The Bully Agenda

Many have personal experiences with bullies. For some, these experiences can be truly terrible, even life-threatening. Bullying in any form is wrong and unacceptable.

In recent years, concerns about bullying have garnered national attention. But when you look behind the curtain at what is driving this nationwide dialogue, you find out that the groups that are pushing the “anti-bullying” campaigns are the same organizations working to redefine marriage and to force cultural acceptance and affirmation of homosexual lifestyles.

Take the recent bill proposed in the Arizona legislature – SB 1462. On the surface, the bill seems well-intentioned. It prohibits bullying in schools, and requires teachers, school administrators, students, and parents to undergo annual training to prevent bullying.

The questions arise when one considers which organizations would provide the training and which organizations are behind the legislation. As a leading homosexual magazine in Arizona wrote, Equality Arizona, one n ten, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) were all in attendance at the bill’s committee hearing to support and see the legislation pass.

You see, groups like Equality Arizona and GLSEN have used the bullying issue in order to gain access to our public schools. These are the groups that supporters of the bill will bring into schools to teach the anti-bullying training to our students.

What concerns me is that this is already happening. I received an email from a parent whose 11-year-old daughter was forced to watch a documentary called Bullied during class time without any parental notification or consent. Taken directly off the tolerance.org website, “Bullied is a documentary film that chronicles one student’s ordeal at the hands of anti-gay bullies and offers an inspiring message of hope to those fighting harassment today. It can become a cornerstone of anti-bullying efforts in middle and high schools.” As this dad wrote:

Upon questioning my daughter I was able to determine the video presented was the documentary Bullied. My wife and I spent the next several minutes apologizing to her that she was forced by her school to view the material … I should note the school was diligent in requiring written parental approval for my daughter to view a specific rendition of Star Wars, but the Administration need not trouble the parents over [these] materials. The material was not all that timely for our child either since we had to define for her the terms “homo” and ”fag” at our dinner table.

There is no doubt about it; the “bullying” theme is agenda-driven propaganda. The irony is that groups like Equality Arizona and GLSEN have chosen this issue to bully you and me into allowing them access into our schools and to our children. To express concerns about anti-bullying bills is portrayed in the most unfavorable light.

These bullying bills are not sound public policy. Not only are they a thinly veiled attempt to allow political groups into our schools, they also divert the focus of our school system off the fundamentals. Class time should be for reading, writing, and arithmetic.

Parents—pay attention to what anti-bullying programs are being presented in your public schools. Check out the Arizona Senate vote in favor of SB 1462. Rest assured, CAP will be closely monitoring SB 1462, and will let you know if we need your help to ensure this bit of bad legislation never becomes law.

Legislative Line Up CAP-supported bills continue to move through the legislative process:

  • SB 1359 – Prohibits so-called “wrongful life” lawsuits against medical professionals for misdiagnosing or not diagnosing a birth defect of a preborn child, which, if known, would have led to the child being aborted. This bill will be heard in House Judiciary next Thursday.
  • HB 2800 – Bans federal dollars that pass through the state to go to organizations that provide abortions. This bill passed House and will be heard in Senate Health next Wednesday.
  • HB 2712 – Enhances public library policies to protect minors from being exposed to pornography. This bill passed the House and will be heard in Senate Education next Monday.

  1. So in this wishful pure homophobic existence, it would be unthinkable that a child who is targeted as being gay by his classmates, then bullied, attacked, beat up, and heaven forbid killed (as has happened frequently) would be included in the anti-bullying protection routines along with the normal, pure, straight children. So much bigotry and hate, always dependable from the white-supremacist religious conservatives.

    • Conservative American says:

You just articulated the problem, Danny. Homosexual activists are concerned about bullying of gay kids but not about bullying of ALL kids. So much for the depth of your concerns and empathy for others.

Danny wrote: “So much bigotry and hate, always dependable from the white-supremacist religious conservatives.”

Who is full of hate and bigotry? Religious Conservatives are “white-supremacist”? Funny you choose to bring race into it here but you mentioned nothing about bullying of racial minority kids. Does the fact that you mentioned only gay kids make you a “gay-supremacist”?

