The Group behind McCain and Deakin Attacks on JD Hayworth

By Captain Dreadlocke and RAP

Numerous persons ‘involved’ with the ‘other’ Arizona senate campaigns have posted on  blogs throughout Arizona, that J.D. Hayworth was named by C.R.E.W- Center for Responsibility and Ethics in Government as one of the most corrupt candidates in 2010.  Well, Who is “CREW ” and WHAT are they all about?  Are they what they sound like, an organization committed to ethical government and responsible conduct, or is there more to know regarding this group?

Well one of the best sources for such information is David Horowitz, a former ‘Red Diaper Baby’ (A child of Marxists) and his website, “Discover the Networks” – A guide to the Political Left.

http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/groupProfile.asp?grpid=7309

According to David, CREW was established in 2001 by far left Democrat activists who see themselves as a counterbalance to the conservative leaning Judicial Watch.  They describe themselves as, “…as a ‘nonpartisan’ public interest group that litigates and brings ethics charges against ‘government officials who sacrifice the common good to special interests’ and ‘betray the public trust’.” Hmmm, so they’re looking to protect the public, eh?  Not so fast, there’s much more to know.

In reality, according to Discover the Networks,  “CREW’s ultimate purpose is to use ‘the rule of law to bring about constructive social change’ in a manner the organization likens to the 1960s civil rights movement. The ‘social change’ sought by CREW is the transformation of America into a nation that more fully embraces leftist values and policies.”   In pursuit of this goal, “…CREW strives to discredit conservatives and Republicans it deems vulnerable to attack, with the objective of decreasing their numbers in political offices nationwide.”  SO, THIS IS THE GROUP John McCain and Jim Deakin uses to discredit JD Hayworth!?  That says MUCH MORE about those two senate candidates than anything about JD!

CREW has received financial backing from groups such as George Soros’s Open Society Institute, The Tides Foundation, The David Geffen Foundation and The Barbara Streisand Foundation as well as several other institutions that are noted for supporting far left causes.

Many C.R.E.W officials have ties to the political left.  Melanie Sloan, the groups Executive Director worked for Charles Schumer, John Conyers and Joseph Biden.  Other officials also have ties to the political left such as Media Matters and ACORN.  Naomi Seligman, a former Deputy Director who had formerly worked for Media Matters was quoted in Wikipedia as saying “We are Progressives. We work within a large progressive infrastructure.”

How apropos that McCain would be very comfortable with quoting this group!

In March 2002, it was reported in “The Hill” a weekly newspaper, that “House Democratic Leaders are honing in on an election strategy to taint the entire Republican caucus by demonizing Majority Leader Tom DeLay Rep. TX.”  Shortly thereafter CREW sent out letters to all Democrat House members in an effort to get someone to file an ethics charge against DeLay. Texas Congressman Chris Bell, who had just been defeated in a Texas Democratic Primary, volunteered.  The House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct investigated and found Bells accusations against DeLay unfounded. Melanie Sloan told the Wall Street Journal, “Since I started [with CREW] the main thing I wanted to do was go after Tom DeLay.”

The group prides which themselves in initiating litigation, also took on the legal case of Valerie Plame and her husband Joe Wilson against Vice President Cheney, Carl Rove and Lewis “Scooter” Libby.

The group also led other campaigns to discredit President George W. Bush among them was to tie the administration and many other Republicans to Jack Abramoff.  Ironically they never mentioned Abramoff’s connections to many Democrats.  To quote Mark Margolis and Mark Noonan of Townhall.com on 1/1/2007, “Several Democrats have participated in trips paid for and/ accompanied by Abramoff, including Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS.), Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC), Rep. Michael McNulty. (D-NY) and Gregory Meeks(D-NY).  They also reported that Harry Reid also received some $68,000 in donations from the Abramoff firm, partners and clients.

CREW also wanted Sarah Palin and the Republican Party to be investigated because of the party’s purchase of the clothing she wore during the presidential campaign. The group consistently targets Republicans primarily the most conservative ones.  Since it began compiling and publishing a list of the worse and most corrupt elected officials in 2005 until the present; Out of 116 officials named by them 82 were Republicans  and only 34 were Democrats.  On their most recent list of the worse Governors listed were 9 Republicans and 2 Democrats.

Even in an article written shortly after the death of  Jack Murtha, D-PA, titled “A Profile in Arrogance” in which CREW’s Melanie Sloan is quoted criticizing Murtha as the “King of Pork”; CREW is described as a group “… which reserves most of its criticisms for Republicans.”

http://frontpagemag.com/2010/02/17/a-profile-in-arrogance/

Prominent left wing radicals and groups funded by the likes of George Soros have targeted the most Conservative members of Congress, the ones they know they cannot buy.  However it appears like a few    progressive Republicans elected officials may be neutralized when they receive funding from Soros etc. for the foundations and “Institutes” they chair.

