FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, March 6, 2012

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Ben Quayle released the following statement after legislation he cosponsored, the Border Tunnel Prevention Act of 2012 (H.R. 4119), was reported out of committee by a unanimous vote. The bill increases criminal penalties for constructing, financing or using cross-border smuggling tunnels. Congressman Quayle has been working with the sponsor of the legislation, Rep. Silvestre Reyes (D-TX), to advance the bill through the Judiciary Committee.
“For more than twenty years, dangerous drug cartels have been using illegal cross-border tunnels to smuggle drugs into the United States—74 of these tunnels have been found in Arizona alone. The penalties for those caught constructing, financing and using these tunnels have been absurdly low, and I’m glad to join Congressman Reyes in addressing this problem.
“I have been working to get this bill through the Judiciary Committee, and I’m grateful to Chairman Smith and my colleagues for their support in reporting this bill out of the committee to the House floor. It is time to stop the rampant construction and use of border tunnels and I believe that this legislation will accomplish exactly that when it is enacted”
Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith congratulated Rep. Quayle following the committee’s passage of the bill:
“I congratulate Representative Quayle on the Committee’s passage of the Border Tunnel Prevention Act of 2012. I appreciate his leadership on this important legislation to help combat the construction of cross-border tunnels. Drug cartels will stop at nothing to get their destructive products into the U.S. In the last five years, 40 tunnels have been discovered in California and 74 in Arizona. This bill gives law enforcement officials the tools they need to investigate and prosecute those who construct, finance and use cross-border tunnels.”

Well, at least Ben isn’t trying to plagiarize a bill David Schweikert helped write:
“So Rep. Himes was somewhat surprised to hear that a new bill, sponsored by Rep. Ben Quayle (R-Ariz.) and doing pretty much exactly what Himes’ bill would do, would be part of the GOP leadership’s new jobs legislation package. Rep. Quayle happens to be in a bitter primary fight in Arizona with Rep. Schweikert as a result of redistricting. A person familiar with the matter called Quayle’s bill, H.R. 4088., “a total cut and paste job.” This person said “the only substantive difference is that the Quayle bill does not contain a provision requiring a study of the cost-benefit analysis of the shareholder registration threshold.”
Rep. Himes told M.M: “I just hope this gets done but I would not be surprised to see Republicans stick unrelated things like Keystone or abortion provisions in their package … If it’s a gift [from GOP leadership] to Ben Quayle it’s a strange gift. Because if I was his opponent I might make the point that he was not within a country mile of the work that was done that brought this bill forward.”

No, no, no.
As we all know, if you sponsor a bill it means you wrote it. That you typed out every word and researched every nuance, right?
Of course not, a sponsor is just a sponsor. Someone else always does the heavy lifting. The more important issue is to ask from where do the real authors originate.
It’s interesting that Quayle decided to steal from a democrat.

Ronald Reagan recognized that there is an enemy who is at war with us and that that war was declared by Karl Marx. Reagan warned of being unaware of the tactics of the Communists.
“TruConserv” seeks to dissuade us from opposing “everything” which Karl Marx supported and paints Marx as a benign man concerned that “trains run on time” and for “milk to be fresh”.
Heed the warning of Ronald Reagan. Do not fail to recognize the deceptive Communist tactics of “TruConserv” who is a Marxist posing as a “Conservative”.

TC’s cover is blown. Not by me, but by the hard, objective facts.

Notice, that in typical Marxist fashion, while complaining about “shutting down” threads, TC perpetuates the thread by replying to each and every comment I make, LOL! Here are the hard, cold, facts, TC:

“Lies”, TC? Where are the lies in this, TC?

Lies? Really?! Why don’t you point out to us the “lies” in this:

Ben has been consistently doing a great job for us in CD3. I look forward to Ben’s continual service in our new CD6.
Well its good to know that Ben Quayle’s supporters are pro-government union and post on childish RINO blogs..

The E-Verify rotting in the House is flawed because it contains a Chamber of Commerce amendment which preempts states from enacting their own E-Verify laws and enforcement. If passed, it would gut enforcement nationwide and leave it up to the Democrat/Republican criminals running Washington.
Ben Quayle voted to add this amendment. If this is doing a “great job”, then maybe we should replace him with Salvador Reza. Quayle is a treasonous rat.
This is all fine and good, but why aren’t Quayle and other Arizona congressmen pushing for a floor vote on HR 2885, the mandatory E-Verify bill? This bill passed the House Judiciary Committee in September, yet Republicans and Speaker Boehner have taken no further action. Are the Republicans just blowing smoke (as they have for years) on illegal immigration and opening up more jobs for citizens and legal residents? This issue should be priority one, not issuing zoning violations on rat tunnels at the border.
Ben Quayle, momma’s boy in knickers. Its Quayle season in Arizona.
