| “Another Daffy Ninth Circuit Ruling” |
| So writes Ed Whelan about this week’s Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decision on an Arizona law regarding domestic partner benefits. The Court upheld a temporary injunction blocking a 2009 bill that limits state employee benefits for dependents to married employees. The law, signed by Governor Brewer, reversed a Napolitano administration order granting employee dependent benefits to unmarried domestic partners.
The majority of Arizonans favor marriage being recognized only as the union of one man and one woman. Arizona public policy as determined by our state elected officials does not recognize sexual orientation or domestic partners as a protected group in our anti-discrimination laws. Yet the Court has sided with homosexual activists and their agenda to make marriage laws meaningless through the granting of legal recognition and benefits to same sex partners. The Court’s opinion is another example of judges making law, not interpreting the law. Determining eligibility of benefits for state employees is a policy matter to be decided by the legislative and executive branches, not by the judicial branch. This battle is not over. I fully expect the Brewer administration to appeal. Please click here to send Governor Brewer an email thanking her for her support and encouraging her to continue the fight to uphold Arizona’s law limiting state employee dependent benefits to married employees. |
| Censored by the Court I want to share with you a little known story behind this ongoing litigation. With CAP as the named party, the Alliance Defense Fund filed a friend-of-the-court brief in this case explaining why it’s important that benefits only be distributed based on marital status. The Ninth Circuit Court refused to accept our brief, even though they accepted briefs from two homosexual activist organizations. |
| California Continues to Fight for Marriage |
| The ongoing legal battle over California’s Proposition 8 marriage amendment had another hearing this week. The legal defense team at Protectmarriage.com argued for their right to intervene in the case on behalf of the 7 million voters who passed Prop 8. Both the California Governor and Attorney General have refused to defend Prop 8. Read the hopeful report from our friends at the California Family Policy Council on the hearing here.
Once again, we see why elections matter, and why it is critical to elect officials that recognize the essential role of the family and marriage in society. It’s unconscionable that duly elected officials are refusing to carry out their duty to defend laws passed by the people. |

The Ninth Circuit frequently has it’s decisions overturned by SCOTUS. With some judges on the Ninth Circuit, this happens so often that they overturn their decisions in batches rather than one at a time.
Um, excuse me, but the story is about “domestic partner benefits”, not medical marijuana. Let’s get off the tangent, shall we.
“Homosexual Pressure Group Turns up Heat on Mesa for Domestic Partner Benefits”
“Earlier this summer, Equality Arizona encouraged homosexuals to move to Mesa, and now it is campaigning for domestic partner benefits with city officials there.”
http://azconserv1.wordpress.com/2009/08/29/homosexual-pressure-group-turns-up-pressure-on-mesa-for-domestic-partner-benefits/
Well, isn’t that something! Equality Arizona encouraged homosexuals to move to Mesa and now we have a recall election of Arizona State Senate President, Senator Russell Pearce.
Will wonders never cease!
Equality Arizona, a gay activist group, encouraged homosexuals to move to Mesa where, obviously, they would be eligible to petition for a recall of Russell Pearce and to vote against Pearce in that recall. The question is, would gay activists have a reason to vote against Pearce? Is there any connection at all between “immigration reform”, supported by Jerry Lewis and opposed by Russell Pearce, and gay activisim? Is there any connection at all between gay activist groups, the Democrat Party and “immigration reform”?
“LGBT groups support boycott over Ariz. immigration law
by Shaun Knittel
EDGE Contributor
Wednesday Aug 11, 2010″
“As the debate over Arizona’s Senate Bill 1070 continues to rage, a myriad of LGBT organizations and activists have come together to demand action under a unified “Boycott Arizona” banner.”
“The National Council of La Raza, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and the Human Rights Campaign are among the more than two dozen groups that have expressed their support of the boycott in their opposition to SB 1070.”

“LGBT-Inclusive Immigration Reform Bill Reintroduced”
“U.S. Senators introduced Wednesday the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2011 which includes the Uniting American Families Act (UAFA), legislation allowing U.S. nationals to sponsor their foreign-born same-sex partners for citizenship.”
“The bill, introduced by Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) alongside Senators Harry Reid (D-NV), Patrick Leahy (D-VT), John Kerry (D-MA), Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY), has a UAFA-inclusive counterpart measure in the House as introduced by Representative Mike Honda (D-CA).”
