Democrat’s attack won’t help a single veteran get better care
PHOENIX – Democrat Richard Carmona launched a desperate negative ad today accusing Jeff Flake of voting against our nation’s veterans and servicemen and women. United States Senator John McCain, a highly-decorated Vietnam veteran and former prisoner of war, responded to the charge, saying:
“Dr. Carmona’s false and negative attack on Jeff Flake is exactly the kind of politics that Arizonans are sick and tired of. These kinds of attacks aren’t going to help a single Arizona veteran get better care. I’ve worked with Jeff Flake on veterans issues for 12 years, so I know first hand that his commitment to Arizona veterans is strong. I look forward to working with him in the U.S. Senate to further advocate for the men and women who have served our nation.”
Arizona’s Jeff Flake has a strong record of standing up for our nation’s veterans and servicemen and women, and that’s a record he will continue in the Senate. Below is a sampling of freestanding pro-veteran legislation that he has supported during his time in Congress.

Oh, John McCain! Why that’s almost as good as an endorsement by “progressive” Democrat Congressman Luis Gutierrez of Chicago with whom JEFF FLAKE co-authored the STRIVE Act amnesty! Its almost as good as an endorsement by Rahm Emauel who co-sponsored Jeff Flake’s STRIVE Act amnesty legislation. Why is it almost as good? Because John McCain and Ted Kennedy were to have been the sponsors of Flake’s STRIVE Act amnesty in the Senate, LOL!
Hey John McCain: drop dead – yesterday. The only thing Arizonans are sick and tired of is your albino azz and the McMachine fighting Arizona every step of the way on illegal immigration and trying to poliitically control Arizona from the Beltway. Why don’t you do everybody a big favor and stroke your way into retirement?
Of course, the best thing about Jeff Flake is that voters can count on him. They can count on him to LIE, LOL! Isn’t that an awful thing to say? Sadly, it’s TRUE! Jeff Flake is a self-admitted liar!
You see when Flake first ran for Congress he pledged to voters that he would serve no more than three, two years terms in the House. This was part of “The Contract With America”. The idea was to have “citizen legislators” rather than career politicians. When Flake ran for a fourth term and was asked about the pledge he had made to voters, Flake simply admitted, “I lied.”
Mr. Flake, what are you lying to voters about this time around? Are you lying about your McCain-like flip-flop on your support for illegal alien amnesty? Well, are ‘ya, Flake? Go ahead, make my day! Tell us what you are lying about this time!
Sick of John McCain and the country clubbers that keeps him in power? Vote Richard Carmona 2012!
Oh, ‘ya just gotta love THIS ptich, LOL!
“Arizona’s Jeff Flake has a strong record of standing up for our nation’s veterans and servicemen and women…”
Well ain’t that nice! Jeff Flake has a record of “standing up” for our nation’s veterans and servicemen and women. Only problem is, Flake himself has never served in the military! What about his opponent, Richard Carmona, has he served?
Richard Carmona enlisted in the Army in 1967, joined the Army’s Special Forces and became a combat decorated Vietnam War veteran.
Flake “stands up” for veterans. Richard Carmona IS a veteran!
The issue isn’t who is a veteran and who isn’t. The issue is Jeff Flake’s voting record on veteran’s issues. Jeff Flake has a very good pro-veteran voting record. Carmona is playing the typical Liberal game of saying that a no vote on a big spending bill laden with pork and earmarks is a vote against every single item in the bill.
But of course you knew that. You are just a one issue wackadoo who might as well be a Democrat.
And that “one issue”, which is costing this country $160 billion a year, means squat to you and the other oinksters who blow it off. “I’ve got mine – my family is safe – so screw everybody else, even the kids.” Maybe you and yours or the Flakeys should be the next victim(s). But not to worry, as long as Flake’s corporate cheap-labor amnesty-sucking benefactors are happy.
Olivia Wilson, age 17, Mesa, AZ, killed 5/28/12 by drunken illegal alien unlicensed driver Alfonso Valdez-Olea, “who had a number of immigration encounters with DHS agencies between October 2008 and August 2009.”