      • TruConserv says:

Your post makes no sense and draws a conclusion without any supporting facts or claims.

Why do you think homosexual activists don’t care about other children being bullied? Nothing in the post preceding yours would give any indication of that.

Besides, I don’t listen to the arguments of Marxists who try to spread this kind of Communist propaganda about our form of government:

“Politicians do rule over the people. They are elected for that role.”

In one of TC’s habitual Marxist “if/then” arguments, he tells us that:

              “TruConserv says:

“If I’m a Marxist for stating that legislators in a republic are the rulers and the ruled then so is Thomas Jefferson.”

When Thomas Jefferson died, Karl Marx was eight years old. Marxism didn’t even exist during Jefferson’s lifetime. So Thomas Jefferson can’t be a Marxist, but TC can be and is a Marxist.

Besides, I don’t listen to the arguments of Rugby “players” who think that the game is played on your belly, eating dirt and sucking in cleat dust.

    • Anyone else wonder how Rep Patterson would fair under Bully legislation?

  2. Sad. I have seen first hand the havoc bullying causes. My austic grandchild was bullied in 3 grade .Fortunately, the school system had a Bully Policy. She is 10 now & there have been no more bully occasions since then. So called sexual orientation should also not matter when we are trying to “right the ship” with legislation against bullies in our K – 12 schools. I recommend an ebook that is free on Amazon “Bullying(52 Brilliant Ideas).” It has excellent advise for anyone being bullied in school or on social media. Please support legislation policy that protects children from bullies.

  3. Conservatvie American says:

And now, for the REST of the story!

“He Said Explicit Videos Were Inappropriate For High Schoolers…And Was Denounced As A Homophobe!?”

“An anti-bullying curriculum in the Vancouver public schools points kids to a website featuring explicit videos of gay sex. When school board Trustee Ken Denike learned of it, he suggested periodic reviews of all online resources…and was roundly denounced by community leaders as a homophobe!”

“Imagine that—in our neighbor to the north, protecting 13 year old children from being exposed to pornography in public schools is now just a politically motivated attack.”

“The gay press understands the issue:”

“This is a moral question, I agree. Just as the black civil rights movement changed the rules of what is and isn’t acceptable for racism, the gay rights movement is shifting norms in Canada. And with that comes a message to those who won’t evolve: your outdated morals are no longer acceptable, and we will teach your kids the new norms.”

  4. I know it’s a lot to ask, but did you guys read the bill? No reference to kinds of bullying, other than to recognize there are different classes that are bullied and equal protection is deserved by all.

Kind of like when William F. Buckley used the ACLU to support him in a religious liberty issue.

Besides, these “horror” stories already happened and this bill includes the mandate that schools let families opt out of the bullying prevention programs. Gee, who’s got a problem with that? You do know schools can TODAY have an anti-bully program and NOT let parents know or opt-out, so this bill actually does a good thing to preserve families’ rights that they don’t have today.

    • Conservative American says:

I have a problem with that, Wilson. Why? Because you are not telling the whole story, that’s why.

Mandating that students participate in “educational” programs about bullying WITHOUT parental notification or approval is just a lawsuit away and is a fact in many schools in the U. S. as the resutl of lawsuits.

“Anoka-Hennepin Settles LGBT Bullying Lawsuit, Still Denies Wrongdoing”

      “by Steve Williams
      March 6, 2012
      11:41 am”

“It has been announced that the Anoka-Hennepin School District has entered into an agreement to dismiss a lawsuit brought on behalf of students that said teachers had not done enough to prevent anti-LGBT bullying due to the district’s former, and highly controversial, gag-policy on discussing sexual orientation. However, the district is still denying any wrongdoing.”

“It has been remarked that while the new policy is an improvement on the old gag rule and the ‘controversial” topics proposal, it still goes out of its way to side-step affirming that LGBT identity is normal and healthy.”