“‘Immigration Equality Action fund is ready, willing and able to rally the LGBT community, and our families and allies, in support of Senator Menendez’s Bill’, said Rachel B. Tiven, the groups executive director.”
http://www.care2.com/causes/lgbt-inclusive-immigration-reform-bill-reintroduced.html
Then we have this from the “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center” in New York City, New York:
“On Monday, April 26, 2010 the Center joined Immigration Equality, the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) and other organizations to add its voice to the growing movement for immigration reform. The following is the testimony delivered by George Fesser, the Center’s Coordinator of Immigrant Support Services at the hearing held by the New York City Council’s Committee on Immigration for Resolution 162, calling upon the “United States Congress to pass and President Obama to sign a just and humane comprehensive immigration reform bill in 2010.”
http://www.gaycenter.org/advocacy/immigration-reform
Let’s recap:
1 – Equality Arizona, a gay activist group, calls for homosexuals to move to Mesa to turn up the heat on the City of Mesa for “domestic partner benefits”.
2 – By moving to Mesa, homosexuals would become eligible to sign the petition calling for the recall of the Arizona State Senate President, Republican Senator Russell Pearce. They would also be eligible to vote in the recall election.
3 – Gay activist groups across the nation support “immigration reform”, which is opposed by Senator Pearce, and oppose SB1070 which was crafted by Senator Pearce. Senator Pearce has been the national tip of the spear in promoting enforcement of our immigration laws as opposed to “immigration reform”.
4 – Legislation, including both “immigration reform” and measures allowing U. S. nationals to sponsor their foreign-born same-sex partners for citizenship, was introduced in the U. S. Senate by Democrat Senators.
5 – Pearce’s opponent in the recall, Jerry Lewis, states in writing on his website that he supports “immigration reform”, exaclty what the gay activists and the Democrat Party are calling for at the national level.
There is a direct and unbroken link between a gay activist group encouraging homosexuals to move to Mesa, the Democrat Party, “immigration reform” and opposition to SB1070 crafted by Arizona State Senate President, Republican Senator Russell Pearce.
“Nordine Crub says:”

“I seriously hope that Conservative American is trying to be funny because that was the funniest thing I have ever read on SA. When all else fails blame it on the gays who are secretly moving to Mesa. Next thing you know they will be joining the Repubican Party and East Valley Tea Party club and getting baptized into the Mormon Church. All part of the Gay Agenda to destroy the American Family. Hiilarious! Absolutely hilarious.”
Let’s get your comment up here where it belongs, Nordine, instead of having it hidden at the bottom of the page.
We have here yet another object lesson in the basic and most fundamental of Liberal leftist debate tactics.
1 – Ridicule: No matter what your opponent says, not matter what evidence he provides to make his case, ridicule it as preposterous.
Here it is stated directly by Saul Alinksy:
“Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.” – Saul Alinsky, “Rules for Radicals”, 1971, page 128.
““The enemy properly goaded and guided in his reaction will be your major strength.” – Saul Alinsky, “Rules for Radicals”.
Are you a “Radical”, Nordine? If not, then how is it that you are following, to the letter, Rule 5 of Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals”?
So, my fellow Conservatives, the way to deal with Saul Alinsky’s Rule 5, as put into practice here by Nordine, is not to react to it, not to be goaded by it, but rather to expose it for what it is and to expose it’s origins.
“It’s unconscionable that duly elected officials are refusing to carry out their duty to defend laws passed by the people.”
I totally agree. We the people voted three times for medical marijuana in Arizona — yet the Brewer administration is “refusing to carry out their duty to defend laws pass by the people.” I guess the above statement only matters when the discussion fits their agenda.” The hypocrisy here is stunning.
Using the terminology of the Left “That’s not MY Proposition” on “medical marijuana.” How come it took so long to count the votes without any transparency and then voila discover it just squeeked by… meaning at a minimum fully HALF of AZ voters HATE the idea?
But, putting these things to popular vote dodges the DELIBERATIVE vote of voting done AFTER a full and open debate and FACTS can be established, not a run of unsubstantiated sob stories.
Really, who wants to allow the murderous drug cartels legal status by okaying their product? The mary jane users around here are apathetic, listless and disorganized. Who needs more of that around?
Nope, she didn’t fail to carry out anything, nor has she stopped anything. She simply has a duty to protect state of Arizona employees from federal prosecution. If the court rules state employees are exempt in administering this program, it will go forward.
Thank you Paula fir pointing out the hypocrisy. I think what the medical marijuana folks need is a secret agenda like the gays.
Elected officials swear an oath to the constitutions. That includes upholding the law, not necessarily defending it. What they defend is the US and the Constitution. And popular rule? It doesn’t even exist in the US Constitution.
CAP needs to get their political philosophy straight on whether popular rule is something they support as a mechanism to create public policy. Start with the recent elections concerning marriage, gambling, and marijuana and then tell me you’d also like those same people picking your judges.
If it’s good for the goose…
“Phillip the Great says:”
“September 5, 2011 at 10:18 am”
“If you ever get a chance to read the Constitution of the Soviet Union, you’ll see that it reflects many of the principles of the US one. These are all worthwhile examinations.”
