We’re 15 days away from November 2, 2010, and seeing growing momentum for GOP candidates. In Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District, Young Gun candidate Dave Schweikert is challenging Rep. Harry Mitchell in what Politico calls one of the “hottest House races in the country.”
The growing national debt weighs heavily on our nation’s economic future, and is causing economic uncertainty. Rep. Mitchell and the Congressional Democrats have let the debt explode, especially with their record of passing trillion dollar bills like the failed stimulus and the government takeover of health care. For Dave, restoring fiscal discipline is his priority.
Unlike Rep. Mitchell, Dave won’t be a rubber stamp for more spending and more debt. He’ll work to reduce spending to get our fiscal house in order without job-killing tax hikes. Also, Dave pledged to repeal the health care law and replace it with reforms that empower patients and not Washington bureaucrats.
The former county treasurer and state legislator has a track record of being a strong fiscal conservative. It impressed The Arizona Republic so much, they endorsed Dave over the incumbent Democrat:
Schweikert, a former Maricopa County treasurer, is a financial guy. He enjoys poring over a spreadsheet the way most people dive into a good novel. What’s more, he’s a deficit hawk. After the budget excesses of the past 10 years, we need people in Congress who will challenge every penny of spending.
Dave is also winning the support of the voters:
“I’ve seen it in my family and friends who have lost their jobs or had their hours cut at work,” said Goldenetz, a process engineer for Intel who plans to vote for Schweikert. “I know three people whose homes are in foreclosure. The economy doesn’t seem to be getting better, and the Democrats in Congress have done more damage in the last year and a half with all their spending and taxes and regulations.”

We need strong conservatives in the house like David. The spending is out of control and Thanks Rep. McCarthy for your strong statement in support of David.

Harry Mitchell has not voted to represent the values and principles of our district and for his campaign to declare that he is “bi-partisan” or a “blue dog” is just non-sense. His bi-partisan votes are on matters of procedure (e.g. not approving the Speaker’s minutes, not allowing a bill out of committee, or not voting for adjournment, etc.) In fact, had he voted for adjournment a bit more, maybe we would not be facing the tremendous deficts and indebtedness that his healthcare votes, stimulus votes and bailout votes have brought us. Harry must go!
This race is really getting a lot of attention nationally. The DCCC really thinks mithcell has a chance they just bought another 360k in ad buys…
We really need to step up for David!
Also it seems like we need to worry about Quayle… the whole dirty scottsdale thing is biting him in the ass, there is a PPP poll with him LOSING. Which would really hurt the GOPs chances of taking the house.
We need to have these new congressmen in a gop majority not a closer minority!

Thanks to the congressman for supporting our local conservative warrior. The same themes against Mitchell and his liberal voting record continue to resonate: he voted for the stimulus, the bailout, the health care bill and increased taxes. He can’t fool the voters anymore. Forget the personal (and wholly inaccurate) attacks upon David Schweikert – the Mitchell campaign is built on keeping the voters from focusing on the issues. One can see why. Keep up the good fight, David. Just 14 more days and we start to take this country back.
We need to vote David in. We need a strong conservative in Dist. 5.

Congressman Mitchell has rallied in the polls and has a great shot to win, that’s why the DCCC is pumping money into the campain. If you actually read the Republic article, it says a lot of great things about Harry: that he is bipartisan and gets things done. That’s what CD-5 voters will see. Harry FTW.
Congressman Mitchell is getting more support as election day gets closer. The DCCC is noticing that and giving more money to support his campaign. I cannot wait to have him represent us for another two years. CD-5 needs Congressman Mitchell to stay!
Mitchell is union owned and supports ObamaCare. He was a mediocre teacher and is an even worse Congressman. He’s a nice guy when he mows the lawn, but it’s time to hold a retirement party for him. Enjoy your 4 government pensions paid for by our tax dollars.

Schweikert: Smart, Proven Conservative, Supports liberty, experienced businessman, seriously wants to downsize Federal Government, Committed to lower taxes,Supports the 2nd Amendment, and ready to take the hatchet to our totally out of touch Budget!!
Mitchell: Out of touch, unable to communicate with his constituents, a complete and total SOCIALIST, voted 100% with Obama, supports ObamaCare (and the death squads), believes we need more government spending, afraid to meet the voters in a town hall meeting face-to-face, has nothing to add but one more vote for any/all Democratic bills. And he hates anyone who supports the 2nd Amendment (Right to bear arms!)
Now….which one do you want to truly represent us in Washington and to get us back on track as a free nation!
David Schweikert is exactly right person to put in Congress (along with many other like-minded people) to regain sanity in Washington and deny the attempt by our Socialist Obama (and not even eligible for the Presidency) to completely change our society and way of life. This election is WAY MORE important than most, we need every intelligent person, both Republican and Democrat, to put Harry Mitchell out and elect David Schweikert. This is not even a close race if you can understand the complete and total difference of these two people.
Make sure you vote and make sure all of your friends and neighbors vote. Ask them if they need a ride to the polls and then make sure you are there to provide.
Let’s all work together to restore sanity and freedom to our country. Let’s vote for David Schweikert!
