I can’t decide if this event is to promote Newt…or Charles.
“The American challenge in leading the world is compounded by our Constitution. Under our system – either we’re going to have to rethink our Constitution, or we’re going to have to rethink our process of decision-making.” -Newt Gingrich, July 1995, Speech to Council on Foreign Relations http://patriothq.com/2012/02/17/let-the-men-of-wisdom-speak
Obama: Constitution is ‘Deeply Flawed’
“Barack Obama, what are your thoughts on the Declaration and Constitution?”
“I-I-I think it’s a remarkable document –“ he began haltingly.
“Which one?” Helfrich interjected.
“The original Constitution as well as the Civil War Amendments,” he replied. “But I think it is an imperfect document, and I think it is a document that reflects some deep flaws in American culture, the Colonial culture nascent at that time. ”

“The American challenge in leading the world is compounded by our Constitution….”
If by compounded he means something like “multiplied” it is tough to disagree with this, and I am thankful if it is true. I believe that any actual attempt to “lead the world” through political or military means is a bad idea, and I am glad the Constitution is there to prevent it.
I think one nation can “lead” the world by other means, without force. Isn’t that what leadership is all about?