“Also, little of the emotion and principles that appear in the Declaration appear in the Constitution, so quoting the Declaration doesn’t really help anyone understand why the Constitution is the way it is and the way we find ourselves today. In fact, the 1787 constitutional convention could have created a constitutional monarchy, a single-chambered legislature, a dual presidency, the abolition of individual states, etc…. you get the picture.”
The difference between the Constitution of the Soviet Union and The Constitution of The United States, Phillip, is this:
“BACKGROUND: 100 million deaths under communism”
“Washington – The planners of the victims of communism memorial dedicated Tuesday in Washington based the figure of an estimated 100 million political deaths under communism on the book by French scholars, ‘The Black book of Communism: Crimes, Terror, Repression,’ published by Harvard University.”
“The 1997 book, hailed by US reviewers as a groundbreaking documentary work, put the death tolls at 65 million in China; 20 million in the Soviet Union; 2 million in North Korea; 2 million in Cambodia; 1.7 million in Africa; 1.5 million in Afghanistan; 1 million in Vietnam; 1 million in the communist states of Eastern Europe; and 150,000 in Latin America.”
http://www.monstersandcritics.com/news/usa/news/article_1316649.php/BACKGROUND_100_million_deaths_under_communism
All of the convoluted Communist arguments attacking, criticizing and demeaning The U. S. Constitution are immediately refuted by the stark and terrible reality on the ground under Communist rule. That is why Communists seek to keep their discussions on an intellectual level and why they want to avoid discussing the so-called “Soviet experiment”.
“The communist ‘brand’ is undeniably sullied beyond reprieve for the vast majority of Americans. Pleading with people to allow us to explain what communism is really about is a pretty useless and time-wasting tactic. The struggle for a better future – a socialist future – does not have to (and should not) always result in a debate about the Soviet experiment.” – C. J. Atkins, Communist Party USA
http://www.politicalaffairs.net/living-in-an-era-of-change/
With 20 million politcal deaths in the Soviet Union alone, there is little wonder that Comrade Atkins doesn’t want to engage in debates about the “Soviet experiment”. “Experiment” is quite a euphemism for something which resulted in the deaths of 20 million people for political reasons.
Under The U. S. Constitution one can dissent and live, a luxury not afforded to those who lived under the Communist Constitution of the Soviet Union.
“Mike Triggs says:”
“September 11, 2011 at 7:22 am”
“It really sounds like our Conservative American Commie hunter needs to start building an underground bunker to hunker down in. May I suggest: The Genesis Pre-fabricated Steel Shelter System. There is no better customizable “living pod” on the market.”
“Called the Genesis Series, this underground shelter system provides protection against a wide range of protections from real or imagined threats such as the gays, liberal Democrats, Latinos and Communists lurking around every Mesa corner.”
“Hunker down! Be afraid! Be VERY AFRAID!”
Yet one more time what we have here is an example of Rule 5 from Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals”. To quote Alinsky himself:
“Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.” – Saul Alinsky, “Rules for Radicals”, 1971, page 128.
““The enemy properly goaded and guided in his reaction will be your major strength.” – Saul Alinsky, “Rules for Radicals”.
You will notice that by using Alinsky’s Rule 5 that Mike Triggs has sought to avoid addressing any of the facts presented in my above comment. “If you can’t beat ‘em, ridicule ‘em!”
There is, of course, nothing to fear from the Communists. It was only a mere 100 million lives that they snuffed out for political reasons. That is not too many lives to sacrifice to promote the leftist agenda. The Red tree of Communism needs to be watered from time to time. I’m sure you understand that it was simply “necessary”.
wanumba- I’d like to introduce you to my
“apathetic, listless, disorganized” cancer patient neighbor. Perhaps she could soften that rock solid heart you have!
WHo decided that “medical marijuana” is the ONLY choice?
I’ve got a hard heart because I happen to think drugs that have been actually extracted properly and tested for delivering proven benefits without degenerative side -effects should be used over random, uneven and haphazard “medical marijuana” dosing? Back to the sob story already?
If marijuana had a proven good use, the drug companies would have extracted the necessary, left OUT the brain-altering chemicals and made it into a nice, standard PILL, with a reliable dosage schedule.
They HAVEN’T. They are NOT stupid. They can get it out, they do it all the time. It isn’t worth it.. and not just monetarily… it doesn’t produce results.
I am in a malarial zone. I do not have to go the tree in the backyard, peel off the bark and boil it for an uneven dosage of dirt and bark-laced quinine tea. They got the chemical OUT of the tree and put it in a PILL. But we are all expected to accept without question a bunch of amateur back yard growers with wildly different plant qualities and questionable handling of insectides and fertilizers are somehow NEEDED and that not a milligram of this “medicinal weed” will end up smoked just for fun ANYWHERE, EVER.
It is NOT believable.