Christopher “Buddy” Rowe, age 4, Santa Rosa, CA, killed 8/23/11 by unlicensed hit and run illegal alien Marcos Lopez Garcia
Anna Bronson, age 11, Belton, MO, killed 7/5/11 in head-on crash by drunken illegal alien Felix Solano-Gallardo
Jonathan Campbell, age 15, Buford, GA, killed 6/24/11 by unlicensed illegal alien Jhony Velasquez Castillo
Shakir West, age 3, Cincinnati, OH, killed 4/4/11 by hit and run illegal alien Rodolfo Temaj Felix
Jacob Tucker, age 9 months, Beaumont, TX, killed 1/24/11 by drunken illegal alien Legarda Quezad
As if anyone supports illegal aliens killing people. Fight another straw man.
You are only open to one narrow solution to a complex issue. And anyone who disagrees with you even in the slightest, you won’t work with even if they agree with you on nearly everything else. That approach isn’t going to get you the results you want.
Who are you kidding? The cheap-labor cheap-sales cheap-votes politicians who have allowed this to happen – and their supporters – don’t give a rat’s ass about more Americans being killed by illegal aliens than we have lost in Iraq and Afghanistan combined. If they did, the border would be sealed right now and politicians like McCain, Kyl, and Flake would be out on their asses. If you continue to support people like this, then you support the killing of Americans on their own soil. THERE IS NO IN BETWEEN.
My solution? Enforce the f****** immigration laws to the fullest and watch the exodus. Seal the border NOW. Those “solutions” are our LAWS and CONSTITUTION.
You still haven’t told us whether or not you support Flake’s STRIVE Act illegal alien amnesty legislation, Reality Check. Do you support the provisions of that legislation or not? Yes or no?
There’s only one thing we want to hear from you, Reality Check. Answer the question. Do you support the provisions that were in the Flake-Gutierrez STRIVE Act. Yes or no?
Stop beating around the bush, Reality Check. Where do you stand on the Flake-Gutierrez STRIVE Act illegal alien amnesty legislation. Do you support the provisions of that legislation? Yes or no?
Where do you stand, Reality Check? Do you support what Flake proposed in his STRIVE Act illegal alien amnesty legislation or do you oppose it?
Richard Carmona was the worst Surgeon General …. he went against the policies of the President, and he’s for Obamacare….you people are NUTS!
Donna, if you want to get rid of Obamacare, get rid of Obama. Vote for Mitt Romney. I am!
If you want to get rid of a self-admitted liar, flip-flopper and someone whose STRIVE Act illegal amnesty legislation was shot down by his fellow Republicans, then don’t vote for Jeff Flake! You don’t have to vote for Carmona, just don’t vote for Flake!
And you, apparently, are a McCain-Kyl-Flake illegal alien trollop.
Zoo, you’ve crossed the line. When you call Donna a “trollop”, that is going too far. You own Donna an apology.
That isn’t going to happen, I didn’t start the ad hominem.
Here is one of the definitions of “trollop”:
“1. an immoral or promiscuous woman, especially a prostitute.”
It’s fine to disagree politically but to cast an aspersion like that on the character of a woman, who you probably don’t even know, is inexusable, zoo. That is simply going too far.
Do you think that you are going to garner support for your position or even have the respect of people if you do things like that? Is your point simply to strike back? Is that what it is all about for you?
Of course, no one can force you to apologize. A forced apology is meaningless anyway. However, I urge you to think about what you wrote, think about the situation and see if there is something in yourself which tells you that calling Donna a trollop is wrong.
I understand, zoo, that you are passionate about your politics. I also understand that it is very easy to “depersonalize” things in a blog like this. You have to remind yourself, though, that in addressing Donna that you are addressing a person, a woman. Would you say something like that to her face to face in public? I could be wrong, but I don’t think that you are that kind of person. You are always making great effort to stand up for what is right. Will you also do that now?
Talking to yourself again?
Do you support the provisions that were in the Flake-Gutierrez STRIVE Act illegal alien amnesty legislation, Reality Check? Yes or no?
I have a feeling you are talking to yourself. How many different names?
Answer the question, Reality Check, Do you or do you not support Jeff Fale’s STRIVE Act?
