Then just last week the campaign released its first individual testimonial from Gilbert Vice-Mayor and Mother Jenn Daniels.

Each individual in the video series offers a unique perspective and explains how Kirk Adams’s political courage, personal integrity, and conservative principles have had a positive impact on them and why he’s the right choice in 2012.

“As I look to my future, as I look to the future of the American education system and the future of my America…I really am concerned.” says college student Joshua Hoyt,

“Kirk Adams represents a new and kind of exciting faction of the Republican Party,” Hoyt affirms, “The young conservatives like Eric Cantor and Marco Rubio who are committed to conservatism, but bring a kind of youth and life to the Republican Party.”

“I value the America [Kirk] represents,” states Hoyt, “When he goes to Washington, I know he’s the type of guy that will build consensus. He’s not one to lead by pronouncing how it will be.”

“The good thing about Kirk is that he’s not some career politician, he’s not the kind of guy that spent years in Washington and then spent years as a lobbyist.” explains Hoyt,

“But, we need someone who is focused on Arizona, focused on our issues, that’s focused on our state and that’s Kirk.” concludes Hoyt.

Adams is a husband, father, and small businessman. After joining the state House in 2006, he became so frustrated by the unwillingness and inability of Republicans in the Legislature to stand up for their conservative principles that he launched a long-shot campaign to oust the veteran Speaker of the House. Adams shocked the Republican establishment and political class, winning the Speakership at only 35 years of age.

Adams turned the tide in the House and put Arizona back on the path to fiscal responsibility with an aggressive agenda of reform, courageously taking on some of the most challenging issues in Arizona.

Adams, a lifelong East Valley resident, lives in Mesa with his wife JaNae their five children.

Superintendent of Public Instruction John Huppenthal Announces Initiative to Promote Civic Literacy for Arizona Students
ADE to Spearhead New “American Heritage – Arizona Centennial Initiative”

Phoenix, AZ, December 7, 2011– Today, on the 70th anniversary of the attack on the United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Superintendent of Public Instruction John Huppenthal announced a new Arizona Department of Education Initiative designed to help Arizona’s children learn about their rights, roles and responsibilities as American citizens. The new “American Heritage – Arizona Centennial Initiative” will help strengthen our students’ civic literacy as American citizens and learn about Arizona’s unique heritage and the important role that our veterans have played in securing our precious freedoms.

“As Americans, we enjoy our freedom and the rule of law through the visionary documents that our Founding Fathers created,” said Superintendent of Public Instruction John Huppenthal. “As educators, we play a special role in helping our children learn about their rights, roles and responsibilities as American citizens. This is critical to helping each generation sustain and strengthen these values that define the United States.”

This new initiative of the Superintendent’s Office will launch in 2012 in conjunction with Arizona’s Centennial and will bring the tools and resources together for our state’s teachers and schools to highlight important historical and civic concepts during their normal course lessons and will help bring the unique perspectives of our nation’s veterans into the classroom.

In support of the Superintendent’s “American Heritage – Arizona Centennial Initiative,” the Arizona Department of Education will:

  • Create a dedicated page on its website to host partner information and resources that schools can use for lesson plans, curriculum and veteran classroom or assembly visits
  • Design and distribute via electronic media materials for schools to use in conjunction with the Centennial celebration
  • Produce and host on the website video messages from the Superintendent, veterans and historians that can be shown in schools and classrooms
  • Identify opportunities for veterans to be brought into schools and classrooms to speak to students

Opportunities to Participate in the American Heritage – Arizona Centennial Initiative:

February 14 – Arizona’s Centennial
February 20 – Presidents Day
May 1 – Loyalty Day
May 28 – Memorial Day
September 17 – Constitution Day
November 11 – Veterans Day
December 7 – Pearl Harbor Day
December 15 – Bill of Rights Day

“The Joe Foss Institute is proud to be a part of this initiative,” declared Arizona based Joe Foss Institute (JFI) CEO Lucian Spataro, Jr., Ph. D. “JFI offers a living ‘history’ experience by sending Veterans into schools to interact with students, share their stories, teach about public service and each students’ responsibility to be good citizens. Our goal through this program and our online curriculum is to assist educators in teaching the basic foundation of how our government works and an appreciation for the uniqueness of our freedoms.”