Were does that leave J.D. Hayworth?

Having been listed this year on CREW’s report J.D. joins some of the best and most conservative Republican elected officials in the nation, such as Bobby Jindal, Marsha Blackburn, Haley Barbour and Roy Blunt.

From a conservative Point of  View, that is a list  JD Hayworth can be proud of having a very prominent place!

Interesting, but not surprising, to see the hidden hand of the subversive “left” behind attacks on real conservative candidates like JD Hayworth.

You can know a man better by his enemies.

The next 17 days are going to be the best part of the JD Hayworth campaign to oust McCain and reestablish some consistent conservatism, while surfing the popular wave of change and discontent with Maobama and Co.

    Fight on!

Soon, John McCain will be singing the blues!

Soon, John McCain will transform into a Grover Muppet: http://tinyurl.com/3aj523x

Great write up, and not at surprising!

Progressives have been honing their war on America for a good 40 years now. They are well funded, well organized, and pretty much, control the MSM

Another group you should look into is ProPublica – http://www.propublica.org/ another Soros funded group and headed by Herb Sandler – the sub prime mortgage king. They write “investigative” pieces that are then sold or used by major media outlets

  3. Even a broken clock it right twice a day. While this group is almost always wrong, they are correct about JD.

  4. WE all noticed that they tried to evicerate Sarah Palin for wearing campaign-supplied clothes, as if Katie Couric or anyone else in a profession that requires a certain public image, has to pay for their on-air or ANY such professional wardrobe. That is, why wearing their own freebie outfits, the media cynically picked it up to harass Palin with it – knowing full well it was crap.

The McCain campaign, which SHOULD have had Palin’s back, 100%, didn’t use all those “24 years of Senate power and connections and media influence” to shut the attack down.
Scurried like cockroaches for cover, leaving Palin to have to deal with the totally manufactured and cynical attacks herself.

Fortunately for her and the country, Palin is made of tough stuff. The real deal, not the phony back-stabber type.

  5. Michael Holliday says:

Soon McCain will be fishing for crawdads in Sedona with Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer.

Soon Deakin Donuts will be having coffee and pondering a career outside of politics, while brushing the crumbs off his shirt.

Soon JD Hayworth and Co. will be flying the American flag of conservatism high and mighty into Washington DC to reclaim our great and proud state from the usurpers.

Soon the illegal alien criminals will be heading for the border from whence they came, faster than you can say Whisker Crumbachitos: http://tinyurl.com/2ukcfgb

The tide is changing, the righteous indignation of the exhausted, jobless Arizona taxpayer will be felt en masse.

Here’s a picture of a McCain advisor after their defeat at the hands of JD Hayworth in a few weeks: http://tinyurl.com/35a3mt2

See him scampering to and fro to make sense of the disequilibrium and shock to his system? Whimsicality writ large!

Luckily, the Hayworth camp will be happy to supply some post-victory refreshments to the McCain camp to help them regain their composure from their catastrophic defeat at the polls.

  6. LOL! This is funny considering that DSW (who is a paid JD staffer and the owner of this blog) routinely quotes left wing Democratic attacks on John McCain from the Presidential campaign in own attacks on John McCain.

Yet another example of double standards by the JD hacks. They dish it out but cry, cry, cry when they get it back…

  7. Michael Holliday says:

JD Hayworth, Tea Party Heavy Weight Champ of them all!

    Looky here: http://arizonateaparty.com/senate_tea_party_support.html

As John McCain reads this and feels that slumping feeling, remember that the same feeling McCain is experiencing over losing the Senate race is the same feeling the average Arizonan feels as he watches John McCain run to implement amnesty through comprehensive immigration reform for the criminals that have invaded our state and nation.

John McCain would not fight Maobama for the presidency and will not fight illegal alien amnesty or support a proper interpretation of the U.S. Constitution to preclude anchor babies of illegal, criminal aliens from becoming U.S. citizens.

Hence, John McCain has no one to blame but himself for losing the Senate race.

I do salute him for making his “yes men” political consultants wealthy in the process. McCain’s campaign advisers are living proof that incompetent and out of touch establishment types can still make a living off of incomprehension and illusion.

I’d also like to thank John McCain for spending $16 million on the local economy and helping win back some local business from illegal aliens in the process.

You see, JD Hayworth always knew he was going to beat McCain. That John McCain was his own worst enemy.

The trick was to get McCain to spend as much of his $$$millions$$$ on defeating Hayworth in order to help out our local economy.

