Legislation Offers Path to Balanced Fiscal Policy

Washington, D.C. – Republican Congressman Jeff Flake, who represents Arizona’s Sixth District, today praised House leadership’s decision to bring legislation focused on the “cut, cap, and balance” fiscal strategy to the floor next week.

The bill will cut spending in FY2012 by $111 billion, cap annual spending at 19.9-percent of gross domestic product by 2021, and will require the passage of a balanced budget amendment before raising the nation’s debt limit.

“The cut, cap, and balance bill is our chance to put policy in place that will help us climb out of the fiscal hole we’re in. This is the right plan at the right time,” said Flake.

Tell us how much will your Dream Act cost us? How much will you cap and trade cost us? How much will your immigration reform cost us? Only when he is being cheap with our service members is Flake a fiscal conservative or making a big show over 1% of the budget in the form ot earmarks. And before I get screamed at, I am not endorsing earmarks, but are getting rid of them more important then stopping social services to illegals?

Flake violated his term limits pledge. Now he expects to be handed a Senate seat. He’s pro gays in the military. For crap and trade. For amnesty. Aint got a shot in our primary if we get a good challenger to take him down with a-nuff cash to run a few strong ads.

    Not Enough.

  4. Oberserve says:

“Cut, Cap and Balance” = increase our grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s debt by 2.5 trillion and double the governments size from a % of GDP perspective from where it was pre-WWII to 18% of total GDP (not counting “emergencies” – which practically everything is.).

If the cut were down to 10-12% of GDP that might be more acceptable, but 18%?

WHAT ARE YOU MR FLAKE A DEMOCRAT?

  5. amattclarkson says:

Yeah, Jeff. How dare you try to accomplish the politically possible! We didn’t send to you Washington to make as large as cuts as possible. We wanted you to only vote for the maximum amount of cuts needed to drop government spending to pre-Civil war status. I mean, let’s be real…that was the last time states could do what they wanted. Oh yeah, I know you tried to make your point when you voted “No” for that initial GOP budget that only cut $61 billion, but that was different. Budget talks have moved much further along than those days. (Best if read with as much sarcasm in voice as possible)

  6. And your going to run for our Senator’? Your not going to get my husbands and my vote. You have deminstrated just where you stand, and as far as I’m concerned its blackmailing the The United States of America. the Republican Party and the American People. . Which side were you on when Bush raised the dept limit 18 times when he was in office Jeff???? Where was your concern about a balanced buget through his whole term.