I will never vote for Jeff McFlake, he is a liar. As far as McCrap is concerned he ran the filthiest campaign against JD Hayworth in Arizona History, 23 million bux to win the Senate. Everyday I speak to somone about why I think we should vote for Carmona. We need 51 people in the senate to take over, we will get that easily, we do not need 60 to rid us of Obamacare. We do not want another career politician in office and in 6 we rid this state of Carmona. By that time the old man will be retired and we will have a Conservative in office to start repairing the USA from the Treaties McFilth help pass in the Seante.

Oh, so you like videos, Donna. Well, here’s one for YOU!
Watch your supposedly “conservative” hero, Jeff Flake, in action attempting to defend his STRIVE Act illegal alien amnesty legislation to Lou Dobbs and fellow Republican Congressman Brian Bilbray!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dKLRvtQS3Y
Jeff Flake tried to implement, by law, the illegal alien amnesty favored by B. Hussein Obama. It was congressional Republicans who put a stop to Flake’s treachery!
Jeff Flake has a congressional career-long record of:
1. Fighting AGAINST the state he REPRESENTS in Washington on illegal immigration.
2. In conflict and in opposition to the RNC’s 2012 party platform
He opposed Proposition 200 in 2004 – protesting deep from the rear end of the Western Growers Association. Proposition 200 DENIED state benefits to illegal aliens, and REQUIRED proof of citizenship to register to vote. This BASIC protection was opposed by an Arizona elected official?
He opposed Arizona SB 1070 and grimaced when its main component was upheld by SCOTUS.
Look at this video clip.
Flake shows no support for SB 1070 as he spins every question into “sealing the border.”
He says not one word about state’s rights or HIS state’s victory.
At one point, he even says “They [Arizona] prevailed on………..” THEY? Not “we” but “they” – as though the state he represents is a third or fourth party.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=vpm5oXhncvY
Just this May, Flake voted to CONTINUE funding Obama DOJ lawsuits against Arizona and other states
who have passed immigration enforcement laws. He wants to use Federal tax dollars Arizonans paid to sue Arizona so it must we defended with State tax dollars Arizonans paid. (jamming Arizona taxpayers from both sides)
Is THIS what you want representing Arizona in the U.S. Senate?????
Every fiber of Flake’s anti-Arizona, anti-law, anti-sovereignty, pro-illegal alien benefits, pro-illegal alien voting positions were implanted intravenously by John McCain and Jon Kyl.
To blow up the McMachine into a billion pieces, I would vote for Vicente Fox.
CD9, zoo, and Conservative American are what’s wrong with the AZ GOP. Cutting off their nose despite their face. Let us all know how it feels if Carmona beats Flake to have contributed to Harry Reid retaining his power in the Senate.
Funny, I think John McCain, John Kyl, Jeff Flake, Jerry Lewis, Bob Worsley, Grant Woods, Rick Romney, Nancy Barto, Rich Crandall, Adam Driggs, John McComish, John Nelson, Michele Reagan, Steve Pierce, Steve Yarbrough and the ARIZONA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE is what is wrong with the AZ GOP.
I’m afraid that Republican party hacks screaming “fire!” or crying wolf just doesn’t work anymore. If Arizona Republican voters desire those who fight against Arizona, fight against the majority in the party, fight against the rule of law, and fight against America’s sovereignty, let them be smothered by it.
Elections were never intended to be “ticket” voting up to the point of insanity. If the depth of your political posture is to be a party-voter, more power to you.
John Galt is what is wrong the AZ GOP. John Galt is what is going wrong with America. John Galt can’t see beyond the nose on his face. Let’s see if we can expand John Galt’s vision a little!
John, I see an error in your logic which I would like to point out to you. You are looking at how you think Harry Reid is going to fare. Let me suggest that instead you take a good look at candidate Flake!
You want to jump ahead to things like what is going to happen with Harry Reid while ignoring what it is you are looking at putting in the U. S. Senate to represent the people of Arizona!
Let’s look at the OBJECTIVE facts about Flake. Flake is a self-admitted liar. He pledged to voters that he would serve no more than three terms and when he broke that pledge he simply stated, “I lied. Ask yourself, John, do I REALLY want a self-admitted liar, who broke his pledge to voters, to represent the people of Arizona in the U. S. Senate?
