With plenty of drama in state and federal government, this week we’re asking who is doing the best job governing.
Here’s your chance to vote and comment on who is doing the best job. Sonoran Alliance is widely read by state and federal elected officials and we’re sure they’d love to read what your’re thinking about how they’re doing.

I wish we could have voted for more than one in the Friday Poll, as I feel the House and Senate Republicans have both done a heros job of handling the Budget.
Can you change the question to “Who is governing the WORST?”
None of them are governing best, because none of them follow the constitution either at a national or state level.
So, I can’t vote for any as the question stands now.
Oberserve,
Just comment who is governing the worst right here in the comment field. They’re going to read it and it will get picked up. Your comments will be worth more than you realize.
Normally I would pick Arizona Democrat legislators as the worst, but since they’ve essentially been emasculated given the overwhelming Republican state legislature, I will need to pick US Senate Democrats tied with Obama as the worst.
Clearly the dems are hands down the worse. However, that’s no compliment to Republicans. Every time you hear one say, “Isn’t their a role for the government in the economy?” you are listening to a practicing communist speaknig regardless of their political party registration.
Read the 10 planks of the communist manifesto. I bet not one person who posts to or reads the Sonoran Alliance can exclude themselves from all 10.
Like it or not, that makes you a practicing communist. Think about it.

Don Carter are you crazy? You think the people that have been waving and smiling from the run away train for the past 4yrs, 8 yrs (take your pick of how long) have done a good job? Just cause its politic to take a “hard stand/ line in the sand” stance in 2011 doesnt excuse the drunken sailors (including Republicans) that have been voting for and adding to the deficit for many, many years.
After your kids have been on a drunken, coke snorting binge for a few weeks, and then they stop and say “I’m going to sober up now”, Don must be the kind of guy that say “oh, what fine children I have”.
OR maybe I have missed the point and Don is being enourmously sarcastic.
US House Republicans can not flinch in their spending reductions! $61 billion in a $3 plus trillion budget is nothing — but it is a step in the right direction to begin to fix the obscene spending of Bush’s last two years and Obama’s unprecedented spending spree since his election.
Controlling the federal deficit/spending is the tea party’s signature issue — let’s get it done! Obama promised to reduce the federal deficit by half by the end of his first term — his actions this week speak differently. Another broken promise!
Paula, you should get your own blog, where you can also use all the extraneous punctuation and shout out all the needless cheerleading you like. I know, I know, this blog is baiting you because it says it’s “…widely read by state and federal elected officials…” Still, please try to mature yourself into something helpful.
Speaking of officials, is anyone else bothered by non-anonymous posts from politicians and wannabes, complete with a professionally taken portrait? I always liked SA because with personalities and ambitions kept out of it, we seemed to give (and get) more thoughtful remarks, and we never knew who we were talking to. We treated everyone with the respect their comments deserved.
Lou –
Thanks for the advice but I do have my own blog and have had one for several years. In fact — I use the same profile photo as the one above. It is published on the azcentral.com web site — you may want to check it out.
Not a single one of our congressional delegation had the guts to say “no” to the Boehner compromise. Obama just got reelected and the tea party movement has ZERO credibility now. My hat goes off to Congresswoman Michele Bachmann.
There is one major issue the Republicans have not adequately addressed, and that’s reaching the public in the same comprehensive manner as the Democrats do. Yeah, the Democrats have a media monopoly, but lo! it was Sarah Palin who trail-blazed into FACEBOOK and TWITTER to get around that stone wall. Now look at the herd stampeding after her once she showed the way. There’s a lot more communications ground to explore and conquer.
There are many Conservative and Republican blogs out there, but the critical mass needed of people who get their news, info and commentary from the internet and blogs hasn’t yet been reached. We still have to deal with the majority of people geting their political views formed by crafted political comments voiced by entertainment shows – on the View, on MTV between segments, during sports chatter, cooking shows, chidlren’s programming, evening programming …the magazine rack at the supermarket check-out has not one remotely Conservative or Republican narrative amongst hundreds of publications … a stunningly comprehensive marinating of the public in the correct way to think.
Many Americans get their news from sitting at places like McDonalds eating their lunchs, with the big TV blah-blabbing in the background. The MSM media rhetoric is now designed to deliver up short phrases to get the narrative out to those who are only paying half-attention between bites. Small town papers – thousands of them across the country unquestioningly subscribe to monopolies like AP to fill out their papers, guaranteeing nearly 100% saturation of the nation in ONE VIEWPOINT, ONE POLITICAL VOICE. Look at the typical search .. three hundred different newspapers, blogs and they’re ALL drawing off usually verbatim, the SAME wire story. It’s the illusion of variety, one story out of one writer repackaged under a thousand different brands AP doesn’t spend much anymore for real reporting. They rely on stringers who often have poltical goals in mind when they concoct stories disguised as boots on the ground reporting, and no one checks. How hard would it be to assemble a news product that was more accurate and cheapers than the feeds local papers have access to now? There is no competition. Past time to create one. Unlike Democrat who run to statism, Republicans run to entrepreneurial, tap the ingenuity, pull some of the disparate elements out there and create a cohesive source.
The GOP needs a dedicated media arm to crank out the message in a wide range of forums – skilled, talented, savvy and KNOWLEDGEABLE to provide as an accessible to the public collection of conservative and Republican ideas and proposals as the Democrats have through their monopoly of media, print, radio and network.
Palin has demonstrated it’s possible through the new mass communication structures, and it shouldn’t be expensive. In just TWO years, Palin’s national audience has gone from zero to eclipsing that of staring lecturer Katie Couric who has steadily lost audience duriing the same time period and is now being dumped for her epic fail in driving CBS into the loss leader.
Palin, literally on a dime, has achieved MORE in audience growth and audience loyalty than CBS could with celebrity window-dressing and a budget of $$millions. CBS did everything money could buy except serve up the truth with solid reporting. People may not know the real story, but they detect a fake, a lecture, and walk away.
The time is ripe, NEWSWEEK and TIME exist on subsidies, not on sales, emaciated versions of their once robust selves. ALL the major networks are struggling, needing subsidies to cover steady losses. The customer is so unhappy, they aren’t buying. The existing local papers are a vast continent-wide land of opportunity, waiting to be conquered.
The public is weary of the drivel, but the antidote isn’t readily available so they have no means to discover something new, something that makes sence.
It’s past time to be a competitive presence in the media.
Lou – What the heck are you talking about “non-anonymous posts from politicians and wannabes, complete with a professionally taken portrait?”
Also perhaps someone out there can tell me if Russell Perace ever produced the proof we need to show he didn’t go to those games for FREE. I listen to FOX news and read the SA…..but haven’t heard anything except the receipts are coming. WHEN?
Also why isn’t anyone saying anything about Planned Parenthood today. It looks like Harry Reid and Nancy P got a leg up on the Republicans. Correct me if I’m wrong. So much for hanging in there on principal!
