JD’s use of Susan Bradford, Abramoff “groupie” and apologist, proves his desperation

Not many people have listened to Susan Bradford in her years long effort to get some traction behind her belief that Jack Abramoff is innocent.  Her personal mission to clear his name has evolved into a book designed to reveal that Abramoff was innocent and framed!  Framed, I say!  She calls herself an investigative journalist.  She has plenty of Abramoff apologies on multi-user open websites but her personal website is no longer operational.

If Ms. Bradford is to be quoted, then it is only right that the readers of this site have a full view of her perspective.  Ms. Bradford’s enamored status of Mr. Abramoff has been going on for sometime.  So much so , that she felt compelled to write on his behalf.

In Bradford’s letter to the judge, begging for leniency in Abramoff’s sentence, she described him as “noble, enterprising, and creative…”

Two out of three ain’t bad.

She goes on to write of his love of country, fight for freedom, and his devotion to the conservative movement.  It all was a “whirl of activity” that caused him to “lose sight of the fine print” and that he ”perhaps stopped paying attention and made some bad decisions.”

“Perhaps” he made some “bad decisions”…?  Really! Ya’ think?

But if you thought her plea for his sentencing was just to take it easy on the guy…you are wrong.  She didn’t think he should be punished at all!  So much so that she said in her letter:

Yes, he clearly broke the law, but hasn’t his unmitigated public humiliation around the world and decimation of his character been enough punishment?

OK, hold on because it gets worse.  She sees this guy as the remedy…not the epitome’ of the problem.  Don’t send him to jail, Your Honor…oh, no because according to Ms. Bradford:

Mr. Abramoff can do so much more good outside of prison than within it.

I’m not making this up.  The guy who is the poster-child for campaign corruption, who obviously felt his end justified his means, should be allowed to take a walk?  Because he will “fix” the problem?  How, by using his “enterprising” and “creative” ideas?  I think we already saw that in play…..maybe this is when the “noble” comes in.

And now, the Hayworth campaign is using the distorted perception of this woman to attack Jim Deakin and tie him to McCain in rambling writings and a graph that looks like people playing “The Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” on crack.

The only thing this proves is that JD has not broken his connection to Abramoff.  He clearly is still on the side of the guy who provided him with tens of thousand of dollars, all paid to JD’s PAC.  What’s more…Team Hayworth doesn’t see why that is the wrong message to send to voters.

This sort of desperate and distorted effort will only serve to cement the notion that Hayworth cannot accept responsibility for his own bad acts, sees a boogey man behind every corner, and has no filter when his own self interest is involved.  For whatever good he has or may be able to do, the voters will never trust him again.

They just showed us all why.

This remindeds me of a game I like to play, it’s the “6 degrees of Jack Abramoff” game.

Ok, I’ll go first, ready? JD Hayworth:

    JD Hayworth->Jack Abramoff

ding ding ding, I win. Yay me.

  2. Jacklyn M. says:

    remindeds? haha

  3. DSW says:

    Molly,

You do know that none of these people are associated with the JD Hayworth 2010 campaign?

I’m also on the record as NOT subscribing to the Deakin-McCain conspiracy theory and I AM associated with JD’s campaign.

Furthermore, there is NO connections as you assert! JD was vindicated by the Department of Justice in this entire matter (proof)

    Case Closed.

  4. Radical American Patriot says:

Typical McCain/Progressive tactic: Ad Hominem attacks and ignore the substance of the article. Why don’t you just say Ms. Bradford is from D.C., that should really nail down her argument!

You are again being totally disingenuous and make false claims. Perhaps you’ll resort to the typical McCain tactic of bullying and threatening those with whom you disagree.

The real connection is McCain’s rewarding those who ‘play ball’ and abuse of those who dare to stand up to him.

Answer the critical questions and quit lying to the people who dare to question the Progressive McCain!

  5. Radical American Patriot says:

Mollly, you are LYING about Ms. Bradford by saying she believes Abramoff to be innocent! In her letter that YOU link, Susan states, “Yes, he clearly broke the law…”

She goes on to describe that much of the funds went to fund Jewish schools. Tainted money? Sure, but NOT according to the tribes themselves! Abramoff is still a hero to most of them.

Abramoff’s real crime appears to be trying to ‘horn in’ on McCain’s game. Did he EVER get slapped down! McCain really doesn’t like the competition!

  6. DSW,

I don’t know everyone who is or isn’t associated with the campaign. I do know what I read and the post invoking Ms. Bradford is meant to discredit both Deakin and McCain. The obvious recipient of that good grace is Mr. Hayworth. Just read the above comment from the author! It is clearly an attempt to give credit to Hayworth by using a Pro-Abramoff “writer” and paint the other two as evil.

No one would ever think my posts are designed to draw voters to either of the other two candidates. I am clearly on Team McCain. The person who submitted the post is clearly NOT supporting McCain or Deakin. Anyone using an Abramoff apologist and supporter as their voice should realize it is not the way to distance the candidate from the connotations it produces.