Jeff Flake co-authored the STRIVE Act illegal alien amnesty legislation along with “progressive” Democrat Congressman Luis Gutierrez of Chicago. Is THAT who you want to represent you in the U. S. Senate, someone who supports amnesty for illegal aliens?
How is it that the Arizona Republican Party is NOT offering us a candidate who tells the truth, keeps his word and who is a staunch defender of the sovereignty of The United States? Don’t we deserve that? Is that REALLY too much to ask?
So, you say, the reality is that we are faced with a choice between Carmona and Flake. Yes, and THAT is precisely the point, John! WHY are we faced with that choice? We are faced with that choice because that is the choice being offered to us by the Arizona Republican Party. Is that REALLY a choice? No! Vote for Carmona or vote for Flake and you are STILL going to get someone in the U. S. Senate who supports illegal alien amnesty! It’s a stacked deck with voters not really being offered a choice at all. What to do?
Well, what do you do when a child behaves badly? You implement consquences designed to modify the child’s behavior. So too, we need to do behavior modification with the Arizona Republican Party. We need to make it clear that offering voters no choice is going to result in no win! Only THEN will the Arizona Republican Party see to it that Republican voters are offered a real and meaningful choice.
When we get vaccinated we endure a small amount of pain for a short period of time in order to avoid contracting potentially fatal illnesses. So to in politics there are times when we may have to endure a small amount of pain for a short period of time to avoid contracting potentially fatal political illnesses which can bring down our country. This is one of those times.
“When we get vaccinated we endure a small amount of pain for a short period of time in order to avoid contracting potentially fatal illnesses.”
Senate terms aren’t for a “short period of time”. They are for six years. And Senators have a tendency to get re-elected. There have only been 10 US Senators from Arizona in its 100 years as a state. What happened the last time a Republican lost the US Senate in AZ? We ended up with liberal Democrat Dennis DeConcini for 12 years. That’s not a vaccination. That is cutting off your nose to spite your face.
It seems to me the children behaving badly around here are the ones running home crying when they don’t get things 100% their way.
“…crying when they don’t get things 100% their way”
THEIR way? This is still America. No one is required to vote for a treasonous illegal alien butler. We’ll see how “badly” it is when liberals, Democrats, Hispanics, independants, and Republicans crush the McMachine. Flake is going down, the numbers are there right this minute. Maybe you should consider self-asphyxiation now and avoid the rush.
The kid isn’t required to play ball either. He can take his ball and run home crying. You are responsible for your own behavior. Just don’t expect many people to follow your spitefull self-destructive lead.
When this is all over, I don’t think I will be the one asphyxiating…
Yes or no, Reality Check? Do you support what was in the Flake-Gutierrez STRIVE Act illegal alien amnesty legislation? Well, do ‘ya, RC? ‘-)
Why would the Hispanics line up against Flake when he is a “treasonous illegal alien butler?” I think that’s how you put it.
To answer Conservative American’s question, I support the STRIVE Act. It secured the borders while reforming a broken immigration system. It also attempted to find and prosecute the 40% of illegal immigrants that come to the country legally and overstay their visa.
Hispanics vote 80-90% Democratic, Carmona is Cuban, and Carmona’s home base is in Baja Arizona, where the libs and the antelope play. My guess is Flake won’t even pull 25% of the Hispanic vote.
The border was supposed to be secured with the Secure Fence Act of 2006, and DHS is supposed to pursue over-stayed visas and freshly picked border hoppers all day – everyday, that is their job.
So why did we need the “Strive Act?” What amnesty provision(s) is in it that you don’t want to mention? And don’t tell me a fine (paid out of the amnestied illegal’s first Earned Income Credit refund) is NOT amnesty.
It sounds like you want to debate the STRIVE Act, John. I say it was flat out amnesty for illegal aliens. Apparently you think otherwise. If you would like to debate the STRIVE Act, let’s go! I would suggest starting the debate with a fresh comment at the bottom of the current thread, though, as the comment box has already gotten too narrow up here. The ball is in your court, John!
Do you support the provisions that were in the Flake-Gutierrez STRIVE Act illegal alien amnesty legislation, Reality Check? Yes or no?