So far, the strategy has been a resounding success. The campaign has been a resounding victory for our local economy and for JD Hayworth because it just solidifies JD’s position even more while boosting McCain’s spending on local businesses.

Every night I sleep like a baby knowing that JD is closer to victory.

Every day my joy increases knowing that soon our state will be free of criminal illegal aliens by the hundreds of thousands.

Every day I dream of Deakin Donuts sipping coffee and pondering his new career as a short order pastry chef at Skip’s Donut Hut in Chandler.

Every day brings me closer to the JD Hayworth for Senate victory over the forces of illegal criminal alien anarchy and confusion and darkness and La Raza fanaticism.

    Viva la Haworth revolucion!

    Viva la Haworth revolucion!

    Viva la Haworth revolucion!

  8. you know who says:

Real Clear Politics average of all polls:
Poll Date Sample Glassman (D) Hayworth (R) Spread
    RCP Average 4/12 – 7/29 — 38.3 38.0 Glassman +0.3

  9. one more thing says:

Poll Date Sample McCain (R) Hayworth (R) Spread
    RCP Average 6/22 – 7/21 — 56.7 27.3 McCain +29.4

  10. Michael Holliday says:

    The important thing is to:

    1. Ignore the polls. They serve no useful purpose any more. They should be considered spurious, at best.

    2. Drive on even harder and capture even more JD Hayworth victory votes these last two weeks.

I will say it again, the polls are like Moodys, Standard and Poor’s and Fitch’s rating services that gave resounding A+ ratings to companies that crumbled into the dust the next day: that is, they’re wrong in our new climate of voter outrage!

This is John McCain’s last stand!

All the polls, all the multi-millions of dollars, all of the attacks and all of the establishment personalities couldn’t put Humpty McCain back together again.

Let this be a lesson to the kind of change that’s coming to America. Positive change. If you support people like Maobama, you’ll be voted out.

Next idiot to go should be Bloomberg of NY City for agreeing to the outrage of a Mosque near the sacred ground of the Twin Towers.

Every politician, media personality, whoever, should be rejected for rejecting the will of U.S. citizens in accepting the Mosque.

You are right, they are wrong!

How do you tell a liberal from a conservative? Where do they stand on the Ground Zero Mosque. Period.

Go with your gut feelings and instincts. You know they’re right!

  11. Hayworth is clean – have him vet his Tea Party endorsements for us – provide the legal standing each and everyone has to endorse and influence a federal election – before the election.

The following is my opinion based on my and the research of others concerning the 16 Tea Party endorsements Representative Hayworth has accepted.

Hayworth’s official endorsements excluding #1 & 2 from out of state leaving #3 – 16 (in state) appear to be the work of 5 people ‘per my source’ and my research.

Found is reasonable cause to question money flow (Follow the Money) within at least one of the Tea Party Groups so far.

One Tea Party Group appears to be registered as a 501c3, 501c4 and a 527 PAC. Group activities appear to take place under the 501c3 banner enjoying the privileges of tax free status. Other activates are conducted under the 501c4 banner, both expenses appear to be paid by the owners personal credit card. Reimbursements are paid from the c3 & c4 to the individual who owns the 527 PAC – PAC is funded – gives endorsement.

Hayworth knows all about PAC’s, how long was his wife paid from his?

  12. CharlotteW says:

JPD, why lie now. You know as well as I do that JD’s wife worked for his PAC for 5 years for $20,000 per year. That is not an excessive amount, and if I had a PAC I would wnat someone I trusted handling it for me, but I am sure Deakin would never hire Adonia?

As far as the Tea Party’s are concerned, you are just mad they would not endorse Deakin the failed businessman who can not handle his own finances. A so called businessman who is in bed with the Incumbant Candidate John McCain, how much is “Friends of John McCain” paying Jim Deakin to stay in the race?

  13. Michael Holliday says:

As JD Hayworth gains more steam and supporters in his march to wrest Arizona from the irresponsible John McCain, he is simply too delighted, happy and focused to answer every silly criticism.

However JPD deserves a response from me in my frivolity and whimsicality and merriment.

JPD: Hayworth is clean – have him vet his Tea Party endorsements for us – provide the legal standing each and everyone has to endorse and influence a federal election – before the election.

Me: Yawn…num, num. JD Hayworth is driving on to victory. Many Tea Partiers have decided to join the party. They come of their own free will, joie de vivre and frivolity. They know a good time when they see one, and they know a good American too!

There are three kinds of people: (1) those that make things happen; (2) those that watch things happen; (3) and those that say, “what happened?”

My guess is that you’re a number three-er. You have no idea what just happened. JD gained the support of the Tea Party, no one else did! That’s because JD is a consistent conservative, the others aren’t.