You know that I am not associated with the campaign as a paid anything…I am a volunteer. However, are my words not a part of the representation of my candidate?

This is no different. JD supporters have become so desperate in their attempt to destroy McCain, and now Deakin, that they will cozy up to a representative of Abramoff.

    déjà vu.

    RAP,

I actually posted the very thing you cite and then she went on to beg for his release. Perhaps in the “whirl of activity” you, too, have lost sight of “the fine print”. She has said he was “framed” and believes he was innocent of the charges of which he was convicted.

    But…have a good day.

    Obviously I’ve hit a nerve.

JD has never accepted responsibility for his behavior. Now, at least one of his supporters is using another denial expert to do the same.

  7. JPD says:

Hayworth’s Tea Party endorsements are worthless.

Any one individual can endorse any candidate they like at the state and federal level, but when two or more endorse or imply they are endorsing a federal candidate, or when the endorsee implies an endorsement from two or more, that endorsement action falls under IRS Regulations for 527 PAC’s as actively intended to influence the outcome of a federal election – simple enough for you?

RAP – why hasn’t McCain paid Deakins mortgage if he is on the take. Seems it more like Hayworth is being paid to take a dive to make sure Deakin doesn’t win.

    Too silly.

  8. DSW says:

As I’ve said, I don’s subscribe to the Deakin-McCain conspiracy theory.

What I do believe is that Deakin is just plain egotistically delusional. The guy has never done anything politically the entire time since he got out of the Navy.

Essentially, Jim Deakin is a political opportunist looking for a job in a failing economy.

  9. CharlotteW says:

Molly, McCain does not like being held up to ridicule. McCain really does not like being proved wrong or having people disagree with him. McCain went after JD in Congress for writing the Tax Cuts of the Bush administration, telling all who would listen “they were for the rich”, Mccain was very upset with JD for not agreeing to vote for Amnesty and writing the book “WHATE VER IT TAKES”. McCain approved the jerimandering of JD’s dist allowing a DimocRAT to capture that seat. McCain ran the most pathetic Presidential Campaign, I believe he knew he could never win so he made a deal with Obama the Maoist. But John McCain was not satisfied with that, he went after the Private citizen JD Hayworth got him fired from his job as KFYI’s drive home moderator. What a disingenous power hungry open borders Amnesty promoter McCain is, he is running this time to pick his successor, none other than Jeff Flake the other RINO. McCain thinks we are stupid, he should retire now and allow a real Consistant Conservative, JD Hayworth to become our next Senator, but no, we are finding out just what lengths the failed Senator who ran for President twice but the American people were not fooled again, will go to to hurt the citizens of arizona.

JPD, Jim Deakin is out this race, he is a McCain plant and it is all coming out. Jim Deakin thought he could run out the clock on his scheme to lower his mortgage, oh ghee such a real patriot and a man of ethics. He has you fooled, he is trying to get a discount mortgage and you are not seeting the forest for the trees. Too many people know that Jim Deakin is another RINO in sheeps clothing, pretending to be a Patriot, but I guess deceiving mortgage compaines does not count, I guess lying about JD wanting people to get off Deakins petitions is still not deceiving you enough, or giving you his itinery for the border after he was told not to give it out. Deakin is dangerous and you are his lacky.

  10. Radical American Patriot says:

Molly, NOW you are displaying the psychological order called “Projection”! McCain has engaged in a three month campaign of lies and slander directed towards JD Hayworth, with all his millions left over from his miserably failure of a presidential campaign. The ONLY bright spot was the selection of Sarah Palin and all of McCain’s henchmen hung her out to dry!

So, instead of whining about Susan’s blond hair or some other alleged ‘fact’, WHY DON’T you focus on real facts.

    1. Prior to F/Y 2008 Detek, Inc. had NO government contracts. Liberty Fire Protection had only a paltry $4,780. Then in the year ending JUST before the election Detek suddenly had $637,241!
    2. Jim Deakin had already decided BEFORE the 2008 election that he was running for the US Senate.
    3. Jim Deakin’s boss and chief Counsel at the Tyco subsidiary Grinnell, Gardner G. Courson, WAS McCain’s Special Counsel on the McCain ’08 campaign!
    4. Regardless of MORE than adequate personal funds, (See the post about his refinancing practices) he invests virtually NONE of his own money into the campaign; runs NO meaningful fundraising campaign, maintains a constant drumbeat of attacks on Hayworth, and NOT McCain!

And you want everyone to believe that Deakin is a legitimate candidate!? YOUR defense of Deakin makes me think, “Thou dost protest too much!”

So Molly, I know that you won’t ‘connect the dots’; I JUST HOPE the 800 pound gorilla in the room doesn’t sit on your pretty little head!!

    Steven Robinson AKA RAP,

So it’s Jim is broke or it’s Jim is rolling in dough? Is he losing his house or is he ditting on +$600K? You only get to pick one of mutually exclusive choices. For those lovers of boolean logic this is an exclusive or choice. Which is it?

