Update on this post as of June 16th: Several of our readers brought to our attention that in February, the Arizona Board of Medical Examiners conducted an investigation of Goodrick and released its findings in a document available online here. According to BOMEX’s Findings of Facts, Goodrick, “reported to Board Staff that she had taken Fentanyl from her office for her personal use and that she may have a substance abuse problem.” The Board’s Physician Health Program Contractor also “determined that Respondent [Goodrick] was not safe to practice due to her health issues and recommended that she attend a chemical dependency evaluation.” BOMEX then place Goodrick on probation for five years.
I remained stunned that Phoenix Magazine would still publish this article!
==============================================================
My wife picked up the latest issue of Phoenix Magazine today and was shocked to read a disturbing and disgusting puff piece on a local Phoenix abortionist. The article is entitled “The Provider” and it is hitting mailboxes today.
The abortionist, Gabrielle Goodrick, proudly and readily admits that she performs about 40 abortions a week. That’s over 2,000 babies a year!
The article even mentions several pieces of pro-life legislation that were recently passed and signed by Governor Jan Brewer including legislation that prohibits abortions based on race and sex.
I’m not going to take the time to repost the entire article but you can view a copy of the images below.
Phoenix Magazine and Jessica Testa, the author of this article, ought to be ashamed for glorifying and presenting this practice in such a positive manner.
As a board member of a local crisis pregnancy center, we have to pick up the pieces for women who go through an abortion. Many of them carry the tragic burden of an abortion the rest of their lives. We have to help them try to heal after undergoing an abortion.
According to CamelbackFamilyPlanning.com, the website for Goodrick’s practice, she charges the following for the abortions she conducts:
Doing the math on performing 2,000 abortions at the rate of $460 (the cheapest rate at 5-11.6 weeks), Goodrick is paid around $920,000 a year! I guess you could say that Gabrielle Goodrick is really “making a killing” doing abortions here in Arizona.

“…when you do abortions it kinda takes over your practice because there’s such a need.”
That’s ONE explanation. The other is everyone else who values medicine as a healing service avoids her like the plague. A “warm, hearty laugh” and wearing pink while making bank off killing babies is a contradiction too far for most people.
I can’t get a root canal for the prices they charge.
The reason she can do this so cheaply is because there is no accountability for the quality of care and there is ABSOLUTELY no follow up care (Except for scented candles, low lights and mood music).
Emergency rooms are filled with young girls and women who have to be cared for post abortion for complications. I do not beleive there is sufficient and accurate reporting of this because of the shame of the aborted women and the protection medical personnel want to afford the aboritonists.
The legislature could do more to demand that Arizona more carefully monitor the care that clinics must provide and also demand that reporting of post abortion complications be accurate and that emergency rooms have to report both the complications and the origin of the abortion for which they must now remediate the damage the abortionists do.
Delivering live babies is criminally expensive because of over-regulation and litigation, but killing babies is cheap because it is protected from both regulations, reporting and accountability.
I have an earlier copy of PHOENIX Magazine on my desk right now. It will be the last I ever buy. Ever. Disgusting.
Too bad the author didn’t bother to check the BOMEX page on the good doctor. An entry dated 2/9/11 states she is on probation now and will be for five years for drug addiction. Lots of details in the report for anyone who cares to engage in some real journalism.
Boy, business must really be bad for Camelback Family Planning, aka Jackrabbit Clinic that they would have to produce such a fiction. This article is an untruthful depiction of Dr. Goodrick and her practice. I canvassed this area a year ago to do proper research for a sidewalk counseling ministry in which I am involved. When I asked if I was able to come in for a strep culture, I was referred to a peer doctor down the street because they aren’t accepting family practice patients. Dr. Goodrick’s employees advise potential abortion clients that 10 week old fetuses do not have “any fingers and toes” Wa? AND that patients should not go onto the internet to get information about abortion. (Wait, I thought women actually didn’t want to be kept in the dark about their health choices??) Dr. Goodrick accepts cash only for abortions–how’ that for transparency and, last we looked, does have a BOMEX case pending against her. Sanctions against her practice include the inability to administer Fentanyl to her patients for pain. Boy that would be an interesting journal entry? The sidewalk counselors/prayer warriors are on the street in front of her clinic at least twice per week and probably more often now, thanks to this disgusting piece.
Thanks to my “Brother in Life” John Jakubczyk for this column he wrote back in February: http://jakubczykonlife.blogspot.com/2011/02/arizona-medical-board-restricts-phoenix.html