What we want to know, Reality Check, is if you support the provisions that were in Flake’s STRIVE Act illegal alien amnesty legislation. Well, do ‘ya, Reality Check?
No deary we will have 51 at least, that gives us the majority. It is still called MATH!!!
I will not vote for another Amnesty Lover, I will not vote for another traitor, we want a real Conservative and all we will get is a career politician. We really need JD Hayword or Trent Franks.
Well, ain’t that something! Reality Check doesn’t want to tell us if he/she supports the provsions of the Flake-Gutierrez STRIVE Act illegal alien amnesty legislation. I wonder why not, LOL!
So here we have the paradigam for the Flake campaign and it’s supporters; “Can’t and won’t!”
Jeff Flake can’t tell the truth and his supporters won’t tell the truth, LOL!
Flake 2012, the “Can’t and won’t!” team!
Have a nice day, Liberal Check!
You should not that the time you post is available for everyone to see. You asked Reality Check a question and then called him/her out 13 min later for not answering, even though he/she hadn’t been on since roughly 4:00pm. But who am I? I’m just another RINO that supported the STRIVE Act, right?
Question, Conservative American: Have you ever read the STRIVE Act? I’m talking the bill, not just someone’s take on it or a summary.
LOL! What you apparently DON’T know, John, is that I asked that question of Reality Check numerous times in a previous thread, where he/she was defending Flake, and Reality Check never answered the question in THAT thread!
Now, here we are in THIS thread, with Reality Check continuing on without ever having answered the simple, straightforward question I put to him/her! WHY is Reality Check avoiding answering that question across MULTIPLE threads?
Yes, John, I HAVE read the STRIVE Act and I have ALSO read the testimony on it in committee. If you would like to debate the STRIVE Act, let’s go!
This “conservative” American thinks we all hang out on the Sonoran Alliance comments 24 hours a day with nothing better to do. He also thinks that he dictates what the comments are going to be about and tries to monopolize them.
I think that is pretty typical of these one issue wonders. They think everything is about them, and if other people don’t agree with them 100%, they need to be punished (like children according to the so called “conservative”).
Answer the question, Reality Check. It’s really very, very simple! Do you or do you not support the Flake-Gutierrez STRIVE Act of 2007? Yes or no?
There are parts of the STRIVE ACT that I liked and parts that I didn’t.
You just want to talk about one issue. That’s all you care about. You have blinders on. Find another straw man to fight.
That doesn’t answer the question, Reality Check. The question is whether or not you support the Flake-Gutierrez STRIVE Act. Yes or no?
You see, Reality Check, under our form of government, when legislation is proposed in the U. S. Congress, voters are not empowered with a “line item veto”. The entire bill is either passed or it is not passed. When a bill is passed, you get the whole bill… ALL of it! So either you support the Flake-Gutierrez STRIVE Act, as written, or you don’t. You are seeking to avoid answering the question by fabricating a third choice which doesn’t exist, LOL!
Reality Check wrote: “You just want to talk about one issue.”
Wrong! In fact, I have already talked about TWO issues. The other issue I have already brought up is that Jeff Flake is a self-admitted liar. When Flake first ran for Congress he pledged to voters that he would serve only three terms in the House. When he ran for a fourth term, and was asked about his pledge, he stated flatly, “I lied.”
Reality Check wrote: “Find another straw man to fight.”
Obviously, you don’t understand what the term “staw man” means, Reality Check. Addressing the fact that Jeff Flake lied and addressing a very specific piece of legislation is not bringing up a “straw man”. Those are as real, tangible and concrete as it gets!
Reality Check: WHY won’t you anwer the question? Do you support the STRIVE ACT or not?
Besides being a liar, Jeff Flake is an amnesty whore for the agricultural lobby. No wonder you don’t want to talk about this “one issue.”
DO YOU SUPPORT THE STRIVE ACT OR NOT? Why are you afraid to answer? We could think any less of you than we do now. Answer the question!
