Comments

  1. Don’t forget to bring your coin jar. There will also be a bake sale table in the parking lot.

I can’t wait to see more great fundraising ideas that will come out of the Morrisey/Haney leadership.

Here’s a fundraising idea: Stop sticking your finger in the eyes of McCain, Kyl, Flake, and the rest of the Republican delegation.

  2. Pragmatic Conservative says:

The way this is percieved is that the Dem’s get $10 and we get $10. This can’t be true but the perception is real.

  3. Living My Principles says:

I would go…love good food & drink, but don’t want a dime of my money going to the Democrats! I work too hard for it.

  4. What’s the deal? If attendance is 80% Republican it’s still a 50/50 split?

  5. Voted for Morrissey says:

Who is doing the debating? Why unnecessarily trumpet dimocrats and elevate Clinton this way?

  6. TruGrassroots says:

    Embarrassing.

  7. We have some which Morrissey is a part of who don’t want to work with a segment of our party who are Republicans because they are seen as too moderate. But yet under his leadership the AZ GOP agrees to have a fundraiser with Democrats? Insane.

  8. Really? I mean, really? What the hell is the AZ GOP thinking on this one? It isn’t democrats we need to court, it’s the Independants and Hispanic voters. This is ill conceived theater.

  9. Tom Waters says:

This is embarrasing. I think someone should
go in with a hidden camera and expose the
Republicans who go. I would love to see if
any of our elected officals go. That would
be a slap in the face to us Republicans.

  10. Karen Wilson says:

LOL! Tom Morrisey does not like McCain
because he supports Obama but he will go
to this fundraiser? Tom, Obama is a
Democrat. I am so embarrased! I agree
with Tom Waters, I would be curious what
Elected officals and County Chairman will
go? I am so embarrased. Did I mention, I
    am embarrased.

  11. Travis, is the back sale for the governor so she can put a new roof on the dome?

  12. Oh Really says:

Are we afraid to be in the same room as Democrats, or have we just never heard of a Super Bowl fundraiser? I don’t have inside information on the event, but I’d think even a schoolkid could figure out how it’s going to work: You pay your $20 for admission and say whether you’re for Reagan or Clinton, and your money goes to the party identified by your choice. Then you hang out, eat and drink, and do whatever else people do during happy hour. At the end of the event, the restaurant declares the “winner” — that is, whichever one drew more participants.

Just like any other restaurant fundraiser or competition. The restaurant gets foot traffic and the participants get money. Given that it’s a brand new restaurant downtown, it seems obvious that they came up with the idea and approached the GOP with an offer of “free money” in exchange for a one-time email blast. Will it bring in big bucks — naw, just little ones — but does it do any harm? Only if Democrats really do have cooties, and if cooties are airborne. Somehow I think we’ll all be ok.

Oh, Travis and myview? It’s obvious you don’t know jack about what Morrissey’s really doing. He’s been reaching out to everybody and working positively from day one. Maybe you’d like to join that effort someday.

  13. Pragmatic Conservative says:

    Oh Really,
It is all about perception and communication. The way it is printed points to it’s perception and a lack of communication.

If you have no “inside knowledge” you are guessing but are probably correct.

  14. #12 – Indeed I do know what Morrissey is doing. He said it at the election (bake sale). He said it on TV. He said it in emails. We know exactly what Morrissey and Haney are doing.

The proof is in the pudding – or in this case, the bank account. That’s Jack. And that’s what I know.

  15. True Conservative says:

Actually I don’t think anyone at the AZGOP knew about this event. It was set up under the previous chairman.