So, on the pretext of “anti-bullying” education, we get to that the LGBT lifestyle needs to be affirmed as “normal and healthy”. It’s neither normal nor healthy!

“Alameda parents file lawsuit over gender curriculum mandate”

      “Alameda Journal”

“A group of parents opposed to a controversial anti-bullying curriculum adopted by the Alameda public schools has filed a lawsuit over the district’s refusal to excuse their children attending the classes.”

“They oppose the curriculum because, they claim, it indoctrinates young children about the lifestyle and gay, lesbian and transgender families. District officials insist the curriculum was needed to address some of the causes of bullying on school campuses.”

“Parents have asked that their children be allowed to “opt-out” of the classes but the district has sent letters to the parents denying the requests.”

The provisions of SB 1462 are NOT written in stone forever and can be mandated to be altered by law, even against the wishes of legislators, as the result of a lawsuit brought by organizations like the ACLU or the SPLC. Also note, that would have the effect of allowing a judge or judges to legislate from the bench.

Now here’s a story about bullying in the classroom:

“Michigan Student Sues School After Being Punished and Humiliated for Expressing Religious Views”

“The Thomas More Law Center filed a federal lawsuit yesterday afternoon against the Howell Public School District located in Howell, Michigan, and teacher, Johnson (“Jay”) McDowell, for punishment and humiliation heaped on a student after he expressed his religious belief opposing homosexuality when asked by the teacher during class.”

“The student, Daniel Glowacki, a junior at Howell High at the time of the incident, was specifically asked by McDowell about his feelings on homosexuals. Daniel responded that as a Catholic he was offended by the gay and lesbian lifestyle. Because of his answer, Daniel was ordered to leave the classroom under threat of suspension.”

    • TruConserv says:

Yes – bullying can run both ways and it’s good to see this student’s views protected.

This bill would make it even easier for good kids like Glowacki. Why do you oppose his right to not to be bullied for being a Christian?

The bill Cathi (with in ‘i’) Herrod opposes would help ensure that student wasn’t targeted.

Let’s be honest – you and Ms. Herrod will oppose any bill that makes it abusing gay kids and the children of gay parents unacceptable.

If the bill specifically excluded bullying due to sexual orientation I have no doubt you would support it.

      • Conservative American says:

Sorry, TC, but I don’t listen to the arguments of Marxists.

Ronald Reagan -”The enemy is not confused – to him the course is very clear. He knows he is in a war now. This conflict was delcared more than a century ago by Karl Marx.”

“TruConserv” -”It is not our goal to oppose everything Marx supported.”

Ronald Reagan -”With the most arrogant cynicism, they say that our ignorance of their tactics and strategy, their aims and objectives is communism’s greatest weapon.”

“TruConserv” -”Marx wanted citizens to be armed, trains that run on time, milk to be fresh.”

Ronald Reagan recognized that there is an enemy who is at war with us and that that war was declared by Karl Marx. Reagan warned of being unaware of the tactics of the Communists.

“TruConserv” seeks to dissuade us from opposing “everything” which Karl Marx supported and paints Marx as a benign man concerned that “trains run on time” and for “milk to be fresh”.

Heed the warning of Ronald Reagan. Do not fail to recognize the deceptive Communist tactics of “TruConserv” who is a Marxist posing as a “Conservative”.

“ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND, February 22, 2012 —A 14-year-old homeschooler who testified before the Maryland state senate against a bill redefining marriage has been the subject of cyberbullying, vicious name-calling, and death threats.”

“TFP Student Action, a Roman Catholic organization dedicated to traditional morality, recorded several of the most offensive threats in a press release. A commenter on the YouTube video wrote, “If I ever see this girl, I will kill her. That’s a promise.”

“Other YouTube comments ranged from, “Her parents should be exterminated,” to, “Kill this child and his [sic] parent, for my 11 birthday would be a wonderful gift, thanks.”

“A comment posted on LGBTNation.com said, ““And now everyone knows her name, so hopefully she will feel what its like to be harassed and bullied…”

    • TruConserv says:

Another great reason to regulate bullying.

