bureaucracy to secure her benefits. I’m that vet. I don’t have any connections, but at a very low point in my life a friend said Jeff Flake was a good man and I should reach out to him. He worked his tail off, took on the big boys and was a Godsend.”

Also, the flake campaign is being WAY to reactionary. Very much on the defensive, just constantly having to respond to Carmona instead being proactive.

Dr. Richard Carmona, who enlisted in the Army and served in combat as part of the Army’s Special Forces, was awarded two Bronze Stars.
Army Regulation 600-8-22 states, “The Bronze Star Medal is awarded to any person who, while serving in any capacity in or with the Army of the United States after 6 December 1941, distinguished himself or herself by heroic or meritorious achievement or service, not involving participation in aerial flight, in connection with military operations against an armed enemy; or while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing armed force in which the United States is not a belligerent party.”

Jeff Flake doesn’t have any Bronze Stars. Nor does he have two Purple Hearts like Dr. Carmona does. That’s because Jeff Flake never served in the military, let alone in combat.
After voting to send our military into combat, in the very same month that our troops were rolling into Iraq, Jeff Flake voted AGAINST extending GI Bill benefits to Iraq War veterans! He also voted for a budget which cut $15 BILLION from veterans’ benefits!
Hypocrite Jeff Flake failed to serve in the military, voted to send our troops to war and then voted AGAINST a new GI Bill and voted to cut funding for veterans’ benefits.
Jeff Flake! My hero! NOT!

I’m certain she received some form of compensation for her services which makes her no better than all the other people engaged in the world’s oldest profession.