You need to use different blogging styles and unaffiliated names if you are going to contradict yourself between threads.

  13. JPD says:

DSW has four other user names as well.

  14. Stephen Kohut says:

    JPD,

The problem with people trying to vlog under mltiple names is that their writing style is difficult to change. You can trace Steven Robinson with both eyes closed. Just have to listen for all the YELLNG!

  15. JPD says:

Hayworth is clean – have him vet his Tea Party endorsements for us – provide the legal standing each and everyone has to endorse and influence a federal election – before the election.

The following is my opinion based on my and the research of others concerning the 16 Tea Party endorsements Representative Hayworth has accepted.

Hayworth’s official endorsements excluding #1 & 2 from out of state leaving #3 – 16 (in state) appear to be the work of 5 people ‘per my source’ and my research.

Found is reasonable cause to question money flow “Follow the Money” within at least one of the Tea Party Groups so far.

One Tea Party Group appears to be registered as a 501c3, 501c4 and a 527 PAC. Group activities appear to take place under the 501c3 banner enjoying the privileges of tax free status. Other activates are conducted under the 501c4 banner, both expenses appear to be paid by the owners personal credit card. Reimbursements are paid from the c3 & c4 to the individual who owns the 527 PAC – PAC is funded – gives endorsement.

Hayworth knows all about PAC’s, how long was his wife paid from his?

  16. Jim's Shipmate says:

“JD was vindicated by the Department of Justice”

and JD kept the cash – big money, I love it!

  17. Jim's Shipmate says:

“JPD, Jim Deakin is out this race, he is a McCain plant and it is all coming out.”

    CharlotteW,

Today is the primary and you are out of touch with reality. If you have some source post them otherwise you’re just blowing smoke. Did McCain pay you to blow that smoke?

  18. Jim's Shipmate says:

“drumbeat of attacks on Hayworth, and NOT McCain!”

Have you heard Jim Deakin speak. He talks about what he’s for and paints JD and McCain as the same candidate. They both try to be conservative during elections but instead of balancing a budget, they both like spending our tax dollars. Likewise they talk up border security. They were both in Congress – where’s the fence? But it’s a priority now, for real, no kidding. Just keep voting they way you have, things will change. Change you can believe in.

  19. Patricia says:

I am a Saginaw Chippew, Jack did no wrong to our Tribe, legal documents from our Tribe prove it, and that of filings with the IRs or our dealings with him. You may hate him, we don’t. Read, Read, please Read Susan Bradfrod’s book Lynched. Than understand we are Indian, not what the United States Government is doing to the Latino, Muslin now, or others.

  20. Honestly, I don’t deserve all the attention. Shows what can happen in the age of the Internet. Yes, I am an author. My book, Lynched, is out now, in case anyone is interested: http://www.susanbradford.org.

No, I was not working with the Hayworth campaign — though Hayworth supporters did invite me to appear on their radio programs. One of them was, unbeknownst to me, working for BOTH the Hayworth and Deakin campaigns — and took a little blog I wrote about Deakin on SmartGirlPolitics and reposted it on his blog in an effort to force Deakin to drop out of the race. That was his agenda, not mine.

I was then invited on shows where the hosts didn’t use the clips I provided or even talk about the issues we had agreed prior to my appearance. So, if I offered an opinion, that’s all it was.

I did not broadcast my book prior to its release because of all the political attacks I had sustained over the course of writing it. What happened in Arizona should give you a taste of what I and many of my sources have been subjected to in our efforts to bring forth the truth about the Abramoff investigation. Yes, it has gotten uglier than what you read on this board.

As for JD, I have no feelings about him one way or the other. He was co-chair of the Congressional Native American Caucs, as I reported in my book.

I endorsed no one in this election — even when asked. I merely pointed out that Deakin wasn’t as “independent” as he appeared to be, that he was a spoiler, as many others observed. Why my opinion even mattered in this political race is beyond me — thank the Tuscon Citizen, which decided to put me front and center.

The reporter in question demanded an advanced copy of my book to prove I was a “real reporter,” failing wihch he would slander me all over Arizona, accusing me of being a book “tease” to get me to relent. I didn’t feel I owed him, a stranger, a draft of my manuscript just for the asking, nor did I even seek him out to publicize my book. He did that all on his own — and I frankly wish he hadn’t.

I am sorry for the unfortunate chain of events which occurred after a light hearted blog I posted was made into a state wide issue. No, I wasn’t put up to writing it by anyone. I had no vested interest in the outcome of the race.

As for how could anyone defend Abramoff, please read my book, Lynched, and decide for yourself, if you are so inclined. Prosecutorial misconduct is more rampant than you might think. . Yes, Abramoff is innocent and served time in prison for crimes he did not commit. Yes, he was set up for criminal indictment on trumped up charges. The outrage I read on these pages should be directed towards the systemtic issues that allowed this to happen — not the reporter who wished to shed light on an injustice.