I seriously hope that Conservative American is trying to be funny because that was the funniest thing I have ever read on SA. When all else fails blame it on the gays who are secretly moving to Mesa. Next thing you know they will be joining the Repubican Party and East Valley Tea Party club and getting baptized into the Mormon Church. All part of the Gay Agenda to destroy the American Family. Hiilarious! Absolutely hilarious.
Hey, Nordine, open mouth, insert foot!
“Top 20 Reasons To Recall Senator Russell Pearce”
“He’s a homophobe. Name any piece of anti-LGBT legislation in Arizona, and I bet you’ll find Russell Pearce’s name attached to it. While in the House he introduced the “Parameters of Marriage” Amendment to the State Constitution, which defined marriage the way he likes it and denied benefits to same-sex couples. When it failed in the Senate, he and other Republicans took the argument to voters and pushed for the “Marriage Protection Amendment.” The ballot proposition passed in 2008 and is now, thankfully, “protecting” my marriage from being destroyed by the gays.”

“Wananumba are you Home schooling your kids?I’m sure our patriotic American conservative is home schooling his/her children. God forbid they be exposed to any children of Homosexual parents. What if their children asked a question about Heather’s Two Moms…or why does Juan speak Spanish at Home…or listen to NPR in his/her carpool. You wouldn’t want them hearing an opinion from anyone but Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh. What if their teacher made s hat out of a newspaper…don’t you know that ALL hats are made out of tin foil.”
What’s the matter, Nordine, don’t want to respond to my above quote from Daily Kos, the biggest “progressive” Democrat website on the internet? Let me repeat it for you:
“Top 20 Reasons To Recall Senator Russell Pearce”
“He’s a homophobe. Name any piece of anti-LGBT legislation in Arizona, and I bet you’ll find Russell Pearce’s name attached to it. While in the House he introduced the “Parameters of Marriage” Amendment to the State Constitution, which defined marriage the way he likes it and denied benefits to same-sex couples. Do you consider Russell Pearce to be a “homophobe”, Nordine? Is that what’s bothering you?
Who the heck is this American Conservative nut bag? I’ve a news flash for this bird….”the cold war is OVER!”. The Commies went bye bye. The Soviet Union is more! You need to read something other than John Bircher tracks from the nineteen fifties. Back in North Dskota we had a special place for folks who went off their meds. We affectionately called it “the Nut House”
Yet once again, we see here the use of Saul Alinksy’s Rule 5:
“Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.” – Saul Alinsky, “Rules for Radicals”, 1971, page 128.
““The enemy properly goaded and guided in his reaction will be your major strength.” – Saul Alinsky, “Rules for Radicals”.
Now, let’s demolish Elmer’s assertions, shall we?
1 – Here is the link to the website of the Communist Party USA. As you will see if you click on the link, the “Commies” are very much alive, well and active.
http://cpusa.org/
2 – The Communists have been very busy infiltrating the Democrat Party.
“Our members participate in the Democratic primary process at the local level, volunteer in GOTV efforts, and many take part in the platform-drafting process in their local Democratic committees. More participate in Democratic-aligned outfits such as Organize for America, Progressive Democrats of America, or the Campaign for America’s Future.” – C. J. Atkins, Communist Party USA
http://www.politicalaffairs.net/living-in-an-era-of-change/
3 – The “Commies”, while politically active, are well aware of the need to remain in the background, of the need to “re-brand” themselves and of the need to avoid debating the factual history of “Commie” rule.
“The communist ‘brand’ is undeniably sullied beyond reprieve for the vast majority of Americans. Pleading with people to allow us to explain what communism is really about is a pretty useless and time-wasting tactic. The struggle for a better future – a socialist future – does not have to (and should not) always result in a debate about the Soviet experiment. – C. J. Atkins, Communist Party USA

Yes, Elmer, the “Cold War” is, in fact, over but the “Commies” have not gone away. Can you wrap your feeble mind around that concept or do we need to affix it there with some Elmer’s Glue?
Here’s another one for you, Elmer:
“Official Site of the National Board of the Communist Party, USA”
“Our friend Barack Obama is being attacked; please rise to help me defend him.”
“Sam Webb, National Chair, CPUSA”
Visit the site and read it for yourself:

AC you may want us to think you you haven’t been goaded….but you can’t stand it that there are some thinking folks who read this blog. News flash AC a normal dude would ignore Noreen or old farts like me. But you just keep typing away. Go back to your Clingon Skonsan wackadoodle rants. Oh and by the way there is a rock in Mesa you need to check under for bull dyke lesbians who are out to get your hero. With your brilliance you should run against this Lewis dude when he runs fior re-election. You’d fit right in with Snow White and the dopy dwarfs.
Since you are from North Dakota, Elmer, you might find this of particular interest.