Why do you want this dear child to endure bullying simply because of her faith?

“Attorney Says School Threatened, Punished WI Boy Who Opposed Gay Adoption”

“A 15-year-old Wisconsin boy who wrote an op-ed opposing gay adoptions was censored, threatened with suspension and called ignorant by the superintendent of the Shawano School District, according to an attorney representing the child.”

“Mathew Staver, the founder of the Liberty Counsel, sent a letter to Superintendent Todd Carlson demanding an apology for “Its unconstitutional and irrational censorship and humiliation” of Brandon Wegner.”

“Wegner, a student at Shawano High School, was asked to write an op-ed for the school newspaper about whether gays should be allowed to adopt. Wegner, who is a Christian, wrote in opposition. Another student wrote in favor of allowing gays to adopt.”

“Wegner used Bible passages to defend his argument, including Scripture that called homosexuality a sin.”

“After the op-ed was published, a gay couple whose child attend s the high school, complained.”

“The school immediately issued an apology – stating Wegner’s opinion was a “form of bullying and disrespect.”

“But Staver said what the school system did next was absolutely outrageous. He said the 15-year-old was ordered to the superintendent’s office where he was subjected to hours of meetings and was accused of violating the school’s bullying policy.”

“The superintendent called him ignorant and said he had the power to suspend him,” Staver said. “He’s using his position to bully this student. This is absolutely the epitome of intolerance.”

“Staver said the boy’s parents were never notified.”

“The superintendent wants everyone to accept homosexuality as normative and homosexual adoption as something that should be standard practices,” Staver said. “In doing so, he’s belittling the views and the biblical views of many people across this country. He is playing a zero-sum game. He’s not interested in dialogue. He wants to cram his view down the throat of everyone else and will not tolerate an opposing viewpoint.”

    And now, about “inclusion”!

“Appeal Argues SJ Officials Broke the Law By Stifling Debate Over “Rainbow Day”

    “City: San José, CA
    Date: 11/07/2011″

“Opening legal briefs have been filed in the California Court of Appeal, arguing that San José school officials broke the law by refusing to even consider a parent’s request to change a controversial pro-gay celebration at her child’s middle school.”

“The parent, Norina Mooney, started asking questions after a pro-LGBT “Rainbow Day” was held this spring at Castillero Middle School. She asked district officials to place an item on the school board’s agenda which, if approved, would have directed the school to make Rainbow Day more inclusive of non-LGBT students affected by bullying.”

“While Mooney was eventually allowed to speak generally about her concerns at a board meeting, the superintendent and board president refused to place the item on the agenda, which prevented the board from taking any action on it. As a result, the board was able to duck the hot-button issue.”

“School officials may have thought they succeeded in avoiding the issue, but they actually broke the law, according to Mooney’s lead attorney Kevin Snider, who is also Chief Counsel of the Pacific Justice Institute. “California law says that citizens may place items directly on school board agendas for discussion and a vote. That did not happen here,” Snider said.”

So much for the idea that the homosexual lobby is interested in all kids who are being bullied. They are only concerned about the bullying of gay kids! How broad minded and empathetic! If you are a minority kid and being bullied, too bad, unless you are a gay minority kid!

    • TruConserv says:

And now, for MORE of the story!

“Schools can stop bullying without promoting homosexuality or gender confusion”

“March 10, 2011 – Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality, warned that a White House “Bullying Prevention Summit” today may promote a pro-homosexuality agenda in schools in the guise of stopping cruelty between students.”

“Schools administrators and teachers must ensure a safe and protective learning environment for all students, but they can do so without injecting divisive ‘sexual orientation’ and radical ‘transgender’ politics into the classroom,” LaBarbera said. “There is a real danger that ‘anti-bullying’ policies will be used to curtail any speech in schools critical of homosexuality, and create curricula that discriminate against religious students who believe homosexual behavior is morally wrong.”

“President Obama has invited pro-homosexual activists from GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network) and other pro-LGBT groups to the summit.”