@ John Galt:
Before we begin a debate of Jeff Flake’s STRIVE Act of 2007, there is one point which I think needs to be made clear and which we need to be in agreement about first. Jeff Flake’s STRIVE Act of 2007 included in it the DREAM Act. Yes, the same DREAM Act which Democrats have tried, and failed, to pass numerous times. The same DREAM Act which President Obama, having failed to get it through Congress, has implemented, probably illegally, through executive order. So when you say that you support Flake’s STRIVE Act of 2007, you are ALSO saying that you support the Democrat’s DREAM Act.
I don’t expect you to believe that without proof. “Trust but verify!” So here is the irrefutable proof that what I have stated above is fact:
Here is the link to the text of the DREAM Act of 2009:
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/F?c111:1:./temp/~c111AB30oZ:e1387:
Here is the link to the text of the DREAM Act as incorporated into Subtitle B of the STRIVE Act of 2007:
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/F?c110:1:./temp/~c110Y6ruU3:e616234:
As you can see, the text of Subtitle B of the STRIVE Act of 2007, the DREAM Act, is the same, word for word, as the text of the DREAM Act of 2009.
So when you state that you support Jeff Flake’s STRIVE Act of 2007 you are ALSO saying that you support the Democrat’s DREAM Act which Obama just did an end run around Congress to implement by executive order.
Are we clear about that and in agreement about that? If not, what is it which is unclear to you about it?
@ John Galt:
Ah! I see that the links don’t work because they are “search” links and timeout. So, although you can search them for yourself, I’m going to have to do this the hard way, LOL!

If you read on, you’ll see that the text of Title VI, Subtitle B of Jeff Flake’s STRIVE Act of 2007 and the text of the DREAM Act are the same word for word. The DREAM Act was part and parcel of Flake’s STRIVE Act of 2007.
I don’t think one should criticize Mr. Flake. It does not matter to Mr “I’d lied”.
McFlake does NOT support the AMERICAN military. He voted to destroy the American military by homosexualizing it. He voted to force American military commanders to have “gay marriages” on their bases. He voted to force American military chaplains to allow and participate in these “gay” farces. He voted to force American military chaplains out of the military if they refuse to violate the tenets of their religious beliefs and refuse to go along with his “gay” agenda. He voted to force the military prosecution of American soldiers who refuse to violate their religious beliefs and their allegiance to the security of our country by blindly accepting McFlake’s “gay” insanity.
And don’t forget that McFlake & McAmnesty helped give us the Super Committee and the automatic crippling cuts to the American military budgets. And don’t forget McAmnesty’s own history of cowardice and betrayal of our American POW/MIA’s in Viet Nam.
McFlake, like his daddy McAmnesty, is no friend to AZ or US.
God bless America.
REALITY CHECK actually supports UN’s CRPD Treaty, the one that McMcCain and side kick McKyl plan on voting for. It backs up their progressive slid into the A-moral abyss.
That said, and as McFake said that he will CONTINUE Kyl’s agenda – Flake own’s by acceptance of the Jon/John twins endorsements, their past congressional records, their current behaviors and any future ramifications to include the UN CRPD’s intent among other sinister things teach our toddlers that it is their right to enjoy sexual gratification via masterbation.
“REALITY CHECK actually supports UN’s CRPD Treaty”
Oh really? I didn’t even know what the CRPD was until I just looked it up. Not sure how I “actually support” something I don’t know about.
“That said, and as McFake said that he will CONTINUE Kyl’s agenda – Flake own’s by acceptance of the Jon/John twins endorsements, their past congressional records, their current behaviors and any future ramifications to include the UN CRPD’s intent among other sinister things teach our toddlers that it is their right to enjoy sexual gratification via masterbation.”
WTF? LOL!
Yeah, JPD, Carmona is a known quantity. He is what he is. Flake, on the other hand, is deceptive. He’ll tell you that he’s only going to serve three terms and then run for a fourth. He’ll tell you that he’s not for amnesty but then even include the “progressive” Democrat DREAM Act in his STRIVE Act legislation. The bottom line is that Jeff Flake simply cannot be trusted! He’s a self-admitted liar and a deceiver!
I wouldn’t want to see Republicans counting on his vote in a critical situation, especially if it concerns something like illegal aliens or illegal immigration! He’s unpredictable and can’t be counted on! Republicans wouldn’t be able to plan important Senate votes with any certainty at all. Flake would always be a wild card!