“Mark Froemke is a Minnesota/North Dakota Communist Party USA member and is president of the Western Area Labor Council (AFL-CIO), which represents union members in 11 North Dakota counties and 7 Minnesota counties.”
http://www.keywiki.org/index.php/Mark_Froemke
“The Democratic Party has been a real bonanza for our recruiting. We bring people from the Democratic Party into the Communist Party. Comrade Al Franken has been a pillar of support.”
“Mark Froemke, National Committee Member, CPUSA and candidate for National Board.”
http://cpusanationalboard.blogspot.com/2010/03/cpusa-national-committee-member-mark.html
Oh, there you go again, Elmer, with Saul Alinsky’s Rule 5; ridicule.
Elmer, you’re most welcome, from my perspective, to shoot off your mouth posting here to your heart’s content but don’t whine when you get your butt in the wringer for launching an attack on me. I’m not a pacifist, I’m a Conservative, so don’t dish it out if you can’t take it.
It really sounds like our Conservative American Commie hunter needs to start building an underground bunker to hunker down in. May I suggest: The Genesis Pre-fabricated Steel Shelter System. There is no better customizable “living pod” on the market.
Called the Genesis Series, this underground shelter system provides protection against a wide range of protections from real or imagined threats such as the gays, liberal Democrats, Latinos and Communists lurking around every Mesa corner.
Hunker down! Be afraid! Be VERY AFRAID!
THe topic is marriage and courts and agenda, but suddenly it’s hypocrisy on pot, and Leftists who can’t stick to the subject and start invoking bunkers …for what? The Leftist stereotype for Leftist reasons somehow needs a “bunker” for .. more Leftist presumptions because there’re nothing worthwhile to contribute about the validity of using activist courts to favor one political agenda over all others, a tyranny of the minority.
Any seven-year-old can show up here and blehhhh, “Nynannn – nynann!” They can’t write it though, because our Leftist-run schools decided “facts” and “skills” aren’t their goal, but indoctrination and “emotional” provocations that train people to react hysterically to every problem instead of being able to reason and debate in an organized manner without dissolving into tantrums and name-calling.
Wanumba –
My son goes to public school. He is in the sixth grade. I have yet to witness any of the “indoctrination” you speak of. In fact, it is quite the opposite. He is receiving a well rounded, top-flight education, thanks to his wonderful, but underpaid, teachers.
Zoo –
For the record — not a single employee in any of the states that approved medical marijuana have faced federal prosecution. This was a blatant attempt to thwart the will of the voters for a third time.
Forget “medical marijuana”. The subject of the article is granting state employee dependent benefits to unmarried “domestic partners”. Have anything to say on that subject?
I know you love your son, but do you know every single school in this state is at least two to three years behind all international education standards in math, science, history, and mother language skills, and forget about foreign language? The product our public schools deliver to our children has been completely gutted and will not prepare them to compete with their “global competitors” as our schools LOVE to tell us, intoning pompously about the “global workplace.”
THe public schools are geared to the packaged AIMS, which is designed to feed them into ASU or the other state unis, which look at students a cash cows, not human beings who need skills for meaningful work. AIMs is substandard bilge.
I am being very blunt, because it’s THAT bad. The As are worthless. I have all good will to you and your son, I am telling you that the public schools are cheating him out of his future by not conveying to him the skills he needsto maximize his potential. He’s not alone, which makes it even worse.
How is it that you say are getting exactly what you need from public education, but somehow think it should cost more?
Wananumba are you Home schooling your kids?I’m sure our patriotic American conservative is home schooling his/her children. What if their teacher made s hat out of a newspaper…don’t you know that ALL hats are made out of tin foil.
DO you want to talk to yourself about your stupid hackneyed and completely dishonest stereotype of a Conservative or with a real person?
I just put my kids in a large French school in West Africa. This morning, in fact. The French, old fashioned as they are don’t do “Heather and her self-centered mummies” but MATH and SCIENCE and HISTORY and CIVICS and RHETORIC (in French) but we do expect an easy A in the required English class. The sophmore has to take either German or Spanish also, and has the option for Latin, just like all the African, Lebanese and French kids here, about 3,000 of them, there are probably a couple “Juans” scattered about, probably diplomat kids, but mostly “Falilou” and “Ndiaye” and “Jean” and “Ahmeds” who actually speak Hausa and Arabic at home. My kid got paired off with Abass this morning, his new desk buddy.
In order to stay competitive, we dumped the AIMS math and redid BOTH Algebra I and II, cover to cover in SAXON MATH – on our own dime on our own time, gave up the last two summer vacations to achieve it. SAXON is about the closest one gets in the USA to international math curriculum, and it’s extremely well-organized. Our sophmore at only Algebra I and less than HALF of Algebra II at the time, exceeded AIMS requirements in math, at the third quarter sophmore year, with NONE of the AIMS headaches of poor examples, disorganized presentation, overloading on concept, faiure to reinforce concepts. If your kids are struggling at math it’s not THEM but the AWFUL AIMS textbook which is 20lbs of crap and teachers who don’t know math at all, just how to hand out math worksheets.