“One of the primary reasons for Arizonans to commemorate our state’s centennial is to provide an opportunity for all to reflect on those who tirelessly gave of their time and service to help Arizona become the 48th state,” said Karen Churchard, executive director of the Arizona Centennial 2012 Foundation. “This exciting American Heritage – Arizona Centennial Initiative is a tremendous opportunity to create civic pride in our young people – and teach them the valuable lesson of giving back since they are the future! I applaud Superintendent Huppenthal for this initiative, which furthers our educational efforts for the Arizona Centennial.”

“I strongly encourage all Arizona schools to view 2012, and those days identified, as an opportunity for their students to learn more about the United State’s great heritage, Arizona’s wonderful history, and the brave legacy of the men and women who have served in our military,” concluded Superintendent Huppenthal.

John Huppenthal was sworn in as Arizona’s 19th Superintendent of Public Instruction on January 4, 2011. During his 26 years in public service, he has established himself as one of Arizona’s leading education reformers. As a state legislator, he successfully authored and passed over 200 bills, more bills than any other legislator in state history. A substantial number of those bills focused on improving education. For each of his 18 years in the state legislature, Huppenthal either served on or chaired education committees, most recently as the Chairman of the Senate Education Committee.

Michele Bachmann is running for president to bring a new voice to the White House – a voice of constitutional conservatism, limited government, and a safe and secure America.

Elected in 2006, Michele is the first Republican woman to be elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Minnesota. From the beginning, she has demonstrated bold reform, pushing to fix Washington’s broken ways.

Michele is a leading advocate for tax reform, a staunch opponent of wasteful government spending, and a strong proponent of adherence to the Constitution, as intended by the Founding Fathers. She believes government has grown exponentially, with Obamacare being the most recent example of its uninhibited growth. Michele wants government to make the kind of serious spending decisions that many families and small businesses have been forced to make. She is a champion of free markets and she believes in the vitality of the family as the first unit of government. She is also a defender of the unborn and staunchly stands for religious liberties.

Prior to serving in the U.S. Congress, Michele was elected to the Minnesota State Senate in 2000 where she championed the Taxpayers Bill of Rights. Before that, she spent five years as a federal tax litigation attorney, working on hundreds of civil and criminal cases. That experience solidified her strong support for efforts to simplify the Tax Code and reduce tax burdens on family and small business budgets. Michele also led the charge on education issues in Minnesota calling for the abolishment of Goals 2000 and the Profiles of Learning in its school. She recognized the need for quality schools and subsequently started a charter school for at- ‐risk kids in Minnesota.

Michele sits on the Financial Services Committee (FSC) and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. This experience has given her keen insight into the housing crisis and credit crunch, leading Michele to be a staunch opponent of the taxpayer- ‐funded bailout of Wall Street and the Dodd- ‐Frank legislation. Serving on the Intelligence Committee, she has consistently advocated peace through strength to ensure America’s national security. She has proudly taken a vow to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Our charity of the month for December is “Packages from Home.” Their sole purpose is to provide food, personal care, and recreational items to deployed American troops, at no cost to them. Since March 2005 they have averaged 1,000 to 1,500 packages a month being shipped to our heroes. Their goal is to ship many more. They collect donated items from generous patriotic citizens who live all across America. These items include non-perishable food, personal toiletries, and recreational items like games, books, music CDs and movie DVDs. If you feel inclined to participate in this charity, please bring these types of goods to the event. They will then be given to the charity to be shipped to American Troops. For more information on Packages from Home, please visit their website: http://www.packagesfromhome.org/

We look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday, December 11th 6:00 PM at The Mint in Scottsdale.