“LaBarbera also opposes a federal bill, the Safe Schools Improvement Act (SSIA)—supported by Senate Democrats and lone Republican Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL)—as “a Trojan Horse that would push politically correct agendas about homosexuality and ‘transgenderism’ in schools in the name of stopping bullying.”

Well, what do you know! The very same organization, GLSEN, which B. Hussein Obama invited to his White House “Bullying Prevention Summit” was front and center at the committee hearing here in Arizona on SB 1462! GLSEN must be pretty tight with Obama to get his personal invitation to the White House!

  11. Conservative American says:

    And now, more about GLSEN!

“Major ‘anti-gay bullying’ group tied to Obama admin awarded five-year government grant”

“WASHINGTON, D.C., August 5, 2011 – A top anti “gay bullying” organization has been awarded a long-term grant to to establish “safe spaces” in public schools across America days after the group’s founder left the Obama administration.”

“The Division of Adolescent and School Health of the U.S. government’s Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has awarded a five-year, $285,000 a year grant to the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), the gay rights group announced in June as reported by World Net Daily.”

“GLSEN’s founder is former Obama administration “Safe Schools” Czar Kevin Jennings, who resigned only days before the announced grant to head Be the Change, another national gay rights initiative. Jennings came under major fire from conservative groups and lawmakers for his participation in GLSEN’s lewd youth programs, including explanations of dangerous homosexual sex acts such as “fisting.”

“GLSEN in April was involved in a Facebook scandal involving its homosexual school clubs, or Gay Straight Alliances (GSA). A pro-family group recently revealed that the GSA Facebook page linked to numerous explicit homosexual sex hook-up sites, some featuring apparently middle-school-age boys. GLSEN reportedly removed the page hours after it drew media attention.”

“On its website, GLSEN states that it aims to implement the “safe spaces” program, which educates against “anti-LGBT bias,” in “every middle and high school in the country.”

And that is how B. Hussein Obama is spending YOUR federal tax dollars, helping to fund GLSEN, which is going to “educate” YOUR kids.

  12. I for one agree fully with CAP and Cathi. Last year the PVUSD allowed students to participate in the “Day of Silence” I hadn’t heard of it and didn’t know about it until the nightmare for my son began. He and a group of his High School friends at Shadow Mountain HS were offended by kids walking around with tape over their mouths and being allowed to remain silent in class, all in support of “anti-bullying” This event is sponsored IN FULL by the LBGT community. See the referenced website.

Well my son and his group of friends decided to form a group opposed to what the school district allowed. A teacher found out about the group (no on campus activities, all on facebook), the school called them a gang, and accused them of bullying (no student was ever harassed or approached in any way)….several were either given long term suspensions or expelled. My son was made to transfer high schools, prohibited from playing football, and had to have “sensitivity” counseling.

This was all because the PVUSD allowed an on campus protest which in direct violation of their district policy and by simple definition, disrupted the learning environment, didn’t notify parents of their decision, and then refused to accept any responsibility for the student backlash.

There is a definite agenda here and I am glad CAP and Cathi are speaking out!

PS…..PVUSD is allowing this Day of Silence protest again this yeah on 4/20. I am hoping to organize the conservative community in North Phoenix to protest the district and to help elect board members who reflect the values of this community.

    • sorry…I thought the website would show….it is dayofsilence.org

  13. Robert Biggs says:

Homophobic people are afraid that they might be subjected to perform a sexual act by homosexual bullying. There is no scriptural evidence that Jesus singled out such concerns. Apparently Cathi Herrod’s ‘Holy Spirit’ does have this concern, however, which has motivated her to kill legislation to block protection for our children from all kinds of bullying, because she apparently thinks homosexuals should not be protected from being bullied.

Clearly, she needs to consult Galatians 5:22 and 23 in regard to learning that the fruits of divine holy spirit are love, peace, etc instead of this right-wing hate mongering, which is nothing less than blasphemy of the spirit of goodness which according to Mark 3:29 is unforgivable. Possibly she she consider Matthew 7.1 to help guide her on a more constructive path.

    Cheers!