If a school is plunking gay-political drivel in front of students, instead of challenging literature that’s going to actually get them ahead, it’s taking time AWAY from academic skills-building that students are SUPPOSED to be getting in class, in order to make them TRULY “globally competitive.” European and Asian students are ALL at pre-calculus maths level by sophmore year ALREADY. ALL of them, not the “gifted” ones like we try to flatter parents into thinking their kids are geniuses simply because they are ahead of the crappy curriculum. Just painting cutesy murals on the wall of globes with kids of many colors holding hands isn’t “globally competetive.”
It’s wall cartoons. There’s no “there” there.
“Heather has two sullen mums” isn’t going contribute ANYTHING to ANYONE gay or straight to get a worthwhile JOB.
I don’t make fun of your nic. Why do you play six grade nonsense with mine or anyone else’s who happens to have a better and more informed reply than your bigotry predicted? Maybe you should get some courage to examine the validity of the premises of the bigotry, not make fun of the targets of it.
Yikes wanumba — I have just been scolded by Conservative American for being off topic. I would love to continue this discussion as you make some interesting points. Perhaps we will have an opportunity on a future blog. BTW — I agree with you about AIMS.
Let’s analyze Paula’s Liberal leftist tactics.
Tactic 1 – Derailing: If the subject is potentially damaging to your agenda, change it. How did Paula accomplish this? She took a quote from Cathi Herrod’s article, used that to change the subject to medical marijuana and launched an attack on Republicans. Here it is in action:
Cathi’s article: “Once again, we see why elections matter, and why it is critical to elect officials that recognize the essential role of the family and marriage in society. It’s unconscionable that duly elected officials are refusing to carry out their duty to defend laws passed by the people.” So Cathi is addressing family and marriage.
Paula’s comment:
Paula Pennypacker says:
September 10, 2011 at 12:19 pm
“It’s unconscionable that duly elected officials are refusing to carry out their duty to defend laws passed by the people.”
“I totally agree. We the people voted three times for medical marijuana in Arizona — yet the Brewer administration is “refusing to carry out their duty to defend laws pass by the people.” I guess the above statement only matters when the discussion fits their agenda.” The hypocrisy here is stunning.”
Paula quotes Cathi out of context, says she agrees with Cathi, changes the subject to medical marijuana and attacks “the Brewer administration”. Now we are far distant from the subject which Cathi was addressing and we’ve managed to get in an attack on the Republican Brewer administration.
Tactic 2 – Splitting: This is just a variation of “divide and conquer” but on a smaller, interpersonal level. The idea is to drive a wedge between two of your opponents. How has Paula put this into practice? She knows that wanumba is interested in debating education issues so she tries to paint me as the “bad guy” who is seeking to thwart that debate. Thus she seeks to create a “split” between wanumba and I.
Tactic 3 – Paint yourself as a victim: You see how I “scolded” Paula, according to Paula. She would “love” to continue debating education with wanumba but I “scolded” her away from it. Poor, poor Paula! Such a victim!
Tactic 4 – Get your opponent to identify with you: This is a technique routinely used by interrogators. How does Paula accomplish this? “BTW — I agree with you about AIMS.” So she now agrees with wanumba. This also serves her attempt to “split”. Wanumba has just gotten her to agree with him and here comes big, bad, Conservative American seeking to refocus the debate back to the subject.
Don’t be fooled by the sweet, genteel Paula who has “always relied on the kindness of strangers”. She is a leftist who is very well versed in the tactics of the left. Paula is a rose… with thorns!
“Paula Pennypacker says:
September 12, 2011 at 9:55 am”
“American Conservative –”
“She is a leftist who is very well versed in the tactics of the left. Paula is a rose… with thorns!”
“Attacking the perceived enemy — not sure what I ever said to deserve that attack — but Soul Alinsky would be proud of you.”
That’s not an attack, that’s a statement of fact. Did you or did you not take Cathi Herrod’s words about family and marriage out of context, apply them to medical marijuana and then take a shot at the Republican “Brewer administration”? Taking a sentence about marriage and family and applying it to medical marijuana is disingenuous and somehow you managed to end up with a shot at a Republican administration.
While you want to go on talking about education, medical marijuana and other issues, you still have not addressed any of the issues in Cathi Herrod’s article. Would you care to speak to any of the issues raised there; dependent benefits for state employees who are unmarried domestic partners, the refusal of the Court to accept a brief from the Alliance Defense Fund while accepting two briefs from homosexual activist organizations, the status of California’s Proposition 8, the Faith in Action Tour?