My advice to you is put down your anger and self-styled Constitutional superiority and join us in taking back Arizona from John McCain and his traveling band of illegal criminal alien sympathizers.

If you don’t you may very well end up looking like this: http://tinyurl.com/29okb9v

Me: Instead of spinning your wheels and whining about JD’s increasing support from Tea Party members, you should put down your anger and give Hayworth your unconditional love and support. All of your assertions will go nowhere. They are simply wastes of good energy.

You are turning into this kind of person: http://tinyurl.com/2u2z3f4

Me: Spippedy Pippedy Dee…the mouse ran up the tree… What are you talking about?
You’re chasing the dragon. There’s not enough time for you to be wasting your energy trying to peg JD Hayworth with any unwarranted behavior or casting aspersion on good Tea Party members.

No Santa toys for you this year! You are just going batty with trying to uncover conspiracy to do wrong, when none exists except in your imagination! You are John McCain’s best friend, definitely not the friend of the people of Arizona.

Your actions speak louder than words. Instead of being constructive and supporting JD Hayworth you are being counterproductive and pouting like a big baby!: http://tinyurl.com/24jnbey

Join JD Hayworth in taking on McCain. This way you’ll get to be on the winning side and dance and sing and eat Fritos and snack cakes on VH Day (Victory Hayworth Day)!

Me: Two thousand years of payments. His wife became the wealthiest woman in the universe because of JD’s affiliation with the PACs. She know owns the Moon, and bought half of the sun from K-Mart.

  14. Miss Mary I'm coming home says:

Just a few days before early voting starts in the Aug. 24 Republican primary, a new Rasmussen Reports poll finds GOP Senate challenger J.D. Hayworth in dire political straits: He is 20 percentage points behind incumbent Sen. John McCain.

Rasmussen has consistently shown the McCain-Hayworth race closer than other pollsters. And while his lead is not as wide as the one in a recent Behavior Research Center poll, McCain is still handily beating Hayworth 54 percent to 34 percent.

The third GOP candidate, Jim Deakin, was not named in Wednesday’s poll, but 7 percent of respondents preferred “some other candidate” and 6 percent still aren’t sure. The automated telephone poll surveyed 595 “likely” Arizona Republican primary voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 4 percentage points.

The Rasmussen poll also reflects Hayworth’s ongoing struggle with his own unfavorable numbers: only 41 percent view him favorably as opposed to 56 percent who view him unfavorably. McCain’s numbers 62 percent favorable vs. 37 percent unfavorable. Only 16 percent said they viewed Hayworth “very favorably”; double that number — 32 percent — said they viewed McCain “very favorably.”

  15. Michael Holliday says:

    Here’s the real poll deal:

Just a few days before early voting starts in the Aug. 24 Republican primary, a new Rasta Mousy Reports poll finds GOP Senate challenger J.D. Hayworth kicking political buttocks on the minds of the voters looking for change. He is 587 percentage points ahead of incumbent Sen. John McDang!

Rasta Mousy has consistently shown the McDang-Hayworth race to be a huge slap in the face to McDang and his overpaid bevy of silly consultants, con artists and groupies, with Hayworth capitalizing on the popular anti-illegal criminal alien frenzy and sending John McDang packing to Sedona to fish for crawdaddies and crawmommies with Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn after he loses the race and retires.

While his lead is not as wide as the one in a recent Behavior Research Center poll, Hayworth will still trounces McDang handily beating him 554 percent to 4 percent.

The third GOP candidate, Jim Deakin Donuts, was not named in Wednesday’s poll, but .005 percent of respondents preferred “some other candidate” and .006 percent still aren’t sure if they want to sip coffee with Deakin or beat on the John McDang pinata at the JD Hayworth Victory Celebration Extravaganza Party!

The automated Rasta Mousy telephone poll surveyed 59,500 “likely” Arizona Republican primary voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 4 percentage points.

The Rasta Mousy poll also reflects McDang’s ongoing struggle with his own unfavorable numbers: only 1 percent view him favorably as opposed to 856 percent who view him unfavorably, as an unsavory amnesty for illegal alien candidate.

McDang’s numbers are 2 percent favorable vs. 937 percent unfavorable. 850 percent said they viewed Hayworth “very favorably”; double that number — 1659 percent — said they viewed McCain “very unfavorably” and “very politically unsavory.”

The Rasta Mousy poll indicated Arizonans wanted 100 percent to see a John McDang, pro-amnesty for illegal aliens pinata beat to a crisp by a bunch of happy kids, as they watch candy and treats come tumbling out like popcorn, in joy and merriment after the JD Hayworth win in the primaries!
