It should come as no surprise that John McCain’s spokesman was the Research Director for Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection.
John McCain has no problem hiring individuals who fabricate falsehoods and spins it in a way to fool voters. That’s what’s happening in Arizona and if John McCain pulls off a re-election bid, he can thank Brian Rogers.
Here are several excerpts from Rogers’ political rounds:
Here’s a curious development for you: Brian Rogers, spokesperson for John McCain’s presidential campaign last year, is now working for Al Gore.
Rogers sent an email dispatch on Friday announcing his new job as research director for Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection. In the email, Rogers said he will be “working on the Repower America campaign to pass comprehensive energy and climate change legislation.”
On the campaign trail last year, Rogers’ shining moments included attacking Barack Obama for opposing increased domestic oil and gas production, arguing that Obama lived in “a frickin’ mansion” that was “bought in a shady deal with a convicted felon,” and insinuating that Obama is an “arugula-eating, pointy headed professor-type.”
I guess we’re supposed to say something about strange bedfellows here … (Grist.org)
And,
And when McCain press secretary Brian Rogers said last week he was leaving to work for Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection, fellow McCain aide Michael Goldfarb declared, “Everybody knew Rogers was a tree-hugger, but I didn’t think he’d take it this far. He’s dead to me.” (The Hill)
And,
McCain’s director of communications Brian Rogers is now 0 for 3 and his job security is looking bleak. Rogers is pounding away with the press releases two and three a day regurgitating as many of the same attacks over and over. He is being ignored. The press releases are being deleted without being read. The credibility of McCain’s people with their so called exclusives and early releases “just to you” are falling on deaf ears. The press knows Rogers has gone as wide as he could to every outlet on the list in Arizona. The only people listening is MSNBC, the leftist buddies of Rogers throwing him a bone because he did so well for Al Gore. (Tucson Citizen)