You said this: ” We the people voted three times for medical marijuana in Arizona — yet the Brewer administration is “refusing to carry out their duty to defend laws pass by the people.” I guess the above statement only matters when the discussion fits their agenda.” The hypocrisy here is stunning.” Proposition 8 is specifically mentioned in Cathi Herrod’s article. The Democrat Governor and Attorney General of California have refused to defend Proposition 8, which was passed by a vote of the people, because it doesn’t fit their agenda. Is that stunning hypocrisy or is does stunning hypocrisy only apply to Republicans?
No yikes. We can all be on the same page and talk about the activist 9th Circuit always ruling the most convoluted reasoning to common sense cases in order to further their political agendas, not to actually adhere to the Constitution.
Less thn 1% of the population gets fewer than a dozen justices to stall, overturn or block the will of the majority of people. Tyranny of the minority.
Do you still not have anything to say about granting state employee dependent benefits to unmarried “domestic partners”? I’d be very interested in hearing your opinions on that subject, Paula.
Oooooh CA is typing away at 3:48am scolding Paula…..does that man ever sleep?
Hey, Mike, didn’t you say that you support homosexual “marriage”?
American Conservative –
“She is a leftist who is very well versed in the tactics of the left. Paula is a rose… with thorns!”
Attacking the perceived enemy — not sure what I ever said to deserve that attack — but Soul Alinsky would be proud of you.
CA – it is just a matter of time before SCOTUS comes down on the side of EQULITY. It may not be the Roberts Court but it will happen.
And the sun will rise in the East and set in the West the next day.
Like the knuckle draggers of the 1960′s who fought so hard to prevent inter-racial marriage, eventually you will just have to get over it.
Ah yes, that wonderul Liberal crystal ball which always predicts victory for their causes, LOL!
If that happens, the sun will set on personal religious freedoms too.
ROFL!!! And there we have it, folks! The attempt, once again, to link homosexual activism with the Civll Rights Movement!
Now don’t plagiarize Gavin Newsom. If you are going to use his stuff, at least give him credit.

That was Democrats, right? The ones who put that sort of racial laws in during the late 1800s and perpetuated the same thinking decades into the modern age by the knuckle-dragging likes of DEMOCRAT Robert KKK Byrd. DId I mention DEMOCRAT? WHooo filbustered the Civil Rights Act SO BAD that Martin Luther KIig the REPUBLICAN CHristian, second generation CHRISTIAN PASTOR had to take to the streets to unite popular support against the DEMOCRATS?
OMG Mike you knuckle dragger comment had me spraying iced coffee out my nose and mouth I was laughing so hard. It caused quite the commotion in Starbucks a few minutes ago.
Be Nice to the knuckle draggers!
But we are nice to you! Here, here’s a bandaid for your knuckles.
You support Russell Pearce, right?

That why I don’t go into Starbucks. Liberal nostrils spewing overpriced burned coffee everywhere, especially a waste since it took so long to get it served in the first place.
@Conservative American,
Paula never answered your question on how she fared regarding granting dependent benefits to state employee survivors. Perhaps she reckoned you could not comprehend and she did not wish to waste her time or for whatever reason of her own.
Let me give you some thoughts to ponder. The State grants benefits to dependents of State employees and those dependents might be males or might be females, as long as they meet the criteria of “Dependents”. Right? Of course I am right.
Now that we have taken the gender issue within the question of what is or what is not a dependent out of the equation, why would the male dependent of a male employee of the State fair any different from the female dependent of a female employe of the State or a male dependent of a female employee of the State or a female dependent of a male employee of the State differ from any gender specific dependent of any gender specific employee of the State?
It matters not as far as $$$$ are concerned. Survivor benefits are calculated based on employees, not on the gender of survivors.
Gender does not matter and it should not matter!
That is unless folks like you and the puppeteers of CAP insert “Marriage” as they define it as a prerequisite of eligibility for such benefits. The emphasis is: AS THEY DEFINE IT.
Generally I do not resort to shouting when I post. As they DEFINE IT, meaning marriage, clearly illuminates the mindset of the Biblibans, you included, of the 21st century. Essentially they are not significantly less Stone-Aged than their cousins the Taliban. They deny evolution and cling desperately to whatever wisdom they perceive they got from the writings of men like Levi, permit me to digress I am not talking about Levi Johnson who immaculately spermed Bristol, the queen of Christian abstinence; Oh What Wonderful Family Values right there in Alaska.
No I am talking about LeviTicus, and other [so called] great writers who walked the earth 6000 years ago not knowing they walked on something that was round and spun around itself and it was not the center of the universe and it was not dark in its beginning but it was as bright as the fireball over Hiroshima or a billion time brighter; and it started with the big bang.
@Paula,
You can’t win with nut jobs like CA and wanumba. Save your energy for something more worthy.
I know this is worthless advise, it is cheap advise, I do not charge for it, it is free.
Well, you’ve covered everything from the Taliban to Biblibans, from LeviTicus to Hiroshima in your rambling, incoherent post. Let’s see if we can simplify things a bit. You support homosexual “marriage”. Is that right?
Horst:

“The Lord hangeth the Earth on nothing.”
Physics has found nothing wrong with that simple, yet totally correct statement. In contrast to the earth on the turtle, earth on the back of an elephant, earth held up by ATlas …. they’ve all passed away, but our astronauts looked back and found the “earth hangeth on nothing.”
@Conservative American,
I admire your sharp perception. I abhor your’s or CAP’s or any other group’s meddling in private living arrangements of other individuals. The Rights of any and all citizen, to enjoy life and liberty absent criminal actions must not be abridged by Government or self anointed groups.
If this, as you put it “Support homosexual marriage” then I support “Homosexual Marriage”. Do I need to put it on my Face Page Profile? or does it suffice that under “Religion” I simply listed “Secular Humanist”
Please keep your cards and letters coming.
The question is a simple one, Horst. Do you support homosexual “marriage”?
CA – Talk about the pot calling the kettle black….you are the master of rambling, incoherent posts….SA used to be a delightful read until you arrived monopolizing this blog. Paula Pennypacker is a bonafide blogger. You my dear man are a bonafide Commie/HOMO focused blow hard.

This is an example of Nordine’s posts. I don’t think that any comment by me is necessary, LOL!
Time to differentiate “civil unions” versus “marriage.”
Most Americans pro and con to homosexuality can accept “civil unions” for gays that allows them to share assets, healthcare they pay for, insurance… it is a legality of couple before the STATE. Most people are willing to accept, “not my business,” “live and let live.” Many gays are fine with this.
“Marriage” is a RELIGIOUS TRADITION. Marriages are conducted according to RELIGIOUS TENETS of the various RELIGIONS. The construct, vows and ceremnoy of MARRIAGES have RELIGIOUS significances which reflect the beliefs of the believers, most importantly that the two being married are acceptable in their union to GOD.
Christianity is NOT the ONLY religion on the planet that has no scriptural support for allowing gay marriages, it is the ONLY one being attacked as being “unreasonable.”
UNreasonable is having everything you want and still demanding someone else forsake their religion because you want more.
Gay marriage by definition is a direct attack on the freedom to practice one’s religion without being harassed or being under real threat of imprisonment and punishment. Politically radical gays want religious believers to renounce God by caving to pressure to forsake their beliefs and be complicit in approving what God has stated very plainly He doesn’t approve of.
It isn’t about “loving” anyone, gay or straight. It is intolerance to the extreme, especially blatent in that many gays are perfectly content with the “civil union” legal status and aren’t part of this campaign.
If gays want God’s approval, then they have to do what everyone ELSE on the planet who has sought God’ approval has done, and has to do to get God’s approval, conform to HIS laws, not the laws of men. Anyone can come to God as is, with only one requirement, willing to be transformed by God to God’s standards in the process.
WHat a peculiar situation: certain gays want the church stamp of approval on their unions, by “marriage” to ostensibly demonstrate to the world a tacit approval by God, while refusing in all other venues and circumstances and personal comportments to obey God’s word. They can read, they know what they are doing, and they know what they are demanding:
to pressure religious leaders to commit the one thing God won’t forgive, denying God before men.
Mr. or Mrs. Wannumba, from what I just read it appears you are on now on record as supporting Civil Unions for Gays and Lesbians.
Do you know that puts you at odds with Cathy Herrod and the CAP?
Can you show me where I am on record as supporting Civil Unions?
Just checking your reading skills.
I assume the misspelling of my very simple nic is a simple typo, so I won’t assume anything disrepectful about that.
AS far as being at odds with Cathy Herrod and the CAP, she doesn’t have any requirement to validate me nor do I have any requirement to validate her. The ISSUE stands on its own and is to be evaluated on its own merits.
I would actually not have any complaint with a platonic love civil union. Anything else gets into communicable disease vectors which I cannot support as being healthy for ANYONE who wants a long life without unnecessary physical degradations. Life’s tough enough without adding physical stresses above and beyond what the body is built to handle, right? One of many things I don’t recommend, like heavy drinking or habitually driving recklessly when one can hurt oneself and others by such behavior. ALas, “platonic” is being sold as too old fashioned or quaint or “not possible” even though it offers ALL the love without the complications.
If someone loves another person so much, they’d do anything for that person right? Like abstain from practices that might hurt that person? That IS love isn’t t? Denying the selfish self for the good of another? Is it love to use another person for one’s own gratification, with no care as to what is good for the other?
